Detroit Lake Lodge May 2017

  • 4 of 5

Had a fantastic time staying at Detroit Lake Lodge this year. This is our second time staying here and I hope to make it an Annual event! Lodge itself is quite comfortable and makes for wonderful relaxation after a day spent on Detroit Lake; Large kitchen with surround counter top next to the massive fireplace and open floor plan living areas connect to the deck offering great views of the lake and bird sanctuary (we spent most of the time at the Lodge out on the deck). Besides all the Canadian Geese, Ducks, and Osprey we had a Bald Eagle take up residence in a tree next to the property - one morning he must have had a full belly as he perched for over an hour. Day Flats park is only a 100 yards from the Driveway and running into town is a 2 minute drive or 10 minute walk with access to good restaurants, a couple small grocery stores, and Gas. Santiam Hwy is also a 2 minute drive from the Lodge. This year we headed East to Marion Forks (16 miles from Detroit) for a day trip and hiked up to Marion Lake (6 mile drive off Hwy 22 on Marion Creek Rd, then a 3 mile hike from the trailhead to Marion Lake) where I used to camp when I was a kid.

Comfortable, rustic, and great for a group.

  • 5 of 5

A group of us stayed here for 5 days/4 nights. It is a wonderful rustic home close to the lake and the mountains. The layout of the living room/fireplace/kitchen area is ideal for group use.

Great cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time. The cabin was clean and spacious. Some small annoyances but nothing that would keep us from renting it again.

Really enjoyed my stay here. A few hiccups when arriving but the property owners helped me immediately with any problems. It was super nice and everything I needed for my weekend retreat. I definitely want to return here again!

This place is sweet

  • 4 of 5

So we got there and there was a lot of snow built up so we couldn't get all the way up the driveway, but we did get about half way up to walk our stuff inside. The entry was easy but the alarm went off...we immediately called Kendra and it was remotely turned off. This was the first of a few times we had to call and they were totally accommodating. Plenty of firewood to use we just had to get it out from under the snow. Great hosts!!!

Beautiful house, beautiful master bedroom and shower, lovely upstairs rooms and loft, fantastic great room. Wifi spotty, but we brought games to play. This was a great escape for the holidays with my family. We'd stay again!
