About Linda Van Haren

Welcome to my beach house. I am the Finance and Operations Director for a submarine fiber optic consulting firm and love to travel.

Linda Van Haren purchased this townhome in 2011

Why Linda Van Haren chose Florida North East

I purchased this beautiful townhome on the beach in May 2011. I have been coming to Amelia Island since 2004 - absolutely love the place.

What makes this townhome unique

Walking the beach, kayaking, having a beverage on the porch in the evening, and then eating at one of the fine restaurants downtown is my idea of a good day.

Best VRBO property yet-and we've done this several years+

  • 5 of 5

Our family arrived to be enchanted by this property. First, we will share what was so particularly special about the property itself. The front deck is spacious with an incredible view of the ocean, and a very well laid out and functional design for family, couple, or even a few guests. The ongoing ocean breeze is this location cannot be replicated-we have been and lived on numerous West and East coast beaches. The master bedroom has an unbelievable ocean view, with a great office nook that makes you feel like you are almost jutting out into the ocean itself. It also contains a smaller and more private balcony. The house is beautifully and tastefully decorated, with special decorative features throughout like a port hole window and stained glass windows. Appliances were all newer and in good working order. The 2nd bedroom was a big hit with the kids, with an on suite bathroom and generous bunks. The beach itself was spectacular. You simply cross an extremely small, barely utilized, sand frontage road, hop over a dune, to a beautiful, spacious, and almost semi private like beach. Even on 4th of July week, we were at least 200 yards from our nearest neighbor yet the beach maintained a lifeguard. We enjoyed the warm ocean waters, shell hunting, and even found an occasional shark tooth. The owner is extremely gracious. They even keep it stocked with beach towels, chairs, games, boogie boards etc. Our teen and 7 year old had so much fun each day at this beach, which is saying a lot for having a teen, they begged us not to go into town and leave the beach, property, and balcony. That being said, the town is conveniently located (just several minutes by car), is charming, has plenty of restaurant selections with great food, and some cute shops. Ft. Clinch is practically next door-it would be a 1/2 hour walk down the beach or a few minute car ride to see the impressive historic fort, 1/2 mile long pier, and great beaches. Boat rentals in the area were very reasonable and we had a great adventure going to an uninhabited island and shell hunting and exploring. TPC Sawgrass and St Augustine are an hour by car. My family and I love new adventures, so we have never considered going back to a VRBO property again only for this reason-but this one would be the exception endorsed by all. This is a great property not only for families, but would serve as a very cozy, special, and romantic get away. We are very pleased to highly endorse this property!

Comfort, relaxation, and enjoyment.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I (along with our sweet lab) recently stayed in this beautiful and charming townhome on Fernandina Beach. It was one of our best vacations ever. The accomodations were exactly as listed, except everything was roomier. It is beautifully decorated and no small detail was overlooked to make sure our stay was as perfect as possible. Linda was a delight to work with in booking the reservation, and made us want to come back for many future stays. Thank you for sharing this wonderful oasis with us.

Exactly what we needed!

  • 5 of 5

The view, decor, neighbors and location are perfect! Everything we wanted in a vacation was right here. After visiting this part of Amelia Island I think we are ruined for anywhere else. Not commercial or noisy. Reminded me of a local little beach town where people can relax and enjoy the surroundings; however, you don't have to go far to find music, food, Walmart, mcdonalds, groceries, local shops, docks, etc.

SERENITY, SUN, PEACEFUL!!!

  • 5 of 5

I HAVE STAYED NOW IN A TOTAL OF 2 OTHER BEACH HOMES IN FERNANDINA, AND 2 DIFFERENT CONDOS, AND THIS, BY FAR, IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST. REASONS WHY:

1) THE HOME IS BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED...NO TACKY BEACH DECOR...SOOTHING YELLOWS & SEAFOAM COLORED WALLS, COMFY, PLUSH FURNITURE, COZY THROWS, PLUMP AND CUSHY BEDS, ALL MAKE FOR A WONDERFUL VISUAL AND COMFORTABLE EXPERIENCE...

2) THE HOME HAS EVERYTHING, I MEAN EVERYTHING...LITTLE DETAILS ARE NOT IGNORED, THERE WAS EVEN SHAMPOO/CONDITIONER IN THE SHOWER! YOU NEED ONLY BRING YOUR SWIMSUIT!

3) THE OWNERS ARE SO FRIENDLY, SO NICE...AND SO HELPFUL. EVERY QUESTION I HAD WAS PROMPTLY ANSWERED. I REALLY DON'T LIKE TO RENT FROM ANYONE WHO MAKES YOU FEEL AS THOUGH THEY ARE DOING YOU A FAVOR BY LETTING YOU STAY THERE. HERE, THEY MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE A HONORED GUEST.

4) VIEWS, VIEWS, SO CLOSE TO THE OCEAN...THE VIEW FROM THE PORCHES AND OUT THE WINDOWS ARE JUST GORGEOUS.

5) PEACE AND QUIET- IF YOU WANT PARTIES AND NOISE, GO TO ANOTHER BEACH...AMELIA ISLAND IS SO SOOTHING, PEACEFUL, AND QUIET. THE NEIGHBORS HERE ALL RESPECT THAT, TOO. RESTED SO WELL AT NIGHT!

6) THE FERNANDINA AREA IS JUST BEAUTIFUL...BEEN COMING HERE SINCE THE 60'S, STILL LOVE IT! SO MUCH TO DO, OR DO NOTHING IF YOU WANT...JUST SOAK UP THE SUN AND DAYDREAM....

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALLOWING ME TO COME INTO YOUR HOME, WILL DEF. BE BACK SOON!!!

Hope to Come Again

Our family has been coming to Amelia Island for the past several years. We stayed in this home and loved every minute. It is beautifully decorated and in a quiet part of the island. We hope to return here every summer!

Loved it here!

  • 5 of 5

We also have 3 kids and this place made me feel like we were in a movie...the design and decor just are the perfect setting to enjoy the beach. Our girls were old enough to play on the beach while we watched from the front porch and most days (during the spring) we had the beach to ourselves! We loved it here and hope to come back soon!
