Guestbook comments from the manager

We (three couples) stayed at the Nature House over the Ocean Shore The location was peaceful, and the house was the perfect size, in great condition, and just our style - comfortable from the very first moment. The upstairs deck was a favorite gathering place. The kitchen had everything that we needed to prepare two delicious dinners. And the beach...what can you say about being steps away from the Pacific Ocean? We all plan to return. Thank you so much!

Accommodating and cozy...cleanliness was only a 3/5 but better than a hotel!

  • 3 of 5

My family came here for the weekend. It was nice to be able to be together under one roof, and this house allowed us to do that. However, the house definitely wasn't as neat and clean as it should've been. Furniture was a bit dirty and house just generally wasn't as clean as expected. However, it was very nice to be able to cook meals instead of going out for every meal, and there were plenty of towels and kitchen accessories to make it feel like a home away from home. We dealt with a little bit of an ant infestation on the kitchen counter, but nothing that wasn't manageable. Overall, the house was warm and cozy and accommodated our 9 people nicely, and even our fur babies. The view is good, but the walk to the beach was a little longer than expected.

Nice location but oudated and very dirty

  • 2 of 5

The location of this home was nice, however, it was outdated and quite dirty. The sinks were and bathtubs were appalling (stained, dirty and no plugs) and the downstairs shower backed up the second night we were there. We were promised ample kitchen supplies for the stay and ended up having to go out and buy things as they were old and sparse. I have stayed at other (less expensive) homes in this neighborhood and have to be honest, I was quite disappointed with the state of this home. It just seems that is has not been cared for. The upstairs furniture was also filthy and covered with blankets so not to see what was underneath. I would go back to this area but would not stay at this home again. It needs to be cleaned and touched up significantly.

Great Beachouse

  • 4 of 5

My family really enjoyed our stay at the Nature Beach House. The home was perfect for our size family, it was well equipped for our needs. The walk to the beach included many deer sightings and the grandkids loved walking on the floating bridge. The deer were everywhere even on the property. We could hear the beach but not see it from the house. Despite a few minor missing housekeeping items (dishwasher soap & a couple of burnt out lightbulbs) our stay was perfect. Would most definitely consider another stay at this home.

Awful

  • 1 of 5

The location itself and proximity to the beach was nice but right from the start the home was not as advertised. There was no kayak as promised and was barely "stocked" for a family trip. The tv downstairs did not work. The DVD player upstairs didn't work (difficult when you have a 3 and 6 year old). The walls were paper thin. The washing machine leaked. The water was disgusting and tasted of dirt and rust--so bad you could not use it to make coffee. The most shocking and horrific part was that we were there for Labor Day weekend with two dogs and 4 kids, 4 adults and on Monday the downstairs shower overflowed with feces. (We were there until Tuesday).

We called management because the next day the yard in which our children played was flooded with septic tank back up. We were told not to go into the yard or to use the bathrooms or water so we went into town. Everything was booked up so we could not move. I asked the owner to consider a discount as our experience was so bad but she could not give me the courtesy of a response.

Fun Beach Getaway

  • 4 of 5

The house was large enough for three couples and two small children (the kids slept in the same room as us). The house was nice--as pictured. We brought two dogs, and you can tell it was a dog-friendly place because things were a little worn, but it didn't bother us at all. The beach was wonderful. You walk a windy trail through beach grass and over a bridge. We were a little concerned about the bridge with our small children because the stream was a raging river at this point. Both of our dogs fell off the bridge, were caught by the current, and had to be precariously hauled in (and one of them is a 100 pound German Shepard).

It was very quiet and relaxing. The view was fantastic. With the exception of a few minor house-related inconveniences, it was a wonderful trip. They were also nice enough to let us check in early; a lifesaver with two young kids and dogs. We'd gladly return.
