Florida boys that can not keep away from the mountains, but when we are not enjoying the cabin, we are glad to share with others...
John/owner purchased this cabin in 2011
This is a fantastic cabin; it had everything I could ask for and some. It was private, quiet, and the view was fantastic. The owners were very great to work with and they took every step to make this place comfortable for guests. I am very pleased with this cabin and I will definitely be back. I would highly recommend this place to family who want to have privacy and yet be close to everything around.
My friends and I had a restful time at Johns off the beaten path, gorgeous view of a cabin. We were unendingly amazed at Johns handiwork. John is a quiet and kind, and made us feel very welcome. It was an honor to share his home. He even cut up wood for us to make a fire and did a test run for us. He shared his top floor porch with us and we enjoyed his hammocks.
Our kitchen had everything we needed, and the space was almost a cross between a hotel and a cabin- restful and not too rustic. The view was gorgeous! I wondered what it would look like in the fall with the leaves changing a less leaves from the trees in front of the cabin covering part of the view. The downstairs half of the cabin was a perfect amount of privacy with the convenience of having John above us to ask questions to (although I don't think John is always there if you prefer even more privacy). The drive up is a little tricky if you don't have 4WD, it's well worth the small mountain drive. I definitely recommend 4WD for the dirt/gravel road, however. There's an Ingles 7-10 min down the road and was 15ish min from the Nantahala. John mentioned a few nearby hiking spots and a waterfall. We didn't have time to go but sounded wonderful...ask him about it.
The host John is a man of incredible integrity, full of the increasingly rare quality of grace. My family and I started our vacation of in a "Griswoldian" fashion, but John saved the day. We arrived in a CRV, ready to tackle the climb up the mountain to the cabin. Not so. We would not arrive at the Treetop Cabin for 4 on that day, but burned up our transmission in the attempt. With tail between legs, I texted John and we sought a solution. In the end, he offered a full refund and even offered to help us find another place to stay (it was July 4th weekend and there was likely no room in the Inn...). Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you, John, for being so incredibly understanding and for going out of your way to save the day. Thank you!
Really enjoyed porch, hammocks, & outdoor life. The driveway was a little scary without 4x4 drive.
Property was very private and well kept we will return
This was a very clean and modern cabin. It was loaded with all the kitchen gadgets that you could need to prepare dinner for any length of stay. There was plenty of space in the bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom. You have access to two levels of porches and both have great views. It was very secluded and private. When I was there the trees hadn't bloomed yet so you could see the roofs of several other houses, but they aren't close enough where they intrude on your privacy.
It was a very comfortable and nice stay. I enjoyed everything about this place. I really enjoyed turning up the sound system with some tunes and relaxing on the porch while grilling dinner. During the day, I went into Bryson City, which was awesome. You are also super close to tons of hiking and water activities. I recommended going when it is slightly warmer ( I was here in March) so you can comfortably enjoy the river rafting.
You may see hummingbirds, owls, turkey, deer.
Minutes from access to a small creek and Little Tennessee River.
