Overview

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 6-10)

Expansive water views from every room of this completely renovated, large three bedroom home on close to an acre of land. An over sized deck features a gas grill and a big hot tub (always hot!) overlooking the water. Kitchen has brand new appliances including a huge Sub Zero refrigerator, and a Wolf gas cook top set into beautiful granite counter tops. The house has two large living rooms to provide adults & children separate common areas. A large sun room can be virtually turned into a screened-in porch by opening the six and sixteen foot sliders. Air conditioning provides relief from the summer heat.

We have a dock that sits over the water. The dock is decorated with flowers and Adirondack chairs & provides a great place to sit and enjoy morning coffee, read a book in the sun in the afternoon, or relax with an evening cocktail. Everything in the house is brand new and top of the line...this house is no Cape Cod Cottage!! Comments from our past guests state that they appreciate that we paid attention to every detail!

Master bedroom has a custom built driftwood bed and newly renovated private bath with large stone shower with two heads. Other two bedrooms have a king and two twins respectively. A futon and a day bed are available in the second living room. This house has a lot to offer for a true Cape Cod vacation. Don't forget your Kayaks!!

We have 160 feet of waterfront on Town Cove, which provides boat access to the Outer Beach, Nauset Marsh, Nauset Harbor, Nauset Inlet, and the Atlantic Ocean. You can have a picnic on the Outer Beach by boat, try catching a fish from the backyard, kayak or sail the waterways. At low tide, dig for littleneck clams, while at high tide, grab your tevas and take a swim in the Cove. We are not on a sandy beach, but you can still enjoy a swim or floating on a raft. The house has a huge yard with lounge chairs to soak up the rays. On hot days, enjoy reading a book in the cental air conditioning, or simply sit and watch the boats go by. On a rainy day, kids can play video games on Wii or board games. Adults can watch the game or a movie on the big screen LED HDTV or jump in the hot tub and watch the rain hit the water (our favorite time). We have high speed wireless cable internet, so you can bring your computer. We have an office in the house if you do have to do work while on vacation.

We are very close to town, shopping, the supermarket, restaurants, beaches and ponds. The drive-in movie theater is always a good time. Goose Hummock provides kayak and canoe rentals and lessons, and bait, boating, and fishing supplies. You can rent a kayak and kayak back to the house in 15 minutes!

We, the owners, are a laid back young couple who live in a small apartment over the garage. We will respect your privacy and space (this place is your home for the week). We can also be available for directions, recommendations, or any other questions.

About The Owner

Bill moved to the Cape with his family when he was 11 years old. I (Meredith) moved out here 'for the summer' after college and never left. We have been together for 16 years now and have owned our home for eleven years. He owns a hardwood flooring business that he took over from his father. I work as a counselor in private practice. We enjoy the beach, boating, kayaking, cooking and entertaining. In the winter the Cape gets pretty quiet so we try to head out to the mountains to do some skiing, and try to travel to exotic places as much as possible.

The Owner purchased this house in 2003

Why The Owner chose Cape Cod

Because of a few lucky investments, we were able to buy our dream home and design it the way that we wanted. We are only able to own this house because of the rental potential in the summer. We love the Cape, love the water, and couldn't ask to be in a nicer house or better location. People ask how we can stand to move out of our home and let others use it for the summer, but we are happy to do this because otherwise we wouldn't be able to afford to live here.

What makes this house unique

We designed this house for us. Therefore, everything in it is as you would want your own home to be. Bill gets to see a lot of other rental properties as he is in a lot of homes with his flooring business. Many rentals have old furniture, old appliances, and can be a bit run down. We live in the house from October through May, so we made our home nice for us. We have nice new appliances, fancy cookware, clean new mattresses, etc. We think that this is what stands our house out from others.

Fantastic Vacation Rental!

