Welcome to Lake Skatutakee in Harrisville New Hampshire, where there is no better way to enjoy the long summer days than from a lakefront cottage. You will find this location ideal for the small family, or just perfect for the individual looking to get away.
Appreciate the lake from your screened in porch, or step out onto the patio to enjoy the afternoon sun.
Mt Monadnock is close by for the outdoor enthusiast, or take the 15 minute drive to Keene, NH for a day of shopping.

We are a young couple who has had a connection to this area for generations.
We live on the property so we feel it's important to have everything at 100% for your visit.
The Owner purchased this cottage in 2010
The vacation rental is part of our personal property.
Renters get the comforts of a small town. Summer is best time to enjoy the outdoors, and there are plenty of lakes and hikes nearby.
We rented this cottage for a 3 day weekend and had a great time. We have 2 young children who shared the pull out sofa. It is very clean and well appointed with the conveniences of home - except for cable tv. The cottage is near Keene and Peterborough and close to Monadnock for day hikes. The property is very relaxing with the option to hang out in their yard, on the porch or on an enclosed 3 season porch (great for when it's a bit cool or buggy) that is right on the lake shore. Harrisville and Hancock are nearby villages that both have great general stores and the area has lots to do. The area is very easily accessible to Boston and the owners are very friendly and went out of there way to make us feel comfortable, accommodate our needs and share their own knowledge of the local area. Great place for a couple or family with 1-2 small kids.
This is our fourth year here, so that attests to the beauty of this spot. We keep extending our stay and are up to 3 weeks. We have been to many places over the years, but this is the most idyllic of all.
There is much to do and see in the area, but we have a hard time tearing ourselves away from the porch gazing out over the lake. This year there was a family of four loons, instead of the normal two in the past, that serenaded us, what bliss.
If you are a true Lake Connoisseur, put this on your Top 10 List. Swimmer's & paddler's paradise. Quiet. Clean. Loons! Stars! Beautifully equipped kitchen. Totally unobstrusive but lovely young couple owner/landlord and well-behaved & charming old dog. For this reviewer, the best part is the water: the location on a tiny point of land leaves you surrounded on 3 sides by the soft, glimmering, shimmering, inviting water of Lake Skatatukee (pronounced with emphasis on the "-ta"). If relaxation is what you seek, if swimming, canoeing and reading are your idea of a good time, this is the place for you! (Bring your mountain bike - many roads in the area are dirt & gravel).
(ps: bedroom mattress is quite soft)."
We had such a great time here. The cottage is directly on the lake with one room practically on it with all the lovely lake sounds. Brice and Jen were lovely: totally helpful but also unobtrusive. The place is around 15 minutes from Peterboro and 20 minutes from Keene so there is good food but also a great rustic vibe. Lovely hiking and may I again mention the lake. Lovely private deck and outdoor seating as well plus a 2 person canoe. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.
Spent a week at this cottage; the pictures don't begin to describe how nice it is. Not pictured here is a large bedroom with a comfortable queen size bed. It is also roomier than it looks. I recommend staying away from the sitting room overlooking the water if you have any plans. Difficult to pull yourself away. The lake is also pretty quiet, not many boats and I didn't see any jet skis. The interior was very clean and I wasn't lacking for anything. I spent my time traveling the Harrisville/Ringe/Peterborough areas painting landscapes and ate comfortably at the cottage every night. I will be recommending this place to all my painter/hiking friends.
