Great location for central coast exploring!

  • 4 of 5

The property is clean and functional. It is not a new or newly remodeled home, but it serves its purpose well. The tap water is very chlorinated. If you are sensitive to that, consider bringing a portable water dispenser/filter system to keep in the fridge.

Owners are helpful and responsive.

Relaxing Vacation

  • 4 of 5

This location is for those that wish to enjoy the serenity of sitting on the upstairs deck to enjoy the ocean view, the sound of waves at night, close proximity to walking trails, and the Sea Chest restaurant.

As other reviews have stated, the property is older and the furniture somewhat dated, but the beds are nice and clean. The owner has been doing some things to renovate the inside, such as the upstairs bath and some newer appliances. If I were the owner I would probably replace the deck chairs with some of the composite Adirondack chairs and a table, and the dresser in the upstairs room. My wife wanted to mention that the driveway is on a steep incline, so pulling in can be a challenge (didn't bother me and I was driving a Nissan Titan).

The longer we stayed at this place the more we enjoyed it. Also wanted to note that the owner discounted our price because of construction going on next door. We were not bothered by the construction at all...and the workers even apologized that they were working on the home; but what I really appreciated was the honesty of an owner to forewarn me of such circumstances before I reserved the rental...something you don't always see today.

We enjoyed it so much the first time that we came back again. Great location. Loved hearing the sound of the crashing waves at night.

Weekend in Cambria

  • 4 of 5

The house is in a good location, and we slept great hearing the ocean waves. The beds were very comfortable. The down side: coffee maker didn't work, however, the owner was willing to have us purchase a coffee maker with the assurance they would pay us back. We opted to use the French Press that was provided. The other down side was the construction going on next door. It wasn't the noise, it was the huge scaffolding around the house that definitely obstructed the otherwise beautiful view. The owners did graciously refund 10% of our stay in compensation. The view will be MUCH better for sure once construction is finished next door!

comfy home/good location

  • 5 of 5

Clean. Comfy. Loved the rooftop. Inside the master bedroom we could hear the waves rolling in even though the house is set back away from the beach. It was just my husband and me. We didn't cook but did make coffee in the morning. Home is a bit outdated but wasn't a problem--we had everything we needed. Didn't use the washer & drier but nice that it was an option. Couldn't figure out the TV (was hoping to catch the news since we were on vacation and out of touch a bit with the goings on in the world) but if I really wanted to, I could have contacted the owner. The entire city of Cambria was fun to discover. We rode bicycles, hiked, combed the beach, and enjoyed seafood. Also went to the seal rookery, Hearst Castle, and Morro Bay. Such a great place.
