This charming rustic post and beam barn home is on 5 acres and is fully equipped with comfortable furniture and filled with antiques, memorabilia and artwork fitting a Vermont ski and 4 season vacation home. Most rooms overlook a beautiful bubbling stream and small pond. Large lawns invite child-friendly play and games. Attached deck features gas grill and outdoor furniture. Large barn and garage (built summer of 2010) provides protected parking for your vehicle and driveway provides outdoor parking for numerous friends and guests. Across the stream is access to Green Mountain Forest land for pristine hiking and snowshoeing right out the back door. Our bridge was washed out during Irean last summer. However, the stream can usually be crossed during summer months without it.
Kitchen was updated last year with new granite countertops, sink, range, refrig, dishwasher, etc and affords an efficient and pleasant work area.
Sleeping accommodations consist of 3 bedrooms and a loft. The Master B/R has it's own private full bath, flat screen TV and queen bed (Tempur Pedic mattress). The 2 guest rooms share a full bath. One guest room has a queen bed and flat screen TV, while the other features bunk beds and a collection of antique wooden toys. The large loft has it's own private bath, bunk beds and a convertible couch (double bed), skylights and a TV.
Manchester is a 20 minutes drive, affording abundant outlet shopping as well as legendary Manchester dining and sightseeing. In winter Stratton Mountain Skiing is 10 minutes drive with similar convenience to Bromley and Magic Mountain. During warm months, Stratton Golf School, Golf Course and Tennis are just 5 minutes drive.
Gourmet grocery store and a 24-hour 7/11 convenience store and gas station are located just a 2 miles down the road, assuring that you'll never get stranded for essentials.
This classic ski and vacation home was built in 1992 and we are the original owners. We work very hard at ongoing maintainance and it remains in excellent condition with updated appliances and infrastructure (Just in past 2 years, have built garage, installed brand new heating system, water filtration system, kitchen stove and refrig). It has been carefully updated with conveniences like flat-screen TVs, wireless high speed internet, unlimited phone service, satellite radio, skylights, etc. It is equipped for fun family relaxation and play and is an ideal home for your own family vacation memories.

Our family has owned this Barn home since it was built in 1992. Our children grew up skiing at Stratton and Bromley and the house holds wonderful memories for us all. Now that our children are adults with their own children, although they live far away, they always make time to come back to our happy Vermont home. We had rented homes in the Stratton area for 4 years and realized that we wanted to be here long term.
Whether spring, Summer, Fall or Winter, this house is close to everything fun in Southern Vermont. Our children and grand children love playing on the property, in the stream, pond, the hot tub and hiking and snow shoeing in the adjoining forest. The house has all the modern amenities we have wanted for convenience and play.
We, a family of 5 stayed here for a weekend of skiing. The house is great. Close to Stratton, has tons of space to hang out together or get some alone time.
The owners are very friendly and helpful,we didn't have any issues

The Barn is a perfect ski house with all the necessary amenities including a fireplace, tons of comfy couches, tons of beds, big kitchen table, etc. The location was ideal, only a 4 minute drive from Stratton. Furthermore, Steve was an excellent host; very timely responses, instructions were clear and complete, and very easy to work with. All around 5 stars.
Our family rented this wonderful house for the week of Thanksgiving & I'm already planning on going back next year. The Hosts were excellent to work with & we couldn't have asked for anything else! Plenty of firewood, all the amenities we needed, tons of games & activities to keep busy. Great find & a Definite recommend!
Our family (of 5) rented The Barn for the entire 2013-2014 ski season and we left in April with countless incredibly special memories. The property's advantages are endless... Prime location, loft for kids, frog-filled pond, sledding hill, garage for those snowy days/nights, view of the stream from an enormous window, cozy fireplace, and the moosehead that hangs above it! The owners were a pleasure to work with (Steve is one-of-a-kind!), and the caretaker kept the grounds extremely well-maintained. If you are looking for the perfect getaway for skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, shopping, or just relaxing with friends and/or family, this is the place for you. We already miss it!!
Can not even imagine that this property is for rent. Beautiful HOME ( not a" rental prop") Beyond comfortable. Low maintenance for renter..Just a great Place. Everything promised is more than delivered.Owner interested in your comfort and happiness. Would ,and will, return. Only complaint, sometimes the stream is too loud...Not.If you are already headed to Vt. this is the place.Whether you are interested in being busy, or just want to BE here, it doesn't get any better than The Barn.
The home was so clean, cozy and family friendly. There was an ideal mix of recreational sports and shopping close by. The house layout was exactly as described in the ad, and the owner was very accommodating about answering my questions and providing written guidelines prior to our arrival, so there were no surprises. We truly had a wonderful stay!
The house is a 10 minute drive from the Stratton lifts & 15 minutes from Bromley. Grocery Store, liquor store, Gas station and 7/11 exactly 2 miles down the road from the house. Manchester is 20 minutes drive to excellent shopping, restaurants and essentials.

HIGH SEASON (November 16 - March 31) are $300/night - mid week (Sunday night - Thursday night) and $450/night - weekends and holidays (Friday and Saturday, holidays - Christmas week, MLK weekend, February break).
