About the Property
Townhome, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)
On the ground floor there is a fully-equipped kitchen with updated appliances, cheerfully painted cabinets, new stone countertops and open to the living/dining area. The living room has a comfy sectional for relaxing or watching TV, and there is a generously sized dining table with six sturdy chairs in the dining area. Adjacent to the living room is a glass-enclosed porch with more seating just a few feet away from the lake, a nice place to have coffee in the morning or relax with a glass of wine at night. For your convenience, there is also a full bath and a laundry room with washer and dryer. A small brick patio next to the driveway has a private outside shower, a line to hang wet bathing suits and a simple charcoal BBQ grill.
Upstairs, in addition to the 3 bedrooms and another full bath, there is a second glass-enclosed porch with a picturesque view of the lake.
The townhouse complex surrounds the northern side of Lake Comegys, a small fresh-water lake which is a wildlife refuge for osprey, blue heron, geese, turtles and other exotic wildlife. So bring your binoculars and your copy of “Field Guide to Birds of North America” and enjoy the serenity of the lake and its inhabitants. There is also a large, grassy common area where children can play and a small pier that juts out onto the lake.
Downtown Rehoboth offers lots of entertainment for the family: The classic boardwalk with souvenir shops, arcades, ice cream and candy stores including DOLLE’S, famous for its salt water taffy. Rehoboth’s FUNLAND is a great place to take the kids, enjoy the rides and the cotton candy. In addition to the typical T-shirt shops, there are also many upscale boutiques to be found along Rehoboth Avenue. Rehoboth has become a destination for dining out since expanding its offerings from Pizza and seafood places to sophisticated restaurants of all ethnic backgrounds.
If you feel adventurous, you can rent a sailboat or jet-ski, play miniature golf or go parasailing or biking. You can also shop tax free in downtown Rehoboth or drive two to three miles north on Route 1 to some of the best Delaware outlet stores.
Rehoboth and Dewey are within walking distance. But for those of you who don’t want to walk that far, the Jolly Trolley stops approximately two blocks from the house at Chesapeake Street and King Charles Avenue (A1A). For a nominal fare it will take you anywhere between the boardwalk at the end of Rehoboth Avenue and the Rusty Rudder Restaurant in Dewey Beach. The “Rudder”, as it is affectionately known, is located directly on the edge of Rehoboth Bay where you can enjoy watching the sun set over the water while having a great meal. It features live music, dancing on their deck, and a sumptuous land-and-sea buffet nightly. The Bottle and Cork also offers live entertainment throughout the summer for the “Rock-n-Rollers” in your group.
Available weekly, Saturday to Saturday. No pets and no smoking, please.
