About the property

Condo, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

With courage, hardship and determination the ancestors of our cities tri-cultural people all traveled up the Historic Old Santa Fe Trail making our unique city the place it is today. Now you can stay in this lovely Southwest-style home right off this famous trail with all the comforts of modern living. The elegant design gives light and beauty to this spacious 1,100 square foot casa. Architectural elegance is obvious when you enter with its high ceilings, double French doors opening onto two private completely enclosed patios adding to the sophisticated ambiance of this home and safety of this pet friendly home.

The bedroom has a king bed, and there is a comfortable sleeper sofa in the living room, which is also equipped with a flat screen TV. There is a full kitchen and a lovely round antique table in the dinning room. A kiva fireplace, vigas, bath with shower and tub featuring Mexican tiles, brick and floors are some of the homes other features. For those of you with sophisticated taste, yet still enjoying the flavor and details of the Old West, I highly recommend Casa Old Santa Fe Trail with only a 15 minute walk to the end of the trail where the famed Plaza is (.8 miles). You are about a 20 minute walk (1.4 miles) to Canyon Road as well as this part of the historic south capital neighborhood boarders with the east side.

Additional fees on this property are 9.456% tax and a one time cleaning fee of $100.

About Wendy Kapp

A note from Wendy Kapp- Owner of Two Casitas Santa Fe Vacation Rentals

Having been raised in Chicago, my soul longed for the massive blue skies and mountains I first saw when my mother, well-known watercolor artist Phyllis Kapp of Waxlander Gallery, introduced me to this magnificent area when I was 6 years old.

While returning west in 1975, I came through Santa Fe and fell in love with Northern New Mexico once again. I found the people here, especially back in '75, to be the most authentic people I had ever met and I decided to make Santa Fe my home. My extensive knowledge from living here for since 1975 makes me the perfect, local hostess to give you tips on making your stay memorable. I hope you come to love Santa Fe and, in-turn Two Casitas, as much as I do.

Wendy Kapp purchased this condo in 1999

Why Wendy Kapp chose Historic Eastside

Location, location, location is why I chose these homes; walk everywhere.

What makes this condo unique

When you stay with Two Casitas you stay like a local, not like a tourist, and experience Santa Fe like you live here. Who knows, maybe you will someday!

Great Escape!

  • 5 of 5

Great little townhouse, designed in the traditional Santa Fe style, within walking distance to everything downtown. The unit has a comfortable living room, dining room and full kitchen. A wonderful kiva fireplace and outside courtyard add to the charm of this unit.

Cute and well equipped casita, with good proximity to town.

  • 4 of 5

Very nice casita which looks as pictured. Key left in a lock box making checking in a breeze and a nice bottle of red wine, chips and salsa were there to welcome us!

We took our dog and found the surrounding neighborhoods very pleasant to walk. We were also in close proximity to the plaza and a gourmet grocery store was only a few blocks away.

That said, our casita did back up to a very busy street, Old Santa Fe Trail, and traffic was quite noisy at certain times of the day. However, it was quiet inside with doors and windows closed.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review! We're glad to hear that your arrival was easy and pleasant and that you took advantage of the home's wonderful location. Thank you for the note about the traffic noise. As you said, it's not a problem inside the home, but some more noise sensitive guests might want to look at a more secluded location. We hope to see you in Santa Fe again some time soon.

Comfortable, pet friendly and well-located

  • 5 of 5

The Old Santa Fe Trail casita is lovely. More spacious than we expected and nicely-equipped (we especially appreciated the robes). While one side faces a relatively busy street, it is quiet and there are lots of other streets in the neighborhood that are great for walking the dogs. Two Casitas was great and even left a very nice welcome gift. The casita works well for dogs and we appreciated the suggestions for dog-friendly outings. We walked to dinner on the Plaza or in the Railyard every night (approximately a 15 minute walk). Thank you for a lovely stay - we would definitely stay at a Two Casitas property again.

Almost perfect in every way

  • 5 of 5

Of all the houses we have rented in Santa Fe, this one was our very favorite. It is so beautifully appointed and so comfortable, we were not in any rush to go out for sightseeing. The house was very accurately described in the listing. It is relatively close to town if you are comfortable walking a half mile. My husband is disabled, so that wasn't an option for us. Although climbing stairs is difficult for him, he did manage the few steps leading to the front door and a step down into the living room. Parking was very convenient - right in front of the entrance to the house. The bed was very comfortable and the bedroom was spacious with lots of closet space. The kitchen had everything I needed including little things like sugar and salt which was nice not to have to buy. A bottle of wine, some snacks, coffee and cream were also waiting for us when we arrived. Management was very responsive and helpful. Although the house is on a busy street, the traffic noise was never a problem. We went to the opera many nights -the drive took about 20 minutes because there is considerable traffic getting through Santa Fe. Coming home at night though was a breeze. I would definitely want to come back!
