About Patrina Nickson
I grew up in Elberta and inherited this lovely little house from my father. It has been totally remodeled into the perfect hideaway to get away from it all in beautiful northwestern Michigan. I hope that the people who stay in my Elberta Village Hideaway will love it and the Benzie County area with its lakes and rivers and gorgeous scenery as much as I do.
Patrina Nickson purchased this House in 2009
Why Patrina Nickson chose Elberta
Elberta is a quiet peaceful village that is just a hop and a skip away from lots of fun places.
What makes this House unique
The Elberta Village Hideaway is in the perfect location - it's minutes from the sandy Lake Michigan beaches and within walking distance of the Betsie River. Elberta Lifesaving Station (wedding venue) is 1.1 miles down the road. The Betsie Valley Trail (biking) is accessible approximately 2 blocks from the house and runs to Thompsonville. A quick 20 minute drive takes you to Crystal Mountain for golf or skiing. There are casinos and shopping in Manistee and Traverse City, 30 and 45 minutes away. Frankfort is 1 mile away on the north side of Betsie Bay and has unique shops. There are 135 miles of groomed snowmobile trails in Benzie county. There is also an nice private back yard to relax in.

We had a wonderful stay at the Elberta hideaway! Clean, cute and just right for our needs. Patrina was promptly responsive to all of our questions, even as she was on vacation herself! Walkable to the Lighthouse Cafe, the "best breakfast" around. A great stay for a good price. We stayed in the depths of winter and non-stopped blizzards; I can only imagine how great it would be to stay here at the height of summer!
Our party enjoyed our stay at the Hideaway.
The accommodations were exceptional.
The house was quaint, but met all of our needs. The owner went over and above to accommodate.
We had a great conversation with the owner about the history of the property and her father, who served in WW 2. Great stay.
Clean and comfy
We stayed here for a family vacation and had a ball! The house was clean, well equipped and perfect for our needs. Patrina was accommodating and helpful, all we could ask for. 10/10 would recommend!
Clean and cozy!
Cute. Clean. Cottage!
Everything we were looking for! Patrina was a wonderful host; always available and helpful for questions. Very sweet lady! The area was perfect for us. Our son enjoyed the many areas for fishing. We enjoyed the walk into Frankfort and the easy access to Elberta Beach and close walks to the Cabbage Patch for dinner and entertainment. The Merchantile was awesome...filled with so many interesting things...owners were great. We found the cottage to be very clean and comfortable. Everything there for our needs, as we made most breakfasts at the cottage. We will definitely return! Thank you Patrina!
