About Wendy Kapp

A note from Wendy Kapp- Owner of Two Casitas Santa Fe Vacation Rentals

Having been raised in Chicago, my soul longed for the massive blue skies and mountains I first saw when my mother, well-known watercolor artist Phyllis Kapp of Waxlander Gallery, introduced me to this magnificent area when I was 6 years old.

While returning west in 1975, I came through Santa Fe and fell in love with Northern New Mexico once again. I found the people here, especially back in '75, to be the most authentic people I had ever met and I decided to make Santa Fe my home. My extensive knowledge from living here for since 1975 makes me the perfect, local hostess to give you tips on making your stay memorable. I hope you come to love Santa Fe and, in-turn Two Casitas, as much as I do.

Wendy Kapp purchased this house in 1999

Why Wendy Kapp chose Northeast

Location, location, location is why I chose these homes for our visitors. We want our guests to have the convenience of walking everywhere

What makes this house unique

When you stay with Two Casitas you stay like a local, not like a tourist, and experience Santa Fe like you live here. Who knows, maybe you will someday!

Amazing house in a perfect location

  • 5 of 5

The house is beautiful! Lovely decor and very comfortable. The view from the porch (and most rooms) is amazing! About a 20-minute walk into town. 3 bedrooms, all with king beds. Well-stocked kitchen. Highly recommended!

The Great and the no so Great.

  • 4 of 5

Please note.

We're only two people and used the upstairs master bedroom only, so I won't comment on the other two bedrooms and bathrooms.

The Great

1. Very nice comfortable and spacious house. Well furnished and decorated.

2. Master bedroom had a good firm king mattress, large shower and bathroom and a large closet with plenty of hangers and hooks.

3. Well equipped kitchen with upgraded appliances.

4. Very convenient and quiet location, but plan on driving to the downtown plaza shopping area.

The Not So Great

1. There are lots of wall switches to figure out. I thought that one of the bedroom nightstand lamps was broken, until I figured out that it was also controlled by a wall switch.

2. Very poor lighting in the living room and main dining area. Burned out ceiling bulbs in the dining area and kitchen didn't help. Forget about using the living room for anything other than watching TV in the evening or bring a flashlight to read with.

3. The listing photos show two working fireplaces in the house. Great for the cool nights. Unfortunately, neither one was operable. They had notes attached, saying that they were waiting for repairs.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the detailed review. We are happy to hear that your group enjoyed this wonderful home with its many well thought out amenities including good mattresses and tasteful good decor. We apologize that the fireplaces didn't work for your visit as they will be up and running soon for the winter season. As for light in the living room we will get additional lamps to provide more lighting. Thanks Again!

Absolutely wonderful! They thought of everything!

  • 5 of 5

Two casitas was the perfect place for is. It is located less than a mile from the plaza and in a nice, quiet area. The house itself is adorable, with a very nice southwest feel. It was so nice to be greeted with chips and salsa, plus a nice bottle of wine! We all loved this place and would definitely stay again.

Wonderful place to relax in Santa Fe!

  • 4 of 5

What a great place for two couples or a family. Comfy, everything you could wish for in the kitchen. Off street parking is helpful - grocery stores are very close. There are patios and balconies and porches to be enjoyed.

We will be back! As a side note, when we mentioned a few things we'd like, the response was immediate -- within minutes. So, if it's not perfect for you, it soon will be!

Convenient and charming

  • 4 of 5

Good location in walking distance to plaza, railway district, etc. Charming decor, very southwestern! Four middle age friends having a girls getaway found it very suitable. Unfortunately, we couldn't use the outdoor patio area because it was very dirty. Windows were also filthy. Recommend Restaurant Tour through Santa Fe Cooking School.

Nice condo

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay here. The place is within easy walking distance of the plaza. Overall it was very clean and comfortable for us and our two young daughters. We were disappointed that there was no steam shower.
