Our family has resided in the Harrison area for 50+ years. We love spending time in the surrounding mountains and on Lake CDA. We have been offering several homes in the area as vacation rentals for 10+ years, and we strive to ensure you have the best possible experience while staying in our homes.
Patty Reinhardt purchased this house in 2010
I ratify the other reviews. We were three couples who stayed a week and spent most of our active time riding our bikes on the fantastic Trail of the Coeur d'Alene. We also rented a boat from Mike and Patty for the day to tour the lake, which was good fun.
Mike and Patty are excellent local hosts who both grew up in the Harrison area. The house is very nice with a large 4 stall garage for all your toys and a good driveway. One of the two downstairs bedrooms is a bit small, but the three beds were all good. Everyone slept well and played hard. Both the upper and lower decks are great with nice views. If you are there in the hot months, bring an extra umbrella to supplement the one that is there for late afternoon when the sun is hard to shield (tie to railing) or simply move to the lower deck.
It is a steep gravel road down to the lake, communal dock, and paved bike trail. Most will probably choose to drive down and park unless you are on a mountain bike.
Many mornings we rode the bike trail to Plummer, a wonderful 28 mile round trip route along the lake and up through a delightful forested valley. A perfect and gorgeous workout to start the day. Go the other way up the river and you have another 30 lovely miles (one way) until the trail starts to parallel I-90. Wildlife abounds in both directions. Take a day and ride the super Hiawatha Trail at the divide.
Harrison is just a few miles away and is fun and quaint. It gets busy on weekends, but can be sleepy during the week.
This is a very nice home, complete with every thing you would need. Mike and Patty went over and above to make sure our stay was the best. They even got us a bike for my 11 year old son to ride! Animals abound here and it is so awesome to be out on the deck and see the deer with fawns, wild turkeys fly from the trees, turtles, moose and much more! Harrison is a sweet, sleepy town with very friendly people. There is the most amazing bike trail here. We plan to go back next year!
this is a great cabin Mike &Patty are great host cabin very clean and great location you can also rent a boat 24/7 what more could you want
Our family of 4, including 2 young adults, enjoyed our stay. What a beautiful, quiet place. It looks just like the photos in the listing, and everything is as it is described. The kitchen is well-equipped, and the furnishings are very nice. The owners are very helpful. I enjoyed walking to the lake several times, but most people would probably drive. We went to Coeur d'Alene several times (once by boat). It was a little far; next time I would spend more time in the friendly and attractive community of Harrison. The lake was beautiful, and we caught 25 delicious fish.
We absolutely loved our stay at the Crows Nest from 6-1-2012 thru 6-6-2012. The weather was a bit cool and rainy but that didn't stop us from finding great things to do from fishing to bike riding. The home is so comfortable and that made it hard to leave. We would highly recommend this as a great place to get away.... just leave time for us once again. Rob and Linda
We stayed for a week in July and the house was beautiful, clean and very comfortable. We had plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 kids. It is very close to the lake and has a gorgeous view off the back deck. The Owners were always available if we had a question and our family had a wonderful time. It is a little bit of a drive to Coeur d'Alene, but if you are looking for a quiet spot on the lake away from the hustle and bustle this is the place for you.
