Overview

About the property

House, Studio + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

This house is the real thing! The home is over one hundred years old. The original owners of this house dug the dirt and baked the adobe bricks themselves to build their house. This authentic 500 square foot home has not been overly remodeled maintaining the feel of Santa Fe's old world charm. The location could not be better on the historic east side. Our guests have been coming back and requesting this little charmer for 15 years now!

Quiet and secluded, the house is only 1 1/2 blocks to Canyon Road by the art gallery district and where some of my favorite restaurants are, and less than a mile, approximately a 12-15 minute walk to the famed Plaza. You will stay 1/2 block to one of Santa Fe's local’s favorite bookstore and coffee shop. This casita is the first of the growing inventory of "Two Casitas," furnished and painted in Mexican style, this spacious studio features a king size bed, flat screen cable TV and comfortable sleeper sofa in the same room, brick floors with a gorgeous Russian sumac rug. The house is graced with original paintings by well-known local artists such as famed Phyllis Kapp of Waxlander gallery (owner of Two Casitas, Wendy Kapp's mother.) This casita offers a full and separate kitchen and dining area. Casa Paloma has a private bath with a shower only. Warm yourself by the gas-burning fireplace or in the hot tub. Soak up the sun on the front portal, or porch. Double French doors open up into your large back yard as well. Watch the sun set and gaze at all the stars from mhere. Flag stone patio table and chairs with barbeque, a shared yet completely private and enclosed hot tub with the three-bedroom house next door. Maraposa. Paloma casita is a very private and separate guesthouse from the main house. If you have a larger party, you can also rent the Maraposa all at the same address in this compound.

Additional fees on this property are 15.456% tax. and a one time cleaning fee of $75.

About Two Casitas, Santa Fe Vacation Rentals, Wendy Kapp

A note from Wendy Kapp- Owner of Two Casitas Santa Fe Vacation Rentals

Having been raised in Chicago, my soul longed for the massive blue skies and mountains I first saw when my mother, well-known watercolor artist Phyllis Kapp of Waxlander Gallery, introduced me to this magnificent area when I was 6 years old.

While returning west in 1975, I came through Santa Fe and fell in love with Northern New Mexico once again. I found the people here, especially back in '75, to be the most authentic people I had ever met and I decided to make Santa Fe my home. My extensive knowledge from living here for since 1975 makes me the perfect, local hostess to give you tips on making your stay memorable. I hope you come to love Santa Fe and, in-turn Two Casitas, as much as I do.

Two Casitas, Santa Fe Vacation Rentals, Wendy Kapp purchased this house in 1998

Why Two Casitas, Santa Fe Vacation Rentals, Wendy Kapp chose Santa Fe

Location, location, location is why I chose these homes for our visitors. We want our guests to have the convenience of walking everywhere.

What makes this house unique

When you stay with Two Casitas you stay like a local, not like a tourist, and experience Santa Fe like you live here. Who knows, maybe you will someday!

GREAT LOCATION & WONDERFUL BACK YARD!

  • 4 of 5

This darling studio casita has a great location. It's just off of the beautiful Canyon Road galleries, and walk a little further to the downtown square and museum areas. The amenities are great, including an outdoor hot tub and a beautiful backyard and garden with nice outdoor seating. The kitchen is well-stocked and the bathroom, although not large, is quite sufficient. The bed is very comfortable, and the customer service was always available. The negatives are not many. The wifi gave us trouble there. It wasn't able to connect with our server, but our wifi was fine elsewhere. The painting needs to be redone as it looks old, but we really didn't mind that since the apartment was very clean. You should ask if the owners have given the renters next door a different key code from the key code on this studio apartment. We found out by accident they have the same code, so we reported that to the owners. They said they would change that right away. We will stay here again when we return.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review! We're glad that you enjoyed your stay, overall! Santa Fe has poor infrastructure for internet, so it's not uncommon for internet trouble to arise. We apologize that it was an inconvenience! We are always in the process of fixing up Paloma, and a paint job is definitely on the list. And yes, the Keypad code has been changed. We hope to see you in Santa Fe again some time soon!

Great location, clean and cute property with everything we needed.

  • 4 of 5

The casita felt like an authentic Santa Fe experience and the location was great for getting to Canyon Road (a few blocks) and the Square (about a mile). We walked nearly everywhere we wanted to go.

Perfect Studio for Santa Fe

  • 5 of 5

Great studio- accurate description and pictures regarding the house. Cleaning was immaculate when we checked in and everything seemed to be well maintained and in order. Such a good location! Everything within walking distance that Santa Fe generally has to offer and so close to both the historic plaza area as well as the arts of Canyon Road. Lastly, the property management company Two Castitas themselves offered exceptional customer service and we appreciated their help and response.

Wonderful Christmas Stay

  • 5 of 5

We could not have been more pleased! Charming adobe studio, a perfect size for two people. Only a five minute walk to Canyon Rd, this property is in an ideal location. The gas fireplace kept us warm and cozy while the Christmas snow fell. The folks at Two Casitas were accessible and accommodating. We'd like to return at a warmer time, so we could enjoy the lovely courtyard.

Wonderful Santa Fe getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I couldn't have been happier with our stay at Paloma in Santa Fe. Near to everything we wanted to do, mostly within walking distance, our casita was tucked away in a picturesque and quiet neighborhood. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and some southwest snacks which we enjoyed in the private back yard on a beautiful October evening. And we enjoyed the hot tub a little later when the evening cooled way down. Aside from the comfortable and "Santa Fe style" accommodations we were really impressed by service we received from Wendy and her terrific staff. They really wanted to be sure that we had everything we needed. Old-fashioned customer service and it was an unexpected addition to our mini-vacation. Hopefully, we will be back at the same time next year. We both highly recommend this wonderful place!

Owner's Response: What a wonderful review! Thank you thank you. October is a perfect time to visit Santa Fe. Just cool enough to enjoy the hot tub and warm enough to enjoy the foliage and walk around during the day under our sunny blue skies. I am so glad you and your girlfriend had a great time in Santa Fe and enjoyed the lovely vacation rental Paloma. I was thrilled that I got the chance to meet you and her. Her name is Wendy as well. Not to many Wendys around which made the meeting that much more fun. Hey never to early to book in Santa Fe so if you want to come back next year just give me a call for a repeat guest special. :-) With warm regards, Wendy and the Two Casitas team