  • 5 of 5

One of our BEST family vacations ever! Like many other reviewers, we were not ready to leave Meredith and Bill's beautiful home. I wish that we would have booked two weeks. We happened to be there on a particularly humid week and we were very thankful the air conditioning. The layout of the home is perfect for big gatherings. My brother and his family, who live in MA, rented a home near by, but our home was the gathering place with lots of room to roam for everyone. Ten adults and three babies around the dining room table was no problem. The kitchen is stocked like a home kitchen, not a rental. We had everything that we needed. The setting is magical. We loved our time on the dock, the deck and of course in the hot tub. We also loved how close it was to the market and restaurants (don;t miss The Knack!) We had three generations enjoying this beautiful home, gorgeous view, gracious hosts and would highly recommend it to anyone heading to The Cape. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer.

Didn't want to leave

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful vacation at Meredith and Bill's home and appreciated their willingness to open it for others to enjoy. It was beautiful!

Now that we are back at home, we miss . . . the short walk down the wooded bank to the dock where we had a great time kayaking, paddle boarding and sipping morning coffee . . . the relaxing hot tub . . . eating a lobster dinner on the deck . . . the spectacular views of the cove from all of the bedroom windows and the great room . . . the master bedroom's comfortable king-sized bed, beautiful wooden floors and gorgeous stone shower and sinks . . . the welcome from the owners by providing all that we needed including beach chairs . . . the short drives to Nauset Light Beach, Nauset Beach, the bike trail, sunsets at Rock Harbor, Hot Chocolate Sparrow and the not so long drive to Provincetown.

We hope to return some day. Until we do, we'll cherish our memories.

Thanks Meredith and Bill!

A great place to stay at the Cape!

  • 5 of 5

There were 6 of us that fit nicely into the accommodations provided. Four adults and two teens. We loved the view over the water, the dock and the amazing kitchen island. I loved the walk in shower just off the master bedroom. Everything was just as shown in the video walk through. With Arnold's sea food just up the street and Orleans just 'down the street, location was perfect. Two naps on the gravity chairs were a especially memorable. We had some friends over and did a cookout on the grille and ate on the deck one breezy, sunny afternoons. It wasn't 'til the last full day's stay I turned on the AC. It took awhile to cool down the main large upstairs room, but it did work. We left behind a new electric mixer and mixing bowl used by my grand daughter to make chocolate chip cookies and hope subsequent renters put them to good use.

All in all, a wonderful stay, highly recommended.

Beautiful View, so relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

6 adults had a delightful week, the home was even better than the photos. We brought kayaks and kept them conveniently on the dock. We enjoyed cooking every evening, eating out on the deck, went out for lunches. Shopping very convenient. The central a/c was welcome at the end of our week! Only went to the beach one day, content to relax at the house and watch the boats in the Town Cove go by. Biked on the CCRT many days, ferry to Nantucket with bikes, fun! Thank you, Meredith and Bill!

Three Couples Highly Recommend

  • 5 of 5

Finding a spacious, comfortable, and tastefully decorated waterfront home is everyone's quest. Meredith and Bill , a friendly and gracious couple, provide a unique vacation home that excels in every category. The views from each room add to the serene architectural design of the house ( I kept thinking of Frank Lloyd Wright's concepts of space and light). Our family (six adults) found the entire house to be tastefully decorated, conveniently located and spaciously comfortable. If you enjoy having your morning coffee by the water or looking to the stars from the hot tub, this is it. Enough cannot be said about how each adult had ample space. Dining or relaxing...inside or out, Meredith and Bill made our stay a vacation to remember for years to come.

Had a great time

  • 5 of 5

We hope to return in 2017 for another family good time here. The terrific weather made the property even better as we used the dock to access the water for kayaking and SUPing. We accessed the rail trail for long bike rides and grilled a lot. The mozzies ate us alive when we used the hot tub one evening, but the house is wonderfully comfortable and easy to maintain and let folks spread out and do Their individual thing. The two weeks just flew by!!
