Wonderful Family Retreat - Two Rivers, WI

  • 5 of 5

We had the pleasure of staying here at this beautiful home during a long weekend trip. We had such a relaxing and peaceful stay at both the Hummingbird and Chickadee retreats. The Hummingbird fits 2 small families comfortably with 1 master bdrm and 2 smaller bdrms. The kitchen is well stocked with plentiful pots/pans and utensils. The full bath (included w/ washer and dryer) is very spacious and clean. The entire home is very well maintained and beautifully decorated. We appreciated all of the unique paintings, figurines and trinkets tastefully spread throughout the house and property. The Chickadee provided additional living/sleeping quarters and was just as beautifully decorated. Comfortably fits another small family or 2 adult couples. The main floor of the Chickadee features a sleeping/living area w/ tv and small kitchen & eating nook. The upstairs floor has 1 bedroom w/ a small balcony overlooking the entire property. All linens and towels were provided for both homes as well. Another nice feature of the property was the screened outdoor room which made for an ideal dinner/meal space allowing us to enjoy being eating outside without having to worry about mosquitoes. Having both homes available to our large group was most accommodating and made for a very enjoyable trip. Didn't feel cramped at all.

This home really is a hidden gem within Two Rivers! We loved that it was just down the road from Point Beach State Forest (beautiful for taking picturesque beach photos) and just a short drive to Neshota Park (very well groomed beach). Before hitting up Neshota, we stopped by a small kite shop in town for some kiddy and adult kites. It made for a really fun time at the beach. The men really enjoyed Two Rivers for all the great fishing that the town offers. Plenty of great fishing for lake trout, salmon and walleye. Great fishing charters as well. We also ordered from the pizza pub down the road. Decently sized and tasty pizzas. We enjoyed left overs at the beach the following day.

Kevin was a joy to work with in getting our reservations set up to ensuring that everything was in place upon our arrival. We didn't get to meet Karen at the house due to being delayed on the road but both were readily available by telephone if needed. We left little bits of our hearts at the Hummingbird/Chickadee retreats. Thank you Kevin & Karen for opening your home to us for the wkend. We had a truly wonderful time.

Lovely, clean homes to rent for our family!

  • 5 of 5

We rented both the Chickadee and Hummingbird for my parents, my sisters, and our families. It was a lovely place to stay! Kevin was so accommodating throughout as our plans evolved. Everything was so clean and well stocked, including above and beyond kitchen supplies. Beaches are within easy driving distance with kids. We had fun having a bonfire making s'mores, playing lawn games, biking, and going to the beach. Great place for a summer family getaway!

Beautiful property, Great Location!

  • 4 of 5

The pictures do not do it justice on this amazing place! We staying in the Hummingbird Cabin and it was perfect for a family of 4! We loved all the amenities and the layout of the cabin. The location was perfect, only 10 minutes to the beach which we enjoyed every night. We also loved the outdoor shower to rinse off all the sand from the beach. The only negative about our vacation was the amount of mosquitos, maybe it was the time of year.. but overall, a great place that I would highly recommend!

A great spot for a long weekend gateway

  • 5 of 5

This place is fantastic. It's a real family home with everything you need to just turn up and relax. The place is spacious, easily hosting the 7 people it advertises. The garden and outside area is lovely, bbq, picnic table, soft seats and even had a toy box that our kids loved. The house itself is really well equipped.. nothing worse than turning up to a rental and there's only one beat up cooking pot. No such problems here.. great kitchen, big living space, good wifi and all that good stuff. The local area is really nice too. The beach and forrest right across the road are perfect for walks. The owner (Kevin) is super friendly.. I got the impression if we needed anything he would have been delighted to help out. All in all a great place.

Perfect place for families

  • 5 of 5

We kept repeating over the weekend how this property has everything you could possibly want in a weekend visit with our families! We rented both the Hummingbird and the Chickadee - having both bathrooms and more than enough bedrooms for our 3 families was a great choice for us. We enjoyed the bonfire pit (compete with firewood so we didn't have to go searching for any), the screen porch - the kids spent many hours playing the throwback games, swinging in the hammock, and we even did both our dinners out there, lawn games in the huge yard, and even TVs in several rooms for those times when you just want to throw on a cartoon to occupy the kids or news while you drink your coffee. Kevin has an eye for design as it was very well decorated. We stayed here for the Kite Festival and hope to come back next year - great proximity to the lake (we didn't bike due to the ages of our small kids, but the trail is right there). All together it was an awesome rental and we hope to do it again next year!
