THE LIVING AREA...
“Toba’s Tree House” gets its name from the way it sits on stilts among the treetops. As a result, it’s very private and quiet, too. The living area is an open plan, with double French doors that provide lots of light and all those tree top breezes, too. There's a large flat screen TV in the living room for those evenings you’ve had a bit too much excitement in town. The kitchen has a gas range and refrigerator, with Corian counter tops and all the small appliances one might need. You'll have your own private deck sitting right in the middle of the trees, with a Gas BBQ.
THE POOL AREA...
You’ll have your own private pool, with a surrounding patio and chaises. Or you can walk to Smathers Beach or Higgs Beach for an afternoon of sun and have early dinner at Salute.
Both bedrooms are also on the main level among the trees, so you’ll get the benefit of those wonderful breezes at night. The master bedroom has a king bed, overhead fan, French doors to the balcony and its own bathroom. The second bedroom also has an en-suite bathroom, and two twin beds, overhead fan and French doors to the balcony.
Central Heat and AC, Ceiling Fans, Private Pool, Washer/Dryer, Cable TV, DVD Player, Microwave, Blender, Toaster, Fully Appointed Kitchen, Linens and Towels provided. Daily or weekly housekeeping provided upon request. Wireless high-speed Internet access. This property will accommodate up to 4 adults.

Toby's Tree House was a lovely home in a residential area of Key West.
Elizabeth of Last Key Realty was the best and she responded very promptly to any of our requests and concerns. We could not have asked for better service from her.
The house was very comfortable and all of the appliances, etc. worked fine. It was a five minute walk to Smathers Beach and I found a place to play tennis right across the street. The walk to town was about a half hour.
While most of the home was well maintained we found that it could use some freshening up. Inside family room furniture and rug needs to be replaced. Outside downstairs pool deck was very dirty and needed to be power washed. The pool was very nice and the pool service came once a week to clean. However, it is in need of resurfacing. The pool chairs downstairs were very dirty and either need to be washed or replaced.
All in all we enjoyed our stay as we had great weather and the house was very comfortable.
My husband and I rented Toba’s for the month of September. We had visited Key West before and we wanted to have a more comfortable space for our extended stay that was also pet friendly. The location was ideal. It is a short walk or bike to Smather’s and 10 minute bike ride to Duval. Love the pool! Great to jump in after bike ride back from Duval. We loved local bar that was easy walk away – Shanna Key - great food and friendly bar tender. Go to the Dry Tortugas if you can swing it – amazing, remote, and beautiful.
Last Key Realty staff was great, especially Shannon. She went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. We also had a minor issue with the AC, but Shannon was on it immediately and alleviated the issue. We had a last minute emergency and needed some assistance with our pets. Shannon stepped in and took care of our needs. She was so warm, welcoming, and helpful. You can really tell she loves taking care of her guests and sharing Key West with them. I would recommend this property and Shannon with 5 stars!
My wife and I, along with our 9 month old daughter and Great Dane, spent the month of July in sunny Key West at Toba's Tree House. The property was perfect for us. We had been to Key West a number of times prior to having a child and spent the majority of the time on Duval Street. The location of Toba's feels a million miles away from Duval St, although it's really just a couple of miles away. It's located in a quiet residential neighborhood within walking distance to both Higgs and Smathers beach. It was great to be able to experience a different side of Key West. Each morning started with a cup of coffee from Sandy's and a trip to the Dog Park. We loved going to Salute for Happy Hour or grabbing a bite to eat at the Beer Boutique. The house itself was perfect for a small family. There was plenty of space for the baby to play in the living room and both my wife and I were able to use the office space to work occasionally. The kitchen had plenty of cookware and was open to the rest of the house. The main reason we rented the house was for the backyard. We used the pool everyday.
Not everything was perfect, as to be expected. We had some AC issues with the house, which was taken care of by Shannon at Last Key Realty. She really went above and beyond to make sure that the AC issue did not affect our stay.
As far as some of our other Key West favorites, we really enjoyed La Creperie for breakfast and Zach Taylor State Park for a great day at the beach ( make sure to bring water shoes). If you are looking to do some fishing, look up Captain Mike on The Discretion. He took us out shark fishing and it was unbelievable.
All in all, we had an amazing stay at Toba's Tree House during our month long vacation in Key West. Looking forward to our next trip down there this winter.
What a great little two bedroom home with all of the furnishings one needs. The back of the house completely opens from the living room and two bedrooms with three large French doors onto the deck overlooking the pool. The property was very clean upon our arrival and the rental agent Lori from Last Key Realty couldn't have been any more responsive to our arrival and to the few small items that arose while in the home for the month. The pool area is very private with wonderful palms on two of the three sides. The pool received about five hours of direct sun during February which was more than adequate. The location is south-central on the island and only about a two block walk to the beach. We will be back!
If you are going to be visiting Key West and need a vacation or long term rental I highly recommend Last Key Realty. I dealt with Lori and she was just awesome...great customer service skills and patience. She welcomes you at check-in and check-out. The morning I checked in she offered a coupon for Banana Café (which was delicious but that's a separate review), she also gives you a little tour of the property. You would think most realty companies do this but they don't, so taking the initiative to make me feel welcomed right from the start is something I don't take for granted. Also, any time I had some sort of technical difficulty in the house I received same day response/repair.
I stayed at Toba's Treehouse and I must say it was a great location; quiet neighborhood but still close to the action (though everything on this island is close to the action). Some stuff in the house could use some upgrading but overall I had a wonderful experience.
Grill, pool, sun, and family...it is paradise in Key West!
