About Nate and Kendra Lindell

Native Oregonian Nate Lindell and his wife Kendra, have spent countless hours on Detroit Lake and in the neighboring forests and invite you to experience one of Oregon's great natural treasures—beautiful Detroit Lake. Lodge at Detroit Lake

  • 4 of 5

We loved the large, spacious home just minutes' walk from the lake, with plenty of room for the eight of us (three couples, two small kids)! Great kitchen for cooking, warm, lodg-y ambience, natural surroundings, fun firepit area for roasting marshmallows, good AC for summer! We moored our boat at the marina in town (five minutes' drive), and kayaked from the nearby day-use park just down the road on the lake. And the lake is gorgeous, clear and clean.

I did not give five stars for reasons including: microwave not functioning (due to missing rotating glass mechanism), kitchen floor dusty/dirty, freezer bin dirty, no washcloths in master bath, little tv in bunk room does not work. These were minor issues however, and I would definitely stay here again.

Detroit Lake Lodge May 2017

  • 4 of 5

Had a fantastic time staying at Detroit Lake Lodge this year. This is our second time staying here and I hope to make it an Annual event! Lodge itself is quite comfortable and makes for wonderful relaxation after a day spent on Detroit Lake; Large kitchen with surround counter top next to the massive fireplace and open floor plan living areas connect to the deck offering great views of the lake and bird sanctuary (we spent most of the time at the Lodge out on the deck). Besides all the Canadian Geese, Ducks, and Osprey we had a Bald Eagle take up residence in a tree next to the property - one morning he must have had a full belly as he perched for over an hour. Day Flats park is only a 100 yards from the Driveway and running into town is a 2 minute drive or 10 minute walk with access to good restaurants, a couple small grocery stores, and Gas. Santiam Hwy is also a 2 minute drive from the Lodge. This year we headed East to Marion Forks (16 miles from Detroit) for a day trip and hiked up to Marion Lake (6 mile drive off Hwy 22 on Marion Creek Rd, then a 3 mile hike from the trailhead to Marion Lake) where I used to camp when I was a kid.
