Great location for lake view

  • 5 of 5

Cannot beat the location of this house. The deck was wonderful for gathering and watching the sunset. We had 5 adults and 1 toddler, with plenty of room for us. The stairs were a challenge for a 3 year old, but he got used to them after a few days. This is a classic Michiana beach house with dark wood paneling throughout, comfortable furniture, beach chairs/towels, a BBQ grill and a fully stocked kitchen. Al's Grocery had everything we needed for meals and snacks and the house is a short drive to Michigan City and New Buffalo. The owner was great to communicate with before and during our stay to answer any questions. Added bonus: deer, a groundhog/woodchuck, chipmunks in the yard and lightening bugs!

We enjoy sitting on the deck and watching the sunset over Lake Michigan! Easy access to the beach with plenty of towels, beach toys, kites, etc. available. We've been here twice and hope to come again!

This rental was everything we wanted it to be. It was accessible from Chicago , yet it definitely felt "out of town". There were plenty of activities, but none of the crowds. The beach and water were clean, and again, uncrowded. The porch was perfect for being social and we loved watching the sunsets and thunderstorms. The house is comfortable and large enough to accommodate many in one room, yet had enough space to allow some to slip off and read by themselves. The daily sightings of deer and occasional fox were bonus. If we can manage to find a time to get all of us in one place again, this would definitely be our destination. Thank you Gary and family!

Wonderful family vacation enjoyed by all!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I shared this lovely home, beautiful beach and view with our son, daughter, their souses and our 3 grandchildren and our pet dog. Truly a memorable vacation. The beach across the street was great because the little ones and the dog could venture in without fear of sudden deep water or strong tides. The sunsets were just SPECTACULAR! The house was clean, spacious and well kept. Nice kitchen and barbeque allowed us to cook in when we didn't feel like eating out. The owner/renter was very amicable and provided all that was promised. We would definitely consider renting again.

Incredible Vacation! The Lake Views, House and Owners were Awesome!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our vacation in this house. I grew up in this area in the 70's, and now live far away. We wanted to show the kids this area but wanted a house very close to the Lake, and this was perfect. The views from this deck are incredible! The owners were awesome; very good communication and we were pleasantly surprised when we walked inside.

The rooms were clean, bigger than we expected and the master bedroom with attached bath was much nicer than the pictures show online.

The view from the deck is clearly stated in other reviews... Incredible!

One morning as we were drinking our coffee, we saw a hummingbird feeding only a couple feet away from us! The beach was clean, and it felt like our own private beach. We had great campfires almost every night, the lake temperatures were pretty good and the short walk back to the house was extremely convenient.

The only two negatives were that the Kurig coffee machine didn't work and the doors and locks to enter the house were beyond "sticking". Other than that minor inconvenience, this house was incredible and we would love to return soon. Thanks for a great Family Vacation! I am sure we will remember it for years to come!
