About Debbie Hansen-Bernard

I spent all the time I could on my Grandparents ranch when I was growing up, many of my fondest childhood memories were made there.

Having a beautiful property with a natural setting, spectacular views and lots of elbow room for my family and animals has been a goal for many a year. This property was a plus being located close enough to town but still rual enough for us to be in the country. Most of the cabins were built in the late 1930s early 1940s and when we purchased the property much of what we have done to refurbish and restore things has been with those earlier childhood memories in mind. The ranch is a place of relaxed comfort for our guest and hopefully they will be taken back to their memories of those good ole days or at most get a feeling of what it was like.

Please call if your emails do not get answered in a timely manner as I often travel with my horses where there is no internet service.

Friends and family snowboarding trip

  • 5 of 5

Had a blast staying here. So warm and welcoming. When we realized that the studio was not included the owner totally offered us a pop up tent trail right out side the rental for free so all guest could be comfortable. super accommodating and all around good people. The cottage was so cozy and comfortable i just wanted to stay inside all day and admire the beautiful horse pastures. it was like home away from home. Could say so many more wonderful things but don't want to boar anyone, lets just say i highly recommend staying here. Can't wait to come back and stay again.

Fun Family Trip

  • 5 of 5

My family (including 4 kids) and my parents rented the Cottage and the Garden studio for several days. We had a blast. The owner is friendly and always accommodating. The sitting on horses, feeding chickens and trampoline were big hits with the little kids. The location of the ranch is just south of town, but still very accessible to Ashland and Medford (and the winery next door!).

The owner was great about cleaning the grill for us and responded quickly when we had an issue or a question.

All and all, a great trip, and beautiful ranch.

Janine & Bear

These are like the nicest people ever!! Jeffrey gave me the grand tour as Debbie was gone when I arrived (late!) and could not have been more hospitable. My horse had a HUGE stall w/ lots of clean shavings , and a variety of sizes of grassy runs to choose from where he could relax & play. All overlooking a beautiful pastoral creek with numerous happy horses grazing on verdant green hillsides. Parked my lq trailer next to a beautiful pond back in the woods for the night overlooking it about heaven! When Debbie arrived she could not have been more helpful and friendly, even sharing almost the last of her alfalfa with my horse who was very tired of the grass hay that I had left. Thus is a GEM of a place to stay, whether or not you have horses as they have a cottage and apt. for us of the two-legged variety as well.

Family In the Siskiyous !

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I stayed at the cottage for 2 weeks while looking for a permanent place in Ashland. The cottage was very cozy and the girlfriend just loved the nice big soaking tub . The property is amazing and the family is ,well like family :) ...after finding a place in town my girlfriend and I still go to the ranch to tend a sweet garden plot at the top of the hill. Debbie listened to our woes about finding housing with space to grow a garden, and now we have both . My girlfriend and I really enjoy being around the horses and helping to feed them and the chickens . Plus the eggs are amazing! We enjoyed the Trails with beautiful mountain views ,a nice pond to relax and bird watch with the siskiyou mountains in the background..I Cant say enough positive things about the Family or the Ranch , We are truly blessed !

Perfect family get-away at Little Creek Ranch

  • 5 of 5

This was a great place to join our children and grandchildren. The cottage was perfect for 4 adults, 2 children and our dog. Waking up to the view overlooking the horse pasture was beautiful. The accommodations were very relaxing and quiet, yet convenient and close to town and activities. The kids enjoyed the tree swing and their horse riding lessons. Debbie and her family were very generous and hospitable. We hope to return for a visit, especially during our PCT ride. Debbie is the perfect trail angel.

Loved our stay at Little Creek Ranch

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Ranch for 4 nights in July. We loved staying in the cottage and it worked great for 3 adults and 1 child. Debbie was a warm and wonderful host, she left us a basket of treats and some of the most delicious eggs from her chickens. The cottage was very comfortable and clean, the beds were very cosy, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals and it had Wi-Fi so we could use our laptop for researching things to do in the area. One of our favourite things to do was to have a glass of wine in the evenings, sit on the swing and watch the horses in the field. Our 8 year old son had such a great time he loved going to feed the chickens with Debbie and getting hay for Haywire, and thanks to Debbie he got to ride a horse for the first time which he loved so much. My brother in-law is an avid birdwatcher and he got to bird watch and see many species of birds. We went on some great walks around the ranch and saw some gorgeous sunsets from the hill. We had an amazing stay and are really looking forward to our stay next summer.
