Good Location, But parking is a problem

  • 4 of 5

We checked into the rental office and the staff was pleasant and explained that there were only 7 parking spots for 12 units. It sounded like those 7 spots were available on a first come, first served basis. She gave us a permit to park in a lot behind the library, which is down the street and around the corner. There is very limited public parking in the area and this is a popular tourist area, so it was difficult to get a spot closer than the library lot. Since its super, pulling up just to unload was out of the question. We didn't have too much trouble unloading our stuff from the lot around the corner, but this could be an issue for some people. More of a concern was that this parking shortage created some uncomfortable situations for the guests. We returned to the condo midday to see an open spot in one of the seven and thought we could use it. Another guest came out to tell us that she was saving that spot and that we needed a different permit to use that spot. Not a big deal, because as I said earlier, we didn't have much of a problem unloading our stuff. However, when we got back to the condo, the woman was upset because she had complained to management that people where parked in the 7 spots without the special permit and she was told she couldn't hold a spot. Meanwhile, we were left wondering how the complex decides who gets the coveted 7 spots and why we weren't selected, especially since this is supposed to be the largest unit and has 2 bedrooms. Luckily, late at night, some nearby public spaces opened on our last night so we were able to easily pack up our car.

The condo itself was fine. There were some minor maintenance issues, but nothing that made an impact on our stay. It was well stocked and comfortable for our family. We were pleasantly surprised that the area gets really quiet after about 10, so we were able to rest soundly. Overall a good choice, but I wouldn't recommend to travelers with seniors or little ones in your group because the parking is an issue.

Great location

The location was great, but bedroom was noisy at night time. The beds were a little uncomfortable. Overall we had a great time and the unit is nice.

Great Stay!

  • 4 of 5

Our family of five stayed in Suite 201 for three nights in June. Check-in was convenient, with the property management company being only two doors down, and although check-in time is at 4:00, we were able to get into the unit when we arrived at noon. The property itself is cheerful, welcoming and very clean and comfortable. The kind of place you just feel at home in. It has everything you need in the kitchen and a small cooler, beach towels and beach chairs for the beach. The pool is a great feature, although we didn't use it too much--we spent most of our time on the beach, which is within a stone's throw of the property. Lots of restaurants and shopping within an easy walking distance too. The property was a little small for two adults and three teens, especially with only one bath. That's the only reason I'd rate the property a 4 instead of a 5. But for three nights it was totally doable. Highly recommend this property, and for crab-lovers, we highly recommend Cooter's for all you can eat snow crab night. (Get there early).

Awesome getaway...location was perfect. Close to beach and action. Unit and facilities where very clean. Staff was very helpful. When the beach was too hot, we hung out at the pool. Could not have been better. Great food in the area.

Great location, friendly staff, perfect beach getaway

  • 4 of 5

Pros: Location!!!, pool, all basic necessities are there, keypad entry instead of a key, washer/dryer, journal was fun, decor was great, and did I mention Location!!!!

Cons: no dishwasher, not cleaned the greatest: hair on floor in bathroom, dirt in living room. 5 cockroaches were found, was obvious they were being poisoned. So they were being dealt with. We are from MN so cockroaches are a bit of a shock, do understand it's a part of life for Southern states. Would be great for a small vacuum or new broom for cleaning up the sand. These small complaints/concerns do not even come close to overshadowing all the lovely things about this rental. I would gladly stay here again.
