Overall layout and sleeping spaces of the home were great for our party. The proximity to the pool was great. Really enjoyed the huge kitchen and the smart home controls were easy to use and didn’t have any issues with streaming music or watching the big game.
Would love to be back again.
Defiantly recommend this house
This was our first time at Sancadia, we absolutely loved it. The house we stayed in had everything we needed, we love to cook and the kitchen was a dream, spacious, had all utensils that we needed. The house was very clean very nice designed. Definitely the price you pay for it worth it. I would use this lodge again, maybe at summer time.
Grand Fir Lodge is everything you can imagine in a gorgeously appointed mountain-style lodge.
My writing group uses the lodge every year for a retreat where we work on our latest books, share information, and support each other as PNW authors. The house and property surrounding the lodge are perfect for our quiet, private retreat.
Not only are there loads of sleeping options, from a luxurious Master Bedroom and Ensuite, to a cozy bunkroom, but there are enough bathrooms and tucked-away nooks for everyone to spread out in. The master chef-style kitchen has everything needed including two dishwashers, a second island sink and every cooking tool you could imagine. We cook elaborate meals while at the lodge and have never wanted for anything except maybe a calorie extractor.
The suite over the garage is a little slice of heaven and privacy for anyone needing quiet, and provides a great a view of the deer who visit the property daily on that side of the house. Although we don't turn on the TV's, there are many and the cozy den is a perfect media room off the great room.
This year we jumped in the hot tub and enjoyed watching elk cruise by on the golf course in front of the house. We also walked to Swiftwater Winery to do some tasting on the last day and ended up having a last night dance party using the iPad built in to the house-wide sound system.
There are a couple of bikes in the garage, a ping pong table, loads of movies, books, board games, and although we didn't use any of these, we did appreciate the extremely speedy internet, loads of wall plugs, the view, the lack of neighbors, the fireplaces, the sumptuous bed linens and pillows, the large dining room table and many chairs, the window seat in the Great Room, the artwork, and the speed with which the owner, Pat, responds to a question.
Thanks to the Suncadia gang for making our stay another successful writers' retreat. Love Grand Fir Lodge!
Great family vacation
Grand Fir Lodge is a great house for multiple families to come together and yet have quiet spaces. Kitchen was very well equipped as was the entire house, including the 2 bikes in the garage that enabled us to add to those we brought so that more adults could ride at once. We loved having the trail so close, and we discovered that the park was fabulous for the children. On the last day, we took all 5 grand children on the shuttle which was a fun experience. We rode bikes, hiked, went to the lodge for s'mores, swam a lot, walked, used the fitness center, explored Roslyn, and took turns cooking. The children enjoyed the playroom and hide and seek, and we all slept well in our comfortable and private spaces. Thank you for the online manuals that helped us know several details about the house before we arrived. Our stay was fun and relaxing thanks to a great house and being together.
The Grand Fir Lodge
For the last 6 years I have organized a May golf trip for 16 friends. The last four years we have stayed at The Grand Fir Lodge. The lodge is amazing build with impressive carpentry and stone work. It is really a top shelf experience with a fabulous view of the 13th hole at Prospector.
It has a Great Room, perfect for relaxing and talking about how the days golfing went.
There is a large Hot Tub, for taking care of sore muscles. It has a high end whole house entertainment system.
When our annual golf trip was first conceived we anticipated traveling to different locations each year. Since staying at Suncadia’s Grand Fir Lodge we have made that our tradition. At the time of writing this, I just got back from our fourth trip, and I am already in the process of booking a return trip next year.
If I had to criticize anything about the lodge, it would be that it’s hard to park 12 cars there. Suncadia gets touchy about parking cars on the street. That said I don’t know of any house available for rent at Suncadia where you could easily park 12 cars. We will just have to do a better job of carpooling. This place is worth it.
Perfect home for a large group!
Our girls group of 15 friends from high school have stayed at this gorgeous home for five years in a row now. The house is spotless, and the kitchen is perfect for our large group. We love that we can all fit at the table and bar seating for our meals together. The hot tub is great, the view is beautiful, the beds are comfortable, and the house is full of amenities. We also appreciate the free shuttle service to the winery! Pat's customer service is outstanding, as he always goes above and beyond to make sure our stay is perfect. Very highly recommend!
