About Bill and Liz

I am a retired Art Professor and my wife, Liz, is a jewelry artist. We moved here from Harbor Island South Carolina about 10 years ago. I have digital prints at the Asheville Gallery of Art , Burr Studio in Waynesville and Miya gallery in Weaverville, I am also an adjunct instructor at AB Tech Community College. Liz has her lampwork beads and jewelry at the Iron Horse in Hot Springs and the Burr Studio. We are currently sharing our home with three cats and a golden retriever puppy called Madison.

Bill and Liz purchased this cabin in 2010

Why Bill and Liz chose Smoky Mountains

This cabin is about a quarter mile from our home. Since we have lived here for almost ten years it seemed natural to share this location with others. It is really a great place with a rushing creek, some cows, turkeys and deer as well as steep mountains all around. It is close to the town of Hot Springs and a comfortable drive to Asheville, Waynesville and Marshall. It is so remote and quiet compared to the activity of the city.

Nice place to get away

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is exactly as described and the hosts are very friendly. Make sure you spend some time down by the creek where they have put easy chairs and a hammock (we enjoyed cigars and bourbon on a lazy afternoon). They have put together the best notebook of things to do I have ever found in a vacation rental. (Fisherpersons, remember that the creek is stocked in April and pretty much fished out by May.)

Such a beautiful place to relax and unwind!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay in the Creek View cabin. Bill welcomed us upon arrival and was available for anything we needed. The cabin has everything you need to enjoy your time, but you will probably end up spending all of your time outside like we did. We enjoyed fishing and exploring the creek and property with our small dog most of all. Downtown hot springs is a 30 minute nite drive and has some cool shops and a craft beer store.

Everything we were looking for.

  • 5 of 5

Bill and Liz's cabin was perfect. It was everything we were looking for. A peaceful getaway with a beautiful and private setting. The cabin had everything we needed. The chairs by the creek were used often as a place to read or just relax. Thanks Bill and Liz for letting us stay at your beautiful place.

Cozy cabin on beautiful property

  • 4 of 5

*This remote cabin was cute and cozy with a beautiful scenic view. It has a beautiful stream that you can see and listen to from the front porch. The rustic barn, pasture and fire pit also made the property beautiful. It is a drive from town so I suggest to get what you need while in town. The cabin though did have the essentials needed for cooking like utensils, silverware, etc. We loved our stay and the owners were nice and accommodating while still providing us with privacy.

tiny private space

  • 4 of 5

This house is "country close" to Hot Springs with a long switch-back-y road in between. Bring what you need because you will not want to run out in the middle of the night and drive in to Hot Springs! The home is clean, small and cozy. The owner is available and friendly. He also sells his art which you can see some of in the cabin.

I LOVE the large walk out deck! The sun rose on the non-bedroom side of the house so it was nice to not be blasted first thing in the morning. The skylight in the living room allowed for lots of natural light.

The cabin is conveniently close to the only road in the area but still far enough back to be private. The stream is beautiful and peaceful. There is an empty field and old barn near by adding to its private feeling. This cabin is perfect for a couple or small family get away!

Serene, Beautiful and Convenient

  • 5 of 5

Loved Bill and Liz's cabin in the mountains. It was also very nice to meet Bill, he is so helpful, hospitable and a great artist too. The place was clean and very well maintained. It is very conveniently located, close to the town but far enough to enjoy privacy. We will try and visit it again and will also recommend it to our friends.
