Island owners' personal seaside getaway with ocean views from the sofa, bed and balcony.

Beautifully maintained older unit--Complete renovation in late 2012. Latest “Upgrade” —March 2017.

Stylishly appointed, this 4 room studio suite (478sq.ft.) was designed with comfort foremost in mind. Commodious seating, 500+TC bedding, a Simmon's Cal-King mattress (w/foam topper!) and quality bath linens are just a few of the “upscale” amenities. The cool blue and stone colored walls compliment the contemporary furnishings, clean lines, hardwoods, bamboo flooring and oriental carpets. Waves play in the floor to ceiling beveled mirror wall panel. The Asian art found throughout the apartment (museum puttied in place to prevent accidents) lends an exotic air to the décor.

The same care to detail is shown throughout the rest of the suite. An oriental folding privacy screen placed in front of the opened door (heavy high security screen door w/serious lock) gives you air flow on 3 sides~~ah, those island breezes. This is rare in a condo. Combined with the efficient ceiling fan, you’ll find little need for the air-con. Of course, air con is available at all times.

Settle in on the super comfy Italian love-seat, put your feet up on the ottoman and watch a little NETFLIX (on the DVD player) on those "stay-in" evenings. AFTER you catch the sunset!

*For those of you celebrating a special occasion: Rest assured that we go the extra mile to insure that it is, indeed, a *very special* occasion. Dark chocolate covered macadamia nuts and a NICE chilled Chardonnay will be waiting for you to enjoy.


 'The Kona Bali Kai'.  Midway down Ali'i Drive is famous surf spot 'Banyans'  (your view, as pictured in the slide show), adjacent to the Kona Bali Kai main building. (2 miles north to 'Restaurant Row' and the Village, 3 miles south to Keahou Bay and less than a mile to “Magic Sands” beach.) Across and just south from the main building, 12 unit 'Building 3' is easily accessed and has a 'laid back' feeling not usually associated with condos.  The unit is on the slightly elevated (10 ft. above sea level) first floor (easy access and good views of the ocean over 2 lane Ali'i Drive), with private residences on the north and east, a 'Mom and Pop' style market (w/ spirits) on the south and the Pacific Ocean to your west.

It was a delight to live in these accommodations. Owner had put a lot of thought into supplies, including kitchen and cooking implements, that a renter would need in the coarse of a stay. Our transition from our own home to her home was comfortable and seamless. It made our stay all there more enjoyable. We would highly recommend this accommodation. Alex and Donna Cartwright

Great studio condo with your own lanai. Very comfortable bed. Air Con if you need it (we used it only rarely). Just across from the beach in Kona on Ali'i drive. Far enough away from the noisier tourist section and close to White Sand Beach. Full kitchen with lots of pots and pans etc. Was very secure (we saw security guards around several times per day). I highly recommend this place for a couple. Only 15 minutes from Costco where you do save a ton on gas and groceries. Will rent here again for sure.

The owner is hands on and she responds to any questions asap.

Kona condo

This condo is a great location. Close to everything. The owner is so accommodating and helpful. We were in Kona for our sons wedding and she made it so special for us. The condo is tastefully decorated and clean . Easy parking. Comfortable bed and nice little patio with ocean view. Beach park is across the street . The sound of the waves lull you to sleep. We will stay here again.

Relaxing month long get-a-way.

My wife and I recently had a wonderful stay at this condo. Rebecca was great to deal with and very accomidating.The unit is nicely decorated and very clean. We had a wonderful view of the ocean and the surfers from the lanai. We spent a month exploring the Big Island and returning each night to the very comfortable king bed to recharge for the next day was much appreciated.The kitchen was well stocked and the beach chairs came in real handy for our many treks into remote beaches. We did most of our grocery shopping at Costco, Walmart and for fruits and vegetables at the Kona farmers market, all had quite reasonable prices.

This property has everything you need to enjoy an economical stay in Kailua-Kona. Clean comfortable

Easy access for parking. View the ocean from your bed or Lanai. Simply cross the street to a very active surfing Beach spot and/or access to the pool.

A clean comfortable studio condo that certainly invites us back to enjoy the Big Island - we couldn't see it all in the week we had!

Rebecca (who we never actually met)was so helpful and checked in on us via email to ensure our every need was met. Made us feel special.

good location in terms of walk score and access to amenities.

The suite was dirty. Every facecloth was stained, the couch was stained, the cutlery was rusty, the shower curtain was covered in mildew as was the grout of the tub/shower. The window frames were all covered in mildew and the cupboard under the sink where the trash bin is kept was filthy. I can accept an older unit, but older does not have to be dirty. Even the DVD player was rusty! It looked like the suite had been furnished/decorated from a garage sale. The condo is located very close to the busiest street in Kona so traffic noise goes 24 hours a day, add to that we were a stone's throw from the local public beach. We were not able to sit out on the lanai in the evening because of the noise. We took the time to view other rental properties at comparable price and there are much better options available. The swimming pool at the complex is in dire need of repair with tiles missing and the deck cracked and missing tiles as well.

Owner's Response: This is a very bad review, indeed. Upon receipt, I immediately contacted both the last guest and the current guest who have assured me that they encountered no such issues. Then I wrote the displeased guest a letter of apology. That said, "stuff" does happen and the guest found the cleaning unsatisfactory. IF the guest had just responded to my welcome email I would have done everything in my power to correct any/all problems immediately. NOTHING like this has ever happened before. I would have immediately sent my highly sought after housekeeper back at my expense (of course). I have an excellent reputation as an owner and pride myself upon acting quickly --to guest's questions and/or problems. (Please see my other 70+ 5 STAR REVIEWS). It is true that things rust really quickly so near the ocean. I regularly replace small appliances every 18 months (next upgrade;--early March/2017). The shower curtain liners are replaced regularly and the tub area is scheduled for re-grouting. As to the decor, I'm sorry the guest did not enjoy the eclectic Asian-Pacific art I've collected in a lifetime of travel. As to the noise, yes, there is a lot of traffic along Ali'i Drive. Most people deal with it as part of being so close to the "action" (best beaches, restaurant row, farmer's market, etc.). If you require quiet, it's best to book absolute oceanfront (the ocean noise drowns out all else) or off Ali'i (which runs parallel with the ocean). Kona Bali Kai is an older complex right on the shore break —we are ALWAYS doing maintenance and repair work. This is how it works on islands. Our pool was hit pretty hard in the last tsunami but is in good working order. The finishing touches (some tile work, etc.) are scheduled and will be completed soon. Personally, except for an occasional lap session, I prefer a lounger under the palms about 10 ft. from the water! We offer plenty of these, and if you’re lucky, the dolphins or turtles will put on a show.
