Come enjoy this beautiful, sunny and spacious home on the boardwalk at Mariner's Point in South Mission Beach - close to the action, yet quiet and peaceful.

Located on Bayside Walk on the “bay side” of Mission Bay, this top-level duplex offers two large decks and many window from which to enjoy the view of Mariner’s Cove, the sunrise, moored yachts and much of the South Mission Beach area of San Diego. A few steps takes you to the sand, the bay and the boardwalk. Being “bay side” as the locals say, offers a quiet and peaceful environment, perfect for families and others looking for a chance to relax. Those looking for a place to surf or bodysurf can walk 2 short blocks to the West to the ocean to enjoy the sunset and waves.

The beach house has a large living area with extra seating, 2 tables inside for eating, games and puzzles, a wood-burning fireplace and a wet bar. A washer and dryer are included to dry beach towels and swimsuits for the next day.

A local park is just steps away with swings, picnic tables and lots of extra parking for visitors. The rental comes with a small garage (stores bikes, chairs, etc.) and an off-street parking spot.

The Mission Beach and Mission Bay communities are centrally located in San Diego for easy access to San Diego County's most popular attractions including, SeaWorld, San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, Seaport Village, La Jolla, Downtown San Diego/Gaslamp, Coronado, Del Mar Racetrack/Fairgrounds, Old Town, and much more. Sailboat, powerboat and jet ski rentals are located on and around the Bay.

With 3 bedrooms and sleeping for 10, this beach house is large and family-friendly – perfect for a family vacation, or couples weekend. Sorry, no parties and no events of any size. Mission Beach is densely populated and sound travels easily. Please note there is a city-imposed noise ordinance from 10pm-8am.

Refer to the calendar to the right for availability - we update it regularly.

Additional photos available on request.

If you're not familiar with Mission Beach, it is under the flight path for departures from San Diego airport. The airport operates with a curfew, but please know that you do hear and see the planes as they fly over Mission Beach.

Sorry, no pets.

Hidden gem

  • 5 of 5

This is our second time staying here with our 3YO twins. Since they were scarred to stay in a room by themselves the rollaway beds in the master closet worked perfectly in the huge master bedroom. The jetted tub in the master was perfect for them to take a bath together as it was huge. Plenty of beach towels, beach toys, surf boards,BBQ grill with plenty of propane ,boogie boards, kayaks, umbrella, and awesome view of bay from 2 kid friendly decks. The heated outdoor shower was a huge hit for the twins to clean up after a day at the bay. Went to Seaworld, rented a boat at Bahia resort, and played at arcade in Belmont Park, all of which was an easy drive when not staying close to the rental. The playground is awesome and the kids loved running to it every morning when they woke up. Talking to the local moms at the playground and bay I came to realize it is never very crowed unlike other parts of mission beach/bay.

Patty is very easy to work with and when we had a problem with the wifi she had someone come out to fix it right away. I informed her that my twins broke a plate and her boogie boards and offered to pay for them. She basically told me that it was not necessary. I've rented several vrbo properties in SD county and it's sooo refreshing not to get nickel and dimed on minor damage. It makes it so much easier to enjoy your vacation.

Thanks for everything Patty. Tell Erik thanks for his help on the wifi. We look forward to coming back next October.

Million Dollar View, Gorgeous Bayfront Home, South Mission Bay

  • 5 of 5

Perfectly beautiful bay front home with all the kid/adult, water/beach toys/equipment, and bikes you would want! We enjoyed a spectacular view of bay, beach, and park, with easy steps down to enjoy water, beach, park activities, or short walk to the pacific ocean side. Plenty of base provisions were provided throughout. Grilling was easy and meals were enjoyed on the spacious furnished balcony as well as magnificent view of Sea World fireworks on two nights! Spread out and quiet bedrooms within the multilevel home made for easy infant care. We sure appreciated our stay and thank the generous easy to work with owners!!

