A Cabin on the Hill built in the 1800's, served as a log church. It is the true way to recycle the old into new. The Log Home when the owners are not using it, it's used as a getaway serving as a unique place to stay for family and friends. It has the modern day comforts including WIFI and satellite TV, while keeping the integrity of what it was like to live in a cabin in 1842 when it was built. Breakfast food provided for first day stay along with many other amenities. Including a bottle of wine, firewood, maintained hiking trails, driving range, satellite tv in two rooms.
While remodeling, the owners restored an environmentally friendly cabin with green in mind by using logs from another old cabin for the porch, barnwood furniture, and creating a natural wildflower / wildlife sanctuary.

My Husband and I bought this getaway for ourselves so we could visit our mother without intrusion. We found it needed some upgrades from floors, bedrooms water well, bathrooms, and kitchen. Once we completed the 'green' upgrades hiring local carpenters, veterans and artists to do the job, we were satisfied, no - not quite, we put in thousands of wildflowers, our own little driving range, a claw foot tub. Our friends wanted to stay in the place, but wanted to pay. We said no way. That put the bug in our ear to share our cabin with those who want to own one, but not quite there yet. So we decided to really upgrade it to having the perfect cooking utensils and cookware, towels and even ironed linens for our guests. We offer so many amenities, guests usually call and ask for one more day to stay. If available and not booked, we give them a discount and extend their stay. Many guests say, this is a taste of heaven, a place to bond with friends and family and most of all a relaxing stress free vacation.

It's a pretty area in Wayne National Forest with lots to do or do nothing at all but relax. A piece of Heaven for everyone as many clients say! There are marked trails so you won't get lost while out strolling the hills while exercising those muscles. Crowded Tourists haven't quite discovered this area yet, because it is so unique and created for those who really want to soak in nature without all the hoopla or spending! It's a way for kids to really play, be creative, and enjoy each other. You make your own rules up as you go and be as creative as you want or sleep on the hammock, read a book or play cards. One of the few places to visit without all the hoopla or extra expenses. Kids are kids again, and adults become kids again. You can play your own baseball, croquet, horseshoes, and wade in the stream on the property. You can even climb trees, build a campfire, sing as loud as you want! You can also, take the day off and shop at boutique shops, or go to the nearby horse stables and canoe.
Many amenities are provided to make your stay comfortable. You get a bottle of wine, unlimited fresh coffee and herb tea, first morning breakfast for to cook, privacy on 90 acres, area to put tents if you want private camping, fully equipped kitchen, 2 bathrooms, several places to sleep for large families or friends. Great for nature lovers, antiquers, bikers, mountain biking, cross country skiers, privacy, hunters, artists, and honeymooners. If you want an amusement park and constantly attached to the wireless internet, this isn't the place for you. The local library does offer wireless internet. This is dog friendly. There are many trails some are quite hilly and some are flat - all cleaned off for your hiking pleasure. There is open space for your dog to run run run and play play play.
Great cabin getaway and exceptional owners, highly recommended! My wife and I (early 30s) and our dog spent 5 nights at A Cabin On the Hill in mid-December. We were looking for a secluded, relaxing, no-hassle, dog-friendly vacation within a few hours drive of Columbus; this fit our criteria perfectly and was a great value. Great balance between modern and rustic, surrounded by nature. Before we even got to the cabin, my interactions with Ginny were very encouraging. I contacted several cabins around OH and PA, and Ginny was the first to respond via email and phone. She promptly answered all my questions and provided very useful information and tips in her detailed welcome letter (and website). And after we left, she quickly sent me an email listing the items we forgot in the cabin and offered to go out of her way to return them! Our stay was greatly enhanced by all of the extra touches provided by Ginny. She and her husband clearly have a talent and passion for this business. We were welcomed by Christmas decorations and cupcakes, a wide variety of breakfast items that could have lasted us at least a week (probably more), nice wine selection for a very reasonable price (including a free bottle...we couldn't drink this trip so she gave us two gourmet bottles of sparkling lemonade!), dog treats/beds/towels, candles everywhere, lots of firewood/kindling/matches (and the outdoor stove and fire pit were already setup for us). The cabin itself was great for our needs. If you have a large group, keep in mind the following: two bathrooms but only one small shower (downstairs) and one tub (upstairs), not a huge living space so could get cramped but there are several beds upstairs (three in one room), large dining table and very nice porch that can accommodate many people. The standalone bathtub (also a requirement of ours) was nice, and again Ginny provided extras such as bubble bath, candles, even mood music. The master beds were very comfy with nice linens. Indoor gas fireplace and heating system kept the cabin cozy night and day. Well stocked kitchen, we cooked multiple meals everyday and the only thing we couldn't find was a cheese grater...just about everything else you could think of was available. We enjoyed the cabin grounds as much as the cabin itself. We walked a different trail in the woods almost everyday. My 6-yr old, arthritic dog acted like a puppy again, about as happy as I've ever seen her! We drank mulled cider b
