Luxury Lie

The property was definitely not as described in VBRO.  It was not luxury nor were the responses from the management team done in timely manner nor to satisfaction.  We had issues with the following:

1. moldy washer that wouldn't spin (error code E20 appeared);

2. broken dryer which was definite fire hazard.  Clothes didn't dry at all.  Dryer itself was extremely hot to touch.  Dryer wouldn't dry on any setting.  Dryer door was ready to fall off;

3. a bottle of Tide detergent was left by either cleaning personnel or previous renter; it was not HE detergent which washer states is needed inside of detergent tray. 

4. electrical hazard in girls bedroom with two twin beds (the TV outlet)

5. towels were moldy smelling and in very poor shape

6. no wash clothes

7. the entire house was filthy - long black hair on floors, counters, bed linen.  Floors were dusty with visible dust bunnies and dirt.  Dirty dishes found in cupboards.  Vents were moldy and covered in dust.  Baseboards were dusty and dirty.  The same long black hair was found in clumps floating in pool.  Our family that stayed on the premises does not have long, black hair. 

8. Pillows and mattresses in very poor condition.  None of them with the possible exception of the twin mattresses need replaced.

9. Bed linen in poor condition,  Stained, pilled, and VISIBLE blood on them.  VISIBLE blood on pillows too.

10. Live cockroaches

11. And although this didn't affect our stay, the landscaping is in very poor condition with what looks like a dead or dying tree that appears to be in jeopardy of falling.  All the landscaping is overgrown.

12. the pool was cleaned/chemicals added during our stay on Friday (our last full day) and we couldn't use it.  This should have been done check out day.

13. the majority of the above issues were found on day 1 before we settled into the house. 

We contacted Gemini management as listed on check in day; left many voicemails. They didn't get back with us until Wednesday. Gave us a lot of talk, run around. Brought clean towels on Wednesday. "Cleaning" was done and by that I mean they used a mop and pushed the hair and dirt from one location to another.

We received our cleaning deposit back from the owner. I didn't feel that was enough after all our unresolved issues. I will not stay here again. I'd rate zero stars but the computer won't let me select that.

Owner's Response: Thank you for sending your review 1.Thank you for reporting this at the end of your stay, following your departure we did indeed have to replace the washer, so we appreciative your valid comments. 2. We tested the dryer several times and our cleaners also used the dryer frequently. As of yet we have not received any other reports of this. However, we have informed our cleaners, if they have suspicions of any malfunction to notify us immediately 3.You are absolutely right about the washer running more efficiently on HE detergent. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. 4.When we were made aware of this by yourselves, our maintenance went ahead have replaced the outlet casing. 5. We always take pride in the presentation of our home and we were concerned to hear this, as this was the first time any guest had advised us about the towels in this way. The management company responded very promptly and rewashed every towel for you at their home and returned them to you the same day. 6. We normally do not provide wash cloths for hygienic reasons. 7. The home was inspected thoroughly prior to your arrival by our management company and the cleaners inspector. We normally ask the guests to inspect We do try and replace pillows when they are in need of replacing. 8. Thank you for letting us know about the pillows, we have addressed this and replaced the pillows in question. This is first time a guest has mentioned the mattresses, I did request for these to tested, removed and replaced if necessary. 9.The Queen sheet was removed and a replacement queen sheet set was delivered to the home during your stay. 10. As soon as you notified us about the cockroaches the pest control service visited the home 11.For the time you were here, Orlando was in state of drought. The HOA had restrictions on watering. 12. I did check this with my management company and they advised, that you had contacted them about the pool turning green. They contacted the pool tech who then treated the pool.When chemicals are added, for safety reasons the pool should not be used. We appreciate your constructive comments and as you requested we did compensate you for the cleaning cost and added a complementary villa clean, as well as the additional pool services we provided. Again, we are very sorry our villa did not meet your expectations and we honestly feel we did everything we could to resolve the above issues in a timely manner.

Really unbelievable!!

The house is very spacious. Very, very comfortable!!

Everything working fine. Second time staying in Emerald Island and the resort and condo is really pretty good!! Very beautiful space, areas, etc.

The house is really full furnished, every little corner is beautiful!! The pool is really comfortable. The kitchen is ready to do all you want to cook.

The bedrooms is REALLY a very comfortable space!! Maggie limits to 15 people in the house but, believe me, the house is spacious for 18 or 20. Really great space!!

Every pic you see in HomeAway is real. Everything is there as you see in the pics.

We will renting this house again!

We had an enjoyable stay at this house and it exceeded our expectations. The process of renting from Maggie could not have gone better and her communication was fantastic, making it easy to check in. While the house shows minor signs of wear here and there as it is a rental, it's obvious the property management company and the homeowner work to keep things up to date. We loved the pool and Jacuzzi and used it multiple times per day. The outdoor kitchen, which included a grill, refrigerator, griddle/burner, and sink, was a nice upgrade over what most of the other houses have, which is just a propane grill. The bedrooms were well appointed and everyone in our party of 11 found the beds comfortable. Even with 11, there was plenty of hot water to go around for showers and at no time did we ever feel cramped or wanting more space. Like another renter, we did discover an empty propane tank that a previous renter did not fill, but that was fixed with a quick exchange at Lowe's. There are very few other houses in this price range that compare to this one. The house is fantastic, the resort is great, and we will be back.

Great place!

This is my 2nd stay in this home, a few years ago with my family and recently with my husband's family. Both times have been awesome! Great location and great resort! We had a party of 16 ranging from 6 months to 68 years old and the house was perfect for us, very accommodating. We would consider staying here again.

Enjoyable stay

This is the perfect size house for families to get together...there was 13 of us between my family and my sisters' family as well as some visitors. We never felt cramped or crowded. The house was clean & the pool was beautiful. A great experience overall! Our only complaint was that the previous users of the grill left an empty propane tank that we had to buy in order to use...a small hiccup to an otherwise enjoyable & successful stay!

Perfect Holiday

The House was perfect the pictures on the web are exactly what you get. I have stopped on another estate nearby but I have to say this is far superior. Maggie was brilliant at communicating and everything worked perfectly. I will be returning to this property
