Central air & heat, Hot & cold enclosed outside shower, Dishwasher, Washer & Dryer located on first floor, Microwave, 6 Color cable TVs, 2 DVDs, 2 VCRs, Stereo with CD player, Wireless high-speed internet access, Sony Play Station II.

Ceiling fans throughout, Furnished open & covered deck offering great ocean view from this high lot. Parking for 5 cars (3 covered), Covered entrance. Beach access directly across street, Saturday to Saturday. No smoking and no pets.

Recent renovations, as shown in the photos, include new flooring, new carpets, new kitchen, granite, appliances, etc.

About Jeff Alligood

Ann and Rhett Spencer own A Tarheel East, and I am their daughter, Dana. We are all pictured in the photo. My mother and her sister bought both sides of the duplex in 2000 and our families have enjoyed many years of memories at Emerald Isle with our friends and family. We hope you will find A Tarheel East as special as we do!

Why Jeff Alligood chose Emerald Isle

My parents bought in this location because Emerald Isle is a beautiful beach with all the amenities of a beach vacation, but not the commercialism of more developed beaches.

What makes this house unique

It is located near Morehead City, Beaufort, Atlantic Beach and Swansboro. Beaufort is a wonderful old historic waterfront town with museums, boat rides, kayaking and ferry access. Emerald Isle has a public fishing pier (less than 1 mile away), shopping, movies, restaurants, a community center and exercise facility, miniature golf, boating, bike rentals and swimming - all within a 5 minute drive! It has everything you need!

A wonderful beach vacation!! The house was fantastic, open floor plans and kitchen - great for families and friends. We enjoyed a week of Emerald Isle with two other couples and their kids (6 adults and 7 kids in total). Plenty of space in the 3 story house, great sleeping arrangements giving the kids (and parents :) ) their space.

While not oceanfront, the house is located on a closed street with no public parking. Beach access was directly in front of the house, cross the street, walk out over the dunes on a walkway, and enjoy a gorgeous, very very wide beach!! We packed coolers of drinks, and for lunch most days we sent two moms back to make sandwiches - not a big deal as it's a very short walk.

Thank you for a fantastic house - your listing is very thorough and representative of our vacation.

House is on a cul-de-sac, with no public parking allowed = quiet street, no thru-traffic (great for kids, bikes, etc), Walk-out decks on all floors, and beach access is DIRECTLY across the street = 60 second walk to sand!! Estimated distance to the sand is less than 100 yards!!!!

Great for everyone!!

My family (parents/sisters/nieces/nephews) all spent a week here last summer. The house is large enough to get away from all those wonderful family members, and also has a family room large enough to accommodate everyone together!! The kitchen is well equipped for families and there is enough plates/glasses/silverware for everyone---no eating in shifts!! Lots of serving dishes and the kitchen is equipped to actually cook a meal in. Beds were good in all rooms, and we loved being able to see the beach even if we weren't ocean front. We are planning a return visit this summer.

Great Vacation

This was the first vacation my family had spent together in four years. My youngest son had just finished sitting for the Pennsylvania and New Jersey bars. Tar Heel East was the perfect place to decompress. The house was beautiful. Everyone in the family had their own bedroom and bathrooms. The views from the decks were beautiful, the walk to beach short, the ocean was truly Emerald and the street was quiet. I would recommend this house for a family looking to spend quality time together without interruption.

House is located approximately 1/4 mile from a brand new public boat access, parking and boat ramps, etc. This is access to Bogue Bay, so if you have your own boat, you can launch it just a few minutes from the house.
