Come experience what an East Beach Cottage is all about! This recently remodeled (all bathrooms) & repainted 4 bedroom, 4 bath home is located in the desirable East Beach neighborhood. East Beach is convenient to numerous Island shops and restaurants, as well as the Historic Coast Guard Station. It is a great neighborhood that has easy access to the beach. The beach is an easy walk - only .3 miles.
1813 Bruce Drive is nestled amongst wonderful live oaks on an oversized corner lot complete with white picket fence. Gorgeous hardwood floors throughout are complimented by beadboard ceilings and a tabby fireplace.
It maintains that classic quaint cottage feel however has an updated kitchen to include granite counters and state-of-the-art appliances, expansive laundry room, large screened-in porch right off the kitchen, large front porch with Adirondack chairs and swing, and all bathrooms feature updated fixtures and flooring.
The fourth bedroom and bath is located in the private guest house which is above the garage turned game room, which has a Ping Pong Table & Foosball table. The guest house features a large den with a sleeper sofa and day bed. It also has its own small refrigerator and coffee maker. This space is perfect for the in-laws or another family wanting their own space.

We bought this house in December 2009 because we fell in love with the cottage look & feel. (We've been told by multiple people it was featured in Cottage Living or Southern Living but we have yet to see the article!) Our house has a wonderful front porch that we tend to gravitate to every morning. The location on East Beach sealed the deal because we knew it was a family oriented neighborhood with its own beach, which is the best on St. Simons Island. The feel of this house is reminiscent of how going to the beach used to be - laid back and easygoing. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

This property is great because it mixes the old with the new. The old being the main house, which is full of cottage charm. And the new being the guesthouse, which has a large den (20' x 25') and a large bedroom & full bathroom. A lot of guests like to use this space as the 2nd master. The downstairs part of the guesthouse is a converted garage that now houses a ping pong table and foosball table, and has plenty of space for your bikes, beach chairs, strollers, wagons, etc. Storage space is definitely not a problem here.

The SSI cottage is darling and perfect in every way. Clean and neat, bedding is very comfortable, kitchen has all you need to prepare meals...we had a wonderful time and will likely return soon...👍

RHONDA, WE ALL HAD A GREAT TIME AT THE HOME. IT WAS A GREAT HOME FOR FAMILY EVENTS, THE BEACH WAS A SHORT DISTANCE, EVERYTHING WAS CLOSE, AND AS FAR AS WHAT WE WERE DOING, IT WAS HALF WAY BETWEEN OUR 2 SCHEDULED EVENTS. IT WAS VERY COZY, AND FIT OUR NEEDS PERFECTLY. WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO ANY OF OUR FRIENDS IN THE FUTURE. THANK YOU SO MUCH. FROM EVERYONE

Great House - Great Location
I can sum it up in one word .... perfect!
This is a charming, well maintained home with all the ammenties you could ask for.
We were thrilled with the home and guest house. The living space was good with a number of sleeping options to include the guest house. It accommodated our 3 families of 6 adults and 5 children. Loved the "gathering" spaces of the front porch, the screened in porch and large garage converted to a play area with ping pong and shuffle board Also great for indoor bike storage, beach carts and strollers.
Some of the major nearby attractions are: East Beach (walk out the front door & walk @ 300 yards to the 6th St beach access), the pier & village, shopping at Redfern Village, golfing, boating, riding your bike along the bike paths, Fort Frederica, and tons more. Other than the beach, one of our favorite spots is the pier & village area, which is located about 2 miles away. They have great restaurants, shops, miniature golf, playgrounds, library, live theater, and a new pool with slides and all sorts of great features. They also have lots of rocking chairs and benches to enjoy the beautiful view from. Please ask about this in your inquiry...I'd love to send you more information about this. It is VERY nice for children of all ages! There are sidewalks all the way from our home to the pier...it makes for a great day with the family!
