Spend a relaxing summer in a charming ranch near all amentities Long Island has to offer. 5 minute walk to beach and across the street from notable Wildwood State Park. Wine tasting and live music at nearby vineyards. Apple and peach picking from local orchard. Fine Restaurants, golf courses, and farm stands galore. Tanger Outlet shopping, Splish Splash Water Park, and Riverhead Aquarium all just a short drive away.
The house was just right. Very clean and the beds were comfortable. We went on a very hot weekend and the air conditioners and fans were more than adequate for keeping the house cool and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed for eating in and there were plenty of choices nearby for dining out. It was a wonderful experience in every way!
We really enjoyed our stay. The house was neat and clean. I did see a few dust bunnies in the laundry area window and if you cross the street and look down the hill you can see a bad symbol on an old shed. However the house was very roomy and the kitchen had everything you needed, plus a nice assortment of spices. I was there with 3 teenagers and there were enough TV so everyone could see there shows. There is also a nice state park very close with beach access.
Our family of 5 had a very pleasant stay. Large bathroom upstairs with roomy shower and tub. Downstairs has guiet and large space with smaller bathroom and shower. 3 large screen tv's. Washer and dryer for laundry. Full and well supplied kitchen. Close to groceries, pharmacies, etc. Would come again.
Upon arrival there were no window screens in any of the windows. Something you would expect that the house would have, given that our visit was in the summer. We were able to locate them by digging around the closets, and we installed them ourselves so that we could open windows without bugs coming in. This seemed like something the owners should have prepared for, not the guests. There were cobwebs in corners and the window sills had debris, so the place could have used an extra layer of cleaning for those nooks and crannies. As we drove to the drive way, we saw the house across the street had a large pile of junkyard rubbish, and a tree house in the yard that had a swastika spray painted on it. Not a great first impression of the area.
However, the layout worked well for our visit with a young toddler who wakes and goes to bed early. The master bedroom, kids bunk bedroom and master bath (huge tub, double sink) are upstairs; the basement holds the third bedroom, another living area space w/cable tv and bathroom. Adults could hang out downstairs without any noise bothering the sleeping kids. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking and the owner provided a baby gate to the downstairs. Overall the living areas are a little cramped but fine for a small family who won’t be home much. There was a grill and picnic table in the back.
Parking pass to the resident beach was a plus as well as being walking distance to the state park.
Aquarium. A delightful country ride to Greenport, Hamptons, and Montauk Point.
