About Ashley and Tracey Underwood
We are Ashley and Tracey Underwood from Greenville, South Carolina. We have an IOP beach loving 5-year old son, named Ridgeway. The beach reigns as all of our "happy place" and the IOP never disappoints!
Ashley and Tracey Underwood purchased this Condo in 2017
Why Ashley and Tracey Underwood chose Isle of Palms
We love the location of the Oceanside Villas with it's proximity to the beach and to Charleston. The wonderful restaurants that are within walking distance are a huge plus - not to mention the ice cream shop! The Isle of Palms enjoys a very long beach season and a lovely off season with mild winter temps.
What makes this Condo unique
We are owner managers and do not use a property management service. This allows us to serve our guests better. We are in the property often making sure everything is working and kept in good condition. We personally stay in this property with our family often and want to be comfortable here too. We love being right in the heart of Isle of Palms. This is a great walking community with restaurants, shops and other vendors just a short walk away. The Isle of Palms fishing pier is private and coded for exclusive use of the Oceanside Villas and Sea Cabins.

We had a great time. Condo was very convenient to the beach,
Nice location, but unit is just OK
-Great location on the IOP. Easy to get on and off the island and it's a short walk to the beach and downtown shops/restaurants. We loved the IOP!
-Tastefully decorated with a beachy vibe.
-Good size, except for a tiny master bathroom.
-Well stocked, except more bath towels are needed, especially since there is no laundry in the unit.
-First floor unit that's close to the parking (parking is super easy and convenient in this resort though), but you're overlooking the parking lot and dumpsters.
-Resort pool is nothing to write home about - pool is very small and chairs are super uncomfortable.
-Sofa bed was dirty upon arrival - food inside and underneath the bed. There was hair inside the microwave and shower. Things like that are just gross and really make you question the overall cleaning job.
-No in-unit washer/dryer, even though the listing implies that. It's fine if you don't have it, but don't list washer/dryer when the options are paid laundromats in a shopping center or sister resort across the street. It's frustrating to find this out a week before arrival when we have no refund option at that point.
-Ceiling/stand-alone fans are much needed. In June, the unit got warm and damp. We had to go buy a fan for the master bedroom just to get some airflow even with the AC on.
-The water heater was broken upon arrival and needed what seemed to be a pretty major half-day repair. We don't fault the owner for that - things happen - but we had to spend two days communicating by text/phone with the repair guy. We go on vacation to get away from things like that. The owner offered to "mail us something for this inconvenience" and two weeks later, we're still waiting for this to arrive.
-The unit needs a deep clean/routine maintenance - rugs and throw pillows have spots, all walls need a fresh coat of paint. As others have mentioned, the seating (except for the sofa) is not comfortable at all.
In summary...we would absolutely return to the IOP. We MIGHT consider Oceanside Villas again, but, if so, would choose a unit with a better location/view within the resort.
Beautiful Beach within walking distance
The property was very conveniently located, close enough to run into to Charleston for a day visit and far enough away to avoid crowds. We had 3 ladies and we're very comfortable but not sure it would have been good for larger parties. The owners left beach chairs, umbrella, high chair for those traveling with a baby, and other amenities for the pool/beach for travelers. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware and beds comfortable. It was great to be able to walk to the beach or to a restaurant from our condo. Hoses to wash off sand were handy. Hall bath had a nice large shower and master bath had a tub for those wanted a soak. Our only complaint is that the living room furniture was not very comfortable but that is typical of the places where we have stayed.
Close to the beach. Very comfortable and kitchen had everything. The beach cart and chairs were great. The only issue was noise from neighbors walking up and down the stairs and upstairs neighbors being rowdy.
Comfortable and clean
We enjoyed our stay of course didn’t spend much time in condo cause we could walk to so much but it was comfortable and clean
Clean, cheeery and conveniently located
Located on Ocean Boulevard, this condominium is just across the street from the ocean with access to the only (private) fishing pier on the Isle of Palms - a short 3 minute walk!
Located in the heart of Isle of Palms, you are just steps from the beach and within walking distance to great restaurants (some with live music), local shopping, and activities. Additional shopping just over the IOP connector in Mt. Pleasant – 5 minute car ride away. Play at some of the area's finest golf courses. Enjoy the wide beaches, tidal pools, swimming in the surf, searching for star fish and sand dollars, or a little game of low tide bocce-ball.
Downtown Charleston is just 12 miles away. Learn more about this charming historic town on a horse-drawn carriage ride or tour Charleston Bay and Forte Sumter by boat.
