Lovely home in central Lake Placid
This house accommodates a large group of families with ease. Lovely rustic decor in all rooms and a feel of being in the Adirondacks. The very large dinning room and table were wonderful for a large dinner we hosted for 6 families. Driveway was ample for multiple cars and grounds were open with space to run around. Great having many bathrooms but the function of the showers in most was on the antique to poor quality. Still we were able to shower in a vintage feel.
Grand Lake Placid Home
Just spent a long ski weekend at Cedar Crest and had a great time. This house is one in a million, with it's taxidermy animals all around including a full size bear in the entry hall. It is gigantic with six bedrooms and the already mentioned entry hall that as big as a small house!
I rented this house years ago so I knew what to expect, there is a huge front and back yard which were great for parking all the cars and playing with the dog. In the interest of not disappointing anybody, I should say this is an almost hundred year old house that retains many of the fixtures and furniture from distant past. I love this style and charm but if you are looking for state of the art, this may not be your cup of tea. I look forward to renting it in the warmer months someday.
Perfect for a group
We were a group of 6 couples looking for a week end getaway. This place was perfect with lots of room for gathering, whether it was by the fire, in the kitchen, or around the big dining room table. Easy walk to downtown. Very well stocked kitchen and very clean. We highly recommend
So glad everyone enjoyed themselves!!!thanks for leaving the house in great shape and for such a nice review! !!
Too much taxidermy. Bathrooms are not great. Not full 4 1/2 baths. Mostly good, great porch.
you can clearly see from the pictures that this is an adirondack house with taxidermy,3 pieces not to much for a 10.0000 sq. ft. house. they should have been able to see that this is not a new house. think they were looking for modern and this is not it
BEAUTIFUL adirondack retreat for a large group
What a perfect example of a "Great Adirondack Camp". It is filled with beautiful antiques, comfortable furniture and beds and everything you need for ADK mountain experience! It is very clean, well maintained and the location is perfect. The large back porch is the perfect place for any time of day...wait until you see it!!!! We have rented many times in the Adirondacks but this far surpassed any other. Thanks to Jim and Jan for a wonderful memory.
My wife and I and four adult children had a great getaway to this classic home. There was so much room that we had to look for each other. We had family visit and there was still room. The kitchen was great, with all the utensils you would ever need. The back yard was huge and the back porch was where everyone congregated and there was still room !! Jan and Jim were marvelous hosts and could not have been nicer. The town of Lake Placid is a short walk away. We will definitely be back.
