A place for your family to remember for generations. Cape Cod style cottage looks directly down Lake Huron on the Straits of Mackinac. Sand Beach. Four bedrooms, one bath. Home is in pristine condition,
Located on a 100 ft. sandy beach with incredible views of the Straits. Watch the freighters go by while swimming in crystal clear water. A Boater's paradise. Back yard is heavily treed, growing wildflowers and miniture purple iris.
Find unbelievable fossils along the shoreline, or catch the deer, turkey or fox as they walk by! The home is 1170 sq ft, completely furnished, washer/dryer, with a 24 x 10 screened in porch. Electric baseboard heat, anderson thermopane windows. Take a ferry from Cheboygan, Michigan or fly in. During the winter months enjoy flying in and riding your snowmobile. This is the family cottage you have always wanted to visit!
We spent our honeymoon here and couldn't have chosen a better place to unwind. We love the island so very much. Took it all in daily. Coffee every morning on the beach, looking for sea glass (which we didn find) and so many fossils. Went to the Bible beach, explored many roads just to see where we would end up. Played shuffle board at the BobLo Tavern. Linda couldn't have been more accommodating and we are looking forward to coming back again.
This was a very relaxing stay and such a nice place to spend a few days away. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
Cottage was well kept, spacious, and has nice views of the lake.
If you are looking for a place to unplug and enjoy nature, this is the place. The house was very quaint with a short walk to the beach. We had everything we needed to cook our own meals as the house was very well stocked. We did have a little trouble finding the driveway. It wasn't marked and the markers that we were given are no longer there to go by but that was our only issue. Beds and bedding were comfortable and we slept well. Thank you for having us 3 crazy moms and our brood of kids. It was a truly wonderful trip and one we will always remember. All of us want to come back next year!
Love love love this place. We are coming back for sure, in fact we want to live there, forever...
This was one of the better vacation getaways we have had in a few years. The house was clean, beds were comfortable, and there was plenty enough available in the home to cook, clean laundry, and relax.
The beach was wonderful, and the sunrises were beautiful, along with the freighters passing through. We had a long four day weekend stay with beautiful weather. There is plenty to do, enjoying the refreshing "COLD" water on Lake Huron, hiking, fishing, and canoeing.
I would highly recommend staying here and we will be coming again. Linda has a very accommodating home, perfect place to stay on vacation.
The Marsh's
First off, the view from the house, of the beach, was absolutely beautiful. You saw the sun rise in the morning from the living room and a great view of the stars at night. The screened porch was great for just lounging back with some cocktails, enjoying the sound of the waves and breezes off the lake. The beach is literally about 150ft away from the house. Water was clear. It’s about a quarter mile arc of sandy/pebbly beach with just 3 cottages. The cottage is at the end of the 3, so there is plenty of beach for kids to play on. Lots of sea animal fossils are on the shore line if you look for them. There are board games at the house plus some old movies for the kids (Aladdin/Matilda). We were told by the locals in Cheboygan that this island was “rugged and wild”. They weren’t kidding. We saw wild turkeys, a couple of does with fawns, and swans in the morning, right in front of the big window of the house. The main roads are packed dirt covered with gravel with trails leading into the dense forest in the center of the island. I have a Land Rover and I was putting it through its paces getting through the trails. There are no lights on the main roads. This is not a small island. I drove for 9 miles on the main road circling the island before I had to turn around and go back (kids were getting hungry). I had covered about a quarter of the island. No issue with cell phone reception (LTE). There is a land line phone in the cottage for emergencies. Bring cash with you to dispose of the garbage on the island ($2) per bag (about 28 gallon bags). Issue we had was with biting flies at the beach, but only for 2 days there, and the provided fly swatters made sure they didn’t come back. Overall it was a great family experience.
Boating, swimming, fishing, reading, walking and just plain relaxation!
