This is a very fun place to stay, please read our excellent reviews.
Over Easter we had a family get-together and had a lot of people spend the night. It was so much fun, we had a sing-a-long around the camp fire BBQ pit in the backyard, and the next morning a wonderful Easter breakfast for 40 people and egg hunt. Since Jan 2010 we have had 4 birthday parties and 6 other parties for my family and friends at the house - it was pure joy. It's great when you can all stay together and cook meals and have fun.
First time having a big gathering away from home and it was worth it the place had character and everyone loved it and had a great time. No complaints from anyone plenty of room and everyone got a bed. Thank you Diane we had a jolly time and we will definitely be back. Don't think twice about booking the property you won't regret it.
The Jolly tar house was place that kept going on and on. Lots of bedrooms with individual sleeping areas and no need to worry about pull-out beds in the middle of living areas. The costume area was fun for the little girl that went with us. Very convenient to grocery stores and fast food, if desired. However, there are great restaurants in Murphy's, wineries and a lot more. Diane has everything you need for a great stay.
The Jolly Tar Mine House was the host house for our 36th Annual guys weekend golf getaway. Our group of 40 guys played 2 rounds of golf at Greenhorn GC -- and we hosted dinner both nights at the JTMH for all 40 of us. A total of 9 guys comfortably stayed in the house itself. The outside grounds were perfect for our needs. We had a great corn hole tourney that (quietly) lasted until the early morning hours. If our group decided to come back to Angels Camp again, we'll definitely utilize this home. Thank you!
We took a group of ~20 graduate students and post-docs here for our group retreat. There was plenty of space for everyone to sleep and sit in the main living area. The house was quite clean when we arrived and even had a personalized greeting at the door :) The wifi router didn't work when we got there, but after a reset it was just fine. House was close to Stanislaus National Forest with good hiking options for our group. Would recommend for anyone with groups of 20 or more. Thanks!
Had a great stay here. It's such an interesting and fun house! Had lots of fun with the costumes and really liked the size and proximity of a home. It had all necessary cook wear and plenty of space for kids to play. The backyard with the fire pit is epic!
We rented this space for a bridal party. It was great! The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook breakfast the morning of the wedding. There was plenty of space for the girls to get their hair and makeup done. After the wedding there was more than enough space for everyone to crash. It was close to town for last minute necessities, and close to Murphys for dinner/ wine tasting. I would highly recommend for any large group or joined family trip to the area!
