Fish off the dock or bring your boat (the boat launch is just around the corner) and tie up at our dock. Throw the chairs in the car and drive 1 mile right onto the Gulf beach. The home has a large 20x14 living room with canal view , 40” HDTV, and fireplace. 4 bedrooms provides plenty of space, 3 bedrooms are on the water. The ground floor master has a private bath and walk-in closet. Quartz countertop in the well-equipped kitchen. Full size washer/dryer. $2100/month winter rental.
My husband and I spent two glorious months at Island Breeze! We needed for nothing!
Beautifully furnished, decorated, and felt so welcome...owners are the best. Enough room for comfort for 8, kitchen fully equipped, water "toys" all there! We'd recommend to everyone we know! Only reason we can't return is our desire for a dog...allergies prevent the owners from allowing them. We thank the Hess's and feel like friends!
We had a wonderful stay at this nice home. For anyone looking for a 4 bedroom, nice living room and canal view, I would recommend. Parking is a bit tight.
We found this property to be as advertised. Very well maintained and comfortable - felt like home away from home! The owners were easily accessible to us for any questions that we had and also had packets of information available regarding things to do, restaurants, maps, et al. which we found very helpful. We particulary enjoyed St. Andrew by the Sea open air church which was five minutes away and easily accessible so were able to start each day at mass which we found very serene and relaxing. We also found the beach to be just a few minutes away and greatly enoyed the simple pleasure of walking the beach. We would recommend this property to family and friends with no hesitation.
Driving up, all the condos seemed ok, but nothing really special. That was until we opened the door. First let me say that the pictures don't really do it justice. The place was immaculate! The kitchen had everything that we could possibly need, pots, pans, coffee makers, coffee bean grinders, toasters, etc. All items were things that you would have in your own home, not just some throw away item. The dining area was nice, it was stocked with numerous games, cards and puzzles, plus additional fold up tables. The living room contained a large TV with DISH that worked perfectly. The wireless internet never went out and I was able to connect while on the deck. The deck was really nice not overly manicured, but not too wild either. Fishing rods, chairs, umbrella, grills, solar lights and even a kayak were supplied. The kids fished off the deck from early morning to late into the night. The canal was clean with moving water, so there was no smell. The master bedroom contained a nice personal desk and an air conditioner for use if needed. Since the AC worked perfectly, the ceiling fans were really all that was needed. The kids had the upstairs bedrooms and each was perfect for them. They loved the in room sinks. The garage contained numerous items, more than we could every use. Lucky for us there were lots of beach towels, because the kids went to the beach daily. They surfed at Padre Bali Park and J.P. Luby which were both just a few miles away. It was so nice to go to the beach or to a restarant and return to our peaceful home on the canal. This was our first home rental, and I must say that the bar is very high. Contact with the owners was easy, and my deposit was returned. We look forward to returning.
For starters, I am not ever one to complain. This is the first time I have ever gone online to write a review. Although, after the treatment I received from the owner of this condo; I felt compelled to.
My complaints were not so much about the condo itself. The negatives I had with the condo were when we arrived there was foul, completely full trash cans in the garage. We emptied those first thing. The garbage disposal made a strange noise, therefore I never used it. There were only 2 rolls of toilet paper available for a week long stay. Among having to buy toilet paper, I also had to purchase trash bags and dish soap. All of which I left in the condo for the next guest to use. On a positive note, the kitchen is well stocked and the beds are comfortable. I left with the feeling that it was a mediocre experience. Not bad enough to complain but also not favorable enough to return.
My main concern came via emails from the owner once I was back home. The first email I received stated that I left the place "very dirty (there was something all over the kitchen cabinets)". He also said I was being charged for a service call for a broken garbage disposal. He was also charging me an extra cleaning fee. He will be deducting these fees from my deposit. First of all, to say that I left the condo "very dirty" is absolutely ludicrous. We were there for a full week and did choose to cook dinner every night in the condo versus going out to eat. I would expect some cleaning being within the lines of a maids duty, which we paid for. My guests and I are all very clean, respectful people. It is not in any of our personalities to disrespect anyone's home. I did a thorough inspection the day we left making sure everything was in order and clean. Including removing the trash out of the garage like the maid failed to do for us. I replied to the owner respectfully to share with him my thoughts on the matter. Well...... Hold on to your seat...... In his response, he accused me of having a dog in the condo because the maid found short black hair (we dont have a dog). He accused me of leaving shrimp juice in the fridge (we never ate shrimp). Oh wait, it gets worse, he accused me of urinating in his bed. I have never in my life been so insulted. We are professional, responsible adults and I was being made to feel like an irresponsible teenager on spring break partying it up (with incontinence). Long story short.... If you enjoy being insulted, this condo will suit you perfectly
It looks like any other condo on the street until you open the front door. Love the tiled floors, the bath right off the front hall, garage door to the left filled with beach items we didn't have to haul with us. Chairs, umbrellas, beach noodles. Then the kitchen had it all, the utensils, pots, pans, cookie sheets, implements, spices, foil, saran wrap, etc. Nice dining area, PLENTY of seating in living room. Perfect views of the waterways - we couldn't have ordered a better plan. Loved that 2 of the 3 upstairs bedrooms has sinks, no standing in line to brush your teeth or wash your face. So close to SPID and the beach - just a short drive. Outdoor shower and hoses to clean up after beach or fishing. We had a family reunion there in October 2010 and we may have found the place to return to year after year. DEFINITELY worth the money, made for a perfect visit together. Two couples enjoyed the 4th of July weekend at the townhome. Honestly, I wish we would have known about this beautiful home before. Just a few weeks before our family stayed in a 3-bedroom condo in Port Aransas that was not nearly as nice and I don’t even want to talk about how much more it cost!
From the moment you walk through the front door you feel at home. The kitchen is very well equipped with more gadgets than you will ever need. There is ample seating and the bedrooms are huge. This townhome has everything. The owners certainly did not scrimp on bedding, I slept better here than at home.
There is nothing like only being a few feet from the water. The canal is just steps from the back porch. We found the canal clean, the water refreshing and it was fun to fish from “our” own backyard. There is a private boat dock and a free launch ramp nearby so next time I think we will bring our boat.
In summary - Beautiful sunsets from the deck above the boatlift, warm and inviting furnishings, nice and quiet yet close to the beach and all the activities. The only way this could be better is if we owned it.
Gulf Coast island living at its best, with the Laguna Madre on one side and the Gulf of Mexico on the other, close to Padre Island National Seashore, Port Aransas, and downtown Corpus Christi. Fish, golf, sunbathe, beach-comb, swim, kayak, waterski, tour, ride horses, surf, shop, watch birds, hunt, windsurf.
