Overview

About the property

Log Cabin with 2 queen beds, 1 futon, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-5)

Private cabin on the shores of Burntside lake only 7 miles from Ely. One of Minnesota's most beautiful lakes with crystal clear water and many uninhabited islands. Get back to nature by sitting outside or in the screened porch to watch the lake change as the sun goes down or take a sauna and jump in the lake. Enjoy the fishing or just observe the loons, herons, ducks and other wildlife on the lake or shorelines. A fire pit is close to the lake to roast marsh mellows or just hang out.

No TV so you can catch up on your sleep or read your favorite books. Good time for your kids to learn to play games with the family. A canoe, kayak and paddle boat are included. A little fishing boat can be rented for extra.

If it rains, you can take in the International Wolf Center and the American Bear Center with live animals. Lunch and dinner could be at one of the many fine restaurants with shopping in Ely's unique shops.

Almost perfect . . . .

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay. The only things missing was a meteor shower and the northern lights. A week without media is good medicine.

Relaxing week getaway in the north woods

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay at the Burntside Lake Cabin. It was the most relaxing week we have had in ages. The cabin has a bit of rustic charm, and was equipped with almost everything you would need (we got a list of additional supplies we would need before we arrived). The cabin was clean and secluded from neighbors with only the lake and trees in our view. We were able to make home cooked meals in the kitchen and eat them looking at the lake from the enclosed porch, and fall asleep looking at the stars thru the skylight windows and listening to the loons calling on the lake. The owners do offer boat rentals but we brought our own and launched from the public access just 1/4 mile away. We didn't have any luck fishing, but not from lack of trying-but that has nothing to do with the cabin. Our fishing trips did provide beautiful scenery on the lake. With the town of Ely less than a 10 minute drive away, we could go into town for groceries, dinner, t-shirts or to visit the Jim Brandenburg Studio, Dorothy Molter Museum or the International Wolf Center, among many other vacation possibilities. We really appreciated the fact that we were able to bring our dogs with us. They had as much fun as we did. We truly enjoyed our relaxing week in the north woods of Ely, along Burntside Lake!

Perfect Ely Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I absolutely loved our time at this cabin! We felt like we had our own little piece of isolated heaven. The cabin was nice and clean, great fire place and interior setup, and we had amazing adventures canoeing around all the islands on Burntside Lake. We would definitely come again and recommend it to everyone!
