About the property

Chateau / Country House, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1.5 Baths, (Sleeps 4-8)

Please consider spending some quality time at the Cape's most relaxing and peaceful luxury rental home. Summer-season Weekly rentals are only $2500 [Saturday to Saturday only]. We ONLY rent by the week in the summer season. [Sorry]. Long weekend rentals in the non-summer [off] season (October through May) are only $750/weekend. Only four [4] guests maximum unless by negotiation. No Parties or Weddings allowed.

Our 'Barn' is a romantic, 2nd-floor (~2000 sq ft) one or two bedroom, open, loft-style property. It is self-catered, (you bring only things you would consume). We call it a 'Barn' - but as you'll see from the pictures - it is a warm, well-designed and comfortable luxury home.

This is a one-of-a-kind, newly-constructed, post and beam 'Barn.' Secluded and private wooded-setting overlooking the Herring Run (the Barn is on ~3 acres - the Herring Run is a beautiful salt marsh with large brook/river running out to Paine's Creek Beach - voted by Local Cape Codders as the best beach on Cape Cod for watching sunsets - see picture #6 below - the Barn does not have this view - only Paine's Creek Beach 0.75 miles from Barn has this view).

Our home was featured (six pages) in the April 2003 Cape Cod Magazine, (I can send you the article - but be aware - it is a large file 4+ MBs).

We are certain you'll enjoy the peace, quiet and nature of this most-unique luxury home. Ideal for artistic pursuits - or - a romantic getaway for yourself and your partner.

The 'Barn' has a large deck (15' X 30') with comfortable chairs for your afternoon read and glass of wine.

The Barn has a regulation 60' bocce court! How many rental homes have their own bocce court? Drink your limoncello, make a homemade pizza and show your partner how to enjoy the late afternoon...

You can book now for long weekends in the off-season at $750 per weekend (1, 2, 3 or 4 nights - Holidays are the only exceptions). Summer Season rentals are week-long [only - from Sat to Sat] at $2500/week. Contact me for further details The entire summer season 2017 can be rented for $30,000/season ($5k deposit needed).

The home is outfitted with all usual amenities (fully outfitted kitchen, BBQ, TV/VCR, nice stereo, high-speed internet, Washer/Dryer et al) - including an amazing 7'X 7' shower room. New 60' long bocce court!

Absolutely no smokers allowed - Children and pets by negotiation (we need a discussion of safety issues and non-replaceable antiques). Four adults max. Full payment (plus a $250 deposit against loss/ damage/ misuse/ cleaning - we will immediately return the $250 deposit when you leave our home in as nice of shape as when you arrived) will be required prior to you entering the home.

Our 'Barn'/home has been used as a retreat for artists, writers and celebrities from the US, Asia, and UK/EU.

I can send you many sample 'thank you' letters we have received from previous Barn guests...

One Sample: 'WOW is all I can say about the 'Barn'. It is spectacular. The photos don't do it justice. It was by far the most unique lodgings we have ever stayed at. You spared no expense and paid such attention to every detail. We found the Barn to be outfitted with everything we could possibly want or need. We had a great time just hanging around and admiring our surroundings. It was our pleasure to have stayed there. Thank you for sharing your Barn with us.'

Yes, we will consider spectacular [non-concurrent] trades from the EU [but not the US].

About The Owner

Raised in Massachusetts, but now living in Aptos CA, my wife and I are entrepreneurs. We've lived in India, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Taipei, London, Vancouver, Seattle, Lake Tahoe etc. We enjoy adventure but this home is about relaxing. My family [mom and step dad, dad and step-mom, brother, sister, and other family] live within a few miles of this house.

The Owner purchased this chateau / country house in 2003

Why The Owner chose Cape Cod

Cape Cod is beautiful any time of the year. So much to do - or alternatively - you can sit on the porch, commune with nature and read your next favorite book.

What makes this chateau / country house unique

Peace, quiet, craftsmanship, seashells in the driveway, bocce.

We can't say enough about our 3-night stay at The Barn. We never really had a honeymoon, and even though there were no tropical drinks with paper umbrellas, it was the most relaxing weekends we've had in a long time.

The setting is spectacular. Even though it was the middle of February, we had one of those freaky 60 degree days where we were able to sit outside and watch the birds in total peace and quiet. Tranquility at its best.

The house is incredibly comfortable wide open and bright, with wonderful different sitting areas. I'd go back just to use that shower again!

We took a day trip to Provincetown, only about 35 minutes away. In the summer, when more things are open, I bet the village feeling really comes out. We did walk on the beach, which obviously would be much more active in the summer.

The kitchen couldn't have been more well-equipped. The owners have thought of EVERYTHING!!!!!

I really can't wait to go back especially in the Fall when the trees will be incredible.

I couldn't possibly encourage you more--go and enjoy!
