About The Owner

This is our family in action. We spend most of our time on our sailboat Kialoa V racing and cruising the caribbean and east coast of the U.S. so that is why our home is on VRBO. My husband and I have owned many different houses in Lake Placid over the last 27 years and we always have had them in a vacation rental program . We love Lake Placid and always come back to enjoy a week here and there during every season. We love to come back in the winter time for skating, skiing and snowboarding as well as enjoying all the olympic venues. Summer is our time for hiking, fishing, swimming and wake boarding. Fall is one of our favorite times to be in Lake Placid with the changing of the leaves. There is always some event going on in Lake Placid no matter what time of year. We love our home and I think you will enjoy it as well.

The Owner purchased this house in 2006

Why The Owner chose Adirondack Mountains

We chose to buy this home because of the location in Lake Placid. The kids can walk downtown to the beach on Mirror Lake. We are 5 min walk to the jack rabbit trail and Lake Placid Lake. My husband and I love to walk out the door and walk to shops downtown as well as restaurants. The second reason we bought this particular house was the size of the house. We love to entertain and always have lots of company so we need a large house.

What makes this house unique

I love to cook and our brand new gourmet kitchen will thrill you too.

Even with lots of company i can always find privacy wether in the Library or reading a book on my day bed off our bedroom. The other wonderful thing is the outdoor Living. The large yard with the big deck the back garden and sunroom as well as the front porch with swing.

comfortable spacious great location

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 14 included eight kids under 12 years old who loved the "in-house movie theater" and played for hours in the large fenced in backyard - which the two dogs also appreciated. The adults loved the large professional grade kitchen, a private bathroom attached to each of four bedrooms, the very large deck where we barbeqd multiple times while watching the kids play kickball. The driveway can probably accommodate 6 to 8 cars. There are many private sitting areas where one could relax away from the crowd. We walked to town, to the Mirror Lake beach, to the supermarket - great location. The only suggestion to improve the comfort level would be to add air conditioning units to the four main bedrooms - it certainly cools down in the evening but during the day coming back from a walk in the summer heat - a cool bedroom would be welcome. There were fans but they merely spread the warm air. We will certainly be back and would highly recommend the house.

Our large family thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this clean, very spacious home a few weeks ago in Lake Placid. Each family had their own bedroom and bathroom. This lovely home was more than adequate and far exceeded our expectations. We have rented a number of VRBO and this was by far one of the best we have ever stayed in. The kitchen was professionally done and very well equipped with everything we needed and more. There was a lovely deck and backyard with plenty of seating for all of us. The children enjoyed the home theatre. The dining room was large with plenty of seating there as well.

This home is within walking distance of downtown and very close to grocery stores.

The owners were very helpful and easy to contact if we had any questions. We had inadvertently left a few items behind and they we kind enough to mail them to us at their expense. This was very much appreciated.

We look forward to coming back to this home again for future family get togethers. We would highly recommend this property to anyone with large groups wanting a great place to stay. Our one and only complaint is that we wish we had booked a longer vacation.

Perfect locatin

  • 5 of 5

Our group of family and friends enjoyed our stay in this spacious and cozy home. There's enough space and bathrooms for everyone and the kitchen is professional grade! The location is absolutely perfect, being close to downtown yet quite enough for a relaxing stay. The owner is very helpful. I specifically love the instruction board in the kitchen. We would gladly come back here in the future.

Spacious, yet cozy.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here with a group of friends and family, and we hope to come back next year. The home is in beautiful condition, with plenty of space for several couples or small families. If you like to cook, the kitchen is professional grade. There is a small in home theater that the little ones loved. There are 2 wood burning stoves, perfect to sit around and warm up and relax. The owners could not have been friendlier and more accommodating.

Our family really enjoyed this home and our stay in Lake Placid. This lovely home was clean, and perfectly located close to restaurants and shops! The home had everything we needed for a 4-night get away. I highly recommend it!

Ironman Lake Placid rental home - perfect location!

  • 4 of 5

A group of 10 of us (and my little dog) stayed at this unique house. We loved all the antique details inside the home and the updates, like new showers on the 2nd floor and the amazingly huge remodeled kitchen.

This house was in the perfect location for IM Lake Placid as it was within walking distance (1/2 mile) from downtown main street and just 20-30 minutes away from the Oval (race venue). We loved being a bit tucked away from Main Street but it was still accessible - and this house was very close to the local grocery store!

We loved the house from the small "movie room" and huge dining room table (which made for great dinners together) to the mudroom and front hall to store all of our triathlon gear. There is SO much space in this house!!

I would highly recommend this house for big groups. The only downside is that it only has 2 showers (but 5 bathrooms and 2 clawfoot tubs) so people would need to share if they prefer showers over a bathtub.
