About the property

2 MASTER SUITS 4 Bedrooms total (See Description), 2.5 Baths, Sleeps 8

New owners as of June 30, 2015. This cozy home was originally owned by a famous local bandleader during the 40's and it's fun to imagine how the musicians might have gathered in the Great Room that he built for jam sessions and parties. The acoustics do seem to enhance the music we play. With two Master suites there's plenty of privacy, and the third bedroom allows for another couple on the third floor. Two full baths; one with a jetted tub and a Powder Room on the Main floor are newly remodeled. There's a living room with Granite Fireplace on one side of the kitchen and the Great Room is on the other. Both fireplaces have been recently finished with new Marble & Granite. The ground floor offers a private, spacious bedroom and full bath, which was beautifully remodeled recently.

We've enjoyed many family gatherings in the oak furnished dining room that can easily accommodate eight for dinner. The front yard is partially enclosed allowing privacy and ambiance in the covered Lanai which features 'musical note' tiles on the floor, which is another feature left by the bandleader.

About Brian & Angela Simpson

As much as we love living in Sandpoint Idaho we also enjoy going to Spokane for Family & Cultural events.

Brian & Angela Simpson purchased this house in 1999

Why Brian & Angela Simpson chose Spokane

This home was purchased so that we could spend time in the City of Spokane without having to drive home after a day or an evening on the town. Having just finished the remodeling project, we felt it was ready to share with others who might enjoy the history & ambiance as much as we have.

What makes this house unique

How nice it is to walk to the grocery store or Starbucks in the morning before breakfast for some freshly baked bread OR to walk to our favorite local restaurant called Vintages 611 down Grand Blvd. on the way to town. Driving to the theatre, restaurants, or sporting events is never a chore with available parking easy to find.

Very Stressful

  • 1 of 5

Renter beware, even though we paid in full well in advance we could not get code to the house from the owner. After trying for 8 hours while driving up to Spokane and sitting in 90 degree weather for an hour VBRO was able to get the code for us and the owner was very rude about it! The house is very nice, but I have seen nicer furniture on the curbside for free than the furniture in the house, very worn out and nasty looking. The Christmas Tree theme looks like it was half done, the top of the Christmas tree has some decorations but the bottom has nothing. Very strange.... The location was pretty good for us though.

Well maintained house with great common spaces

  • 5 of 5

Stayed for a weekend with our 3 kids and my brother; this house was a perfect fit. Charming and well maintained with a great dining room for family meals and a large family room with beautiful windows and lots of space - perfect for playing games or hanging out as a group. We also enjoyed the Fully fenced backyard and patio area - spent the first evening sitting out there around a table and enjoying the quiet neighborhood and afternoon sun.

The house was stocked with the necessities - though if you have an elaborate meal planned you may want to consider bringing any cookware that goes beyond vey basic. We brought a blender to make smoothies and were glad we did. But plenty towels, linens and paper goods - and a high chair in the family room closet was a great and helpful find!

House is a short walk from a Starbucks and a few small shops/restraints and a short drive from Manito park, which is lovely for a picnic, run or walk.

Owners were responsive and flexible. Highly recommend!

A perfect home for a busy Graduation weekend. Family gathered, BBQed, shared and made memories. Everything needed is available with stores nearby. Feel blessed to have found the Christmas 🎄 House in May 😍

Wonderful Home & Experience

  • 5 of 5

We rented the home so that extended family could stay together while in Spokane for our son's graduation from Gonzaga. The home is more spacious than it appears in the photos and was very comfortable and easily accessible for all. The Christmas décor is a unique touch. My husband said it made him want to shop, I am still waiting!

Great place to stay for a family visit.

  • 5 of 5

My three siblings and I stayed here for four days and found the house to be very comfortable and accommodating. We are all in our 70s and we appreciate quiet times mixed with visits and games. This house filled all our needs. We used the BBQ one night to entertain cousins and we were grateful for the WiFi. I highly recommend this property for a gathering place. The management is responsive and friendly and we will come back again if the opportunity arises.

Great place to gather with a group of friends

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed relaxing here for 2 nights with a group of friends from MT and Seattle. South Hill location is great for all we wanted to do. We had lots of room to spread out with 4 bedrooms, a great gathering space in the dining room, a cozy family room and workable kitchen. One night out for dinner and one night in which we cooked with groceries from nearby Trader Joes. A wonderfully equipped, relaxing weekend get away.

This is a great option for long term Sacred Heart Hospital visitors. There are so many options for so many types of travelers coming into the Spokane area. Here is my TOP 10 favorite 'Must-Dos': (1) Golfing at Qualchan or Indian Canyon, (2) Wine tasting at Barrister Winery or Arbor Crest, (3) People watching at Gonzaga University (10 mins. away) or even Washington State University (60 mins. South), (4) Bloomsday race the first Sunday in May, (5) Hoopfest the last weekend in June, (6) the Christmas tree and Santa display at River Park Square, (7) Skiing with my kids at Mount Spokane or 49 Degrees North, (8) wine tasting and dinner at Luna on the South Hill, only 3 mins. from the House, (9) walking the bridges downtown when the Spokane Falls are huge, and (10) Walking around Manito Park and the Japanese Gardens or Hiking in Riverfront State Park and seeing the Bowl and Pitcher