Raleigh Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

WOW- Sit on the balcony and enjoy the truly MILLION DOLLAR view! The bay beach access was perfect for our grandkids. the Mission Beach area is entertaining and lively. The house is classic San Diego beach style; multiple porches, outdoor seating, great breezes and wonderful accommodations. Beds were comfortable and there were multiple added cots for your use. The garage was full of bikes, kayaks, paddle boards and sand toys. While there was only one parking spot, nearby Mission Point Park provided overflow parking less than 5 min walk away. Great spot for families like ours!

With nice but not so nice

  • 3 of 5

I was the family that joined the comment family below and concur 100%. I wish to add that prospective renters need to know about the many skylights in the master bedroom, assuming one could sleep through the non-stop flights of San Diego airport but were sensitive to 5:45 a.m. sun up. As far as the neighbors downstairs, it was barely three weeks before our departure (we reserved and were fully paid for many months before) that our movements upstairs were completed dictated by full time renters downstairs. Too bad that the landlord didn't inform them that the upstairs was a vacation rental and they were taking on the burden, not the unknowing vacationer. The view was terrific, well stocked, beds were very comfortable and big enough for two families. Kayaks were really nice.

House Needs Some Updates

  • 3 of 5

It does have a million dollar view and it is a pretty bayfront Condo. My family and friends stayed in this home in the prime vacation period of the first week of August. The location of this condo is a prime spot on Mission Bay. The view is unbelievable and the condo is stocked with everything you could imagine. However, this is an upstairs condo which I must give a warning to future renters. The wife of the people below (also full time renters) IS NOT NICE. We stayed with four adults and four EXTREMELY quiet and well behaved teenagers. Our first night in this condo after going out for dinner the 4 adults were quietly talking on the very peaceful balcony having a glass of wine when the lady below screamed at us to "SHUT UP" slamming her doors and windows. The are retired by the way. When I brought this up to the manager I was told that we must go inside at 10pm and close all doors and windows. Excuse me?? I'm on vacation and I am being told to go inside in an un-air conditioned unit, shut all doors and windows and try to be quiet???? Ummmm I DONT THINK SO!!! We pulled the binder inside and also noticed we also were not to wash dishes, do laundry in the morning or evening or walk heavily because of the renters below get disturbed. TOO BAD! To say I was uncomfortable staying there is an understatement. It definetly ruined our stay. Also, you are in the flight path of the San Diego airport. You will wake up every morning at 6am to the airplanes taking off for a good hour. You will not get to sleep here. Now for some good points. The condo is very large and decorated very nicely. The carpet in the living area is not good! Although other renters have mentioned that the place needs new carpet and ceiling fans because if you have to close your windows in July or August at 10 p.m. you will be VERY HOT and stuffy, I don't believe the owners have put anything back into this condo is a long time. Also be prepared...the propane tanks...all 3 of them were empty. The garage does have ALOT of toys and bikes for the beach but we had to clean the garage out to find things. We opened the door and were quite shocked. Items were just piled in the garage with no sense of organization. The kayacks were awesome and the best part of our vacation!!!! This could be a FIVE STAR vacation place but it needs some things addressed. Also, if you want the fire pit..you better set an alarm clock for 4am to get it. We were only able to use it 2 out of the 7.

Owner's Response: While some things are simply out of our control, we do our best to provide a comfortable rental home for our guests. To that end, the carpet will be replaced and a ceiling fan will be installed in the dining area in the next 1-2 months. We do ask for consideration towards our neighbors as it is a quiet, family-friendly neighborhood in Mission Beach but also want to be sure our guests enjoy their stay. We provide ongoing maintenance to the house as necessary, and therefore would like to thank you for taking the time to provide feedback.

Such a perfect place!!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this beautiful property for two weeks with both friends and family and found it to be the perfect getaway. Everything was exactly as listed and many things were better! Our kids had the choice of several roll away beds and we all had plenty of room to spread out. They had more bikes, kayaks, sand toys etc than we could use and there is no better spot for kids on the bay. We can't wait to book again for next year! I really can't say enough about our experience here. Thanks!!
