Great location for year-round fun! Unique log cabin, very cozy and peaceful setting.
R&R. Non-stop fun and so many activities for the kids!!
Beautiful setting away from it all. It was the perfect place for two days of leaf peeping in New Hampshire. The cabin was comfortable and cozy with the features our group needed to relax after our days of sightseeing.
Rustic cabin and exactly what we were looking for, had fires outside and maf s'mores. Private setting feels like you are in the woods but just steps from town. We will be renting this place again.
When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised at the secluded location. The cabin is at the end of a dead end street and has a huge yard behind it. Although it is secluded, it is about a 5 minute walk to Main Street and all the that Woodstock has to offer. We walked daily to the Woodstock Inn (not that impressed with the food/service), Peg's Restaurant (great for breakfast), Wayne's Market (great beer and steaks!) and we were even able to walk to the wedding that we were in town for.
The cabin was great, it was clean and it had plenty of room for everyone to sleep, including 3 air mattresses! The kitchen had everything we needed, there were cleaning supplies and plenty of games and movies! There isn't cable at the cabin but there was definitely enough entertainment for all the kids (7 - 15 year olds)! There were linens, although we brought our own in addition to toilet paper and paper towels.
The yard was gorgeous. There was a fire pit in the back yard and plenty of wood! It was amazing! There is a stone wall in the back of the cabin and an absolutely breathtaking view!
The owner was very responsive to emails and even recommendations of things to do. Very accommodating!
We will definitely be renting this place again and recommending it to our friends!
Great place to stay for the price!!
Three of us friends stayed here for a weekend during the summer and had a great time. Even though it seems cozy due to its layout, this cabin has plenty of room, and we probably could've had one or two extra people with us. That said, we really didn't spend much time indoors. The backyard area is fantastic. We spent most of our leisure time hanging out in the back porch, grilling by the side porch, and at night, sitting by the fire pit in the back. The location is also conveniently close to town for whenever we need to make supply runs and/or go out for a meal or mini golf.
So why 4 stars? Mainly because the cabin is old and a little rundown. If you're looking for luxury, space, and somewhere to spend a lot of time indoors, I would stay elsewhere. But if you value location, coziness, and true log cabin feel, this is a great option.
Our stay was rocky at first but Lisa and Dana were quick to resolve the problem and our vacation ended up being fabulous. Lisa was very quick to answer all of my questions and concerns as this was the first time I used Home Away. The log cabin was everything I wanted and more. Very roomy inside and rustic and plenty of space outside with lots of privacy. This home is located in a perfect area and I can't wait to rent this property again!
