About the property

Manufactured Home, 3 Bedrooms + Den, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Get away from it all and enjoy the crystal clear blue waters of this spring fed lake nestled among pine trees on a 1.5-acre lot.

Enjoy swimming, fishing, and riding the paddle boat and kayaking on this peaceful and pristine body of water. This lake is deep in the center (especially near the springs) and shallow around the edge. It is so clear you can use a mask and snorkel ( or the naked eye) to see fish, turtles and interesting aquatic vegetation. There are many bream that swim around the dock and some will actually look up at you expecting to be fed some bread. This is a nature lover's paradise! There is a variety of wild life to observe such as birds of prey, humming birds, otter, deer, and owls.

Relax and float on a raft, or partake in games such as badminton, volleyball, or ping-pong.

Roast marshmallows over a camp fire and star gaze upon the night sky. Camp outside, or sleep inside the 1680 sq. ft. home, with living room, kitchen, dining room, den, three bedrooms, and 2.5 bathrooms. Enjoy relaxing in front of an Amish electric fireplace all year round. Watch many high-definition television stations or surf the internet. Computer available for guest use. Wi Fi access anywhere in home or on screened porch.

This is a golf cart community and there are many miles of great scenic bike riding opportunities.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We so enjoyed our week at the lake house! The fishing was great, the smallest bass I caught was 14 inches long. We could sit on the dock and watch the larger ones swimming by, the children caught lots of smaller fish it was the first time they had ever fished and enjoyed it a lot, we practice catch and release so if we visit again the fish will be bigger. Thank you again for a great family time.

A very spacious place to relax and enjoy the lovely clear blue lake and unplug from the daily grind

My husband and I stayed with my best friend and her three teenage kids for a few nights. We had a lovely time together enjoying nature and all the wonderful things the lake has to offer: paddle boating, kayaking, and fishing to name a few. My husband caught his first largemouth bass and it was huge! Don't worry, it's still there alive and well swimming around in the lake. We had a nice fire in the fire pit roasting hot dogs and making s'mores. I enjoyed sitting on the back porch in the morning time listening to the birds. One lovely morning I did some yoga on the dock. It did rain the first two days we were there so we kept ourselves busy with the ping pong table and board games. If you're heading there during the rainy season, I recommend bringing a vehicle with good tires and possibly four-wheel-drive since you will have to drive quite a distance down a few dirt roads to get there. Wi-fi is available but cell phone reception is sketchy at best. We had four different cell phone companies represented between the six of us. Metro PCS did not work at all, AT&T had only one bar, but the Sprint and Verizon phones were both able to make and receive calls. I do wish I had known before I got there that the closest grocery store is about 15 to 20 minutes away. I mention this because you will want to purchase or bring food on your way to the house unless you're planning to drive quite a distance to get food later. GPS is not always accurate or available if you have no cell phone reception so map out where you are going before you head down the road.

The house is not new or fancy. The decor leaves a lot to be desired as it is mostly all from the 80's, but the double-wide moble home is very clean and surprisingly spacious. The outside amenities more than make up for the dated interior. I definitely recommend this place if you have a family or group of six people or less looking for some fun on a beautiful crystal clear blue lake. The property is completely fenced in and although we didn't bring them, I would have felt comfortable having my two dogs there. One word of caution: you are in the woods surrounded by nature. We did have an encounter with a small coral snake so be careful and pay attention to where you walk. Overall we had a great time together.

Peace and Quiet

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed the solitude on the screened porch overlooking the clear, springfed lake. During our weeklong stay we saw only one other vehicle and very few people. During one of my morning walks around the loop that surrounds the lake I discovered fresh bear tracks on the road, which is probably not unusual for this area near the Ocala National Forest. My Rat Terrier really enjoyed the freedom of playing in the large fenced yard. The accomodations are clean and comfortable with everything you need for meal preparation, and the grocery store in Hawthorne is only about 9 miles away. Fishing was good and I managed to catch a nice bass (7 lbs, released) from the paddleboat, along with a number of smaller ones. Cathy was very gracious. We highly recommend this great vacation property.

Very quiet and restful. Loved the paddle boat, kayaks, hammock and fire ring

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. Enjoyed watchings the eagles, squirrels and cardinals. Enjoyed eating all our meals on the screened in back porch viewing the lake. Kayaks were great fun along with the paddle boat. Even caught a 18 inch large mouth bass while fishing.

The unit could be updated but everything was very clean. Had all the plates glasses etc. Had a very nice pingpong table that we enjoyed. Only watchTV in the bedroom, never went into the other bedrooms or front room, stayed on the back porch most of the times when not in bed

It was our 53rd wedding anniversary and we really enjoyed our time.

Absolutely delightful!!!

  • 5 of 5

This place is the perfect place to get away from it all. The house itself is quaint, charming and somehow manages to be both spacious and cozy at the same time. The bedrooms and living area were quite comfortable and the screened porch was especially lovely for coffee on a breezy morning. The property is just wonderful...we had two dogs with us that were very pleased with the sounds and smells of all the critters and we appreciated how well fenced the property is so that we could let them roam free. We also enjoyed sitting on the lovely dock and watching the dogs swim in the lake (the water was a bit cold yet for us).

The surrounding area is so quiet and peaceful and full of wildlife. Saw some deer one evening and even caught sight of a coyote on one of our walks around Blue Lake. If you want to go to the grocery or out for a meal or breakfast, you'll have a bit of a drive--part of it on a dirt/sand road--but that is exactly what we were looking for and we were not disappointed. (For breakfast, we loved Nanna's Country Cafe in Interlachen, FL, but it's a 30 min drive from the property)

If you are looking to get away from the city or suburbs and relish being surrounded by nature, then you will love this place. You'll be very comfortable staying in the house and yet be able to enjoy the peace and quiet of the lake and surrounding natural environment. It was truly a refreshing and renewing experience for us.
