Overview

About the property

Vintage Townhome, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Why stay in a hotel room with two queens,, when you can have two bedrooms (each with a queen bed), a well-supplied kitchen, a large dining-living area, carport, two baths, patio, free WiFi -- at so much less per night -- and deep discounts for weekly or monthly stays.

Emphasizing organic bedding, full kitchen with organic staples, and sustainability, our 'Town & Gown Guesthouse" is the recently-updated end unit in a row of 8 connected cottages (think San Francisco, think London): as charming and as centrally-located as you can get! We also have off-street, covered parking for guests with cars.

Sleeps 6. Upstairs: two bedrooms with queen beds. Downstairs: a new Ashley queen sofa sleeper. We provide organic sheets, pillowcases, and blankets, plush towels, and down comforters. We use organic cleaning products only.

Enjoy our beautiful, full kitchen with new stainless appliances, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, blender, and service for 6. A high-end (Bosch) washer and dryer, iron and ironing board, and biodegradable/organic laundry products are available for your use, as well as a high chair and play n' pack for your little one.

Eat in the dining room or outside, in our brick-paved, private patio and summertime herb garden: basil and oregano, and sweet woodruff for cooking or for tea (just add boiling water). Smell the roses: pick some for indoors, if you wish.

Musicians take note: we provide a beautiful, old Hinze upright piano, well-tuned!

Everything is within walking distance: 1-4 blocks to a wide range of dine-in/take-out eateries (including vegetarian and vegan), breakfast and coffee shops, and Newman's fresh fish market (with fish & chips takeout); 2 blocks to a playground; 4 short blocks to a large Safeway and Walgreen’s; 6 short blocks to the beautiful, new public library, a natural/organic grocery and wine shop, many downtown restaurants, and the central bus station. You’re less than a mile from Eugene’s Performing Arts (Hult) Center and the UO campus.

Or take the bus! Route #36 (to downtown) stops 1/2 block from our door. Going to the new Matt Knight arena? Transfer downtown to the new EmX. How about the UO? Bus 78 is just two blocks away. For Autzen Stadium football games, just park downtown and cross the river on a footbridge.

Please tell us a little about your planned stay; it helps us to know who we are speaking with and encourages a successful lodging match. If we don't know your situation we probably won't accept your booking. Thanks in advance.

Why Ingrid Wendt-Salisury chose West Eugene

Having traveled, ourselves, to many cities in the U.S. and abroad, we've always sought lodgings where we could enjoy the liberation of walking (or using public transport) wherever we wanted to go. We've also enjoyed lodgings with an 'old world,' historical feel. Now we delight in offering these pleasures to visitors to Eugene: an updated, vintage home in a quiet, older neighborhood, within walking distance of a wealth of happy discoveries.

What makes this house unique

Eugene may be known for its 'liquid sunshine,' but even in storms, our house is cozy and warm, and well-stocked with environmental magazines, novels, poetry, puzzles, and games. You can even read the framed poems of some of our writer friends on the walls. We provide city maps, menus from nearby restaurants, suggestions on day-trips around and outside of Eugene, and the offer of free advice for guests with questions about the area.

Hospitality at a very high level.

  • 5 of 5

The guesthouse is cozy, clean, well-decorated and well located. The owner has provided a lot of hospitality, from the coffee and items for breakfast, the magazines and travel brochures to enjoy the area, the wonderful books and entertainment. Thanks Ingrid!

Great place!

  • 5 of 5

Several of us stayed in this home for a few days and really have nothing but good things to say about the experience. The house was clean and well kept, the beds were comfortable, and Ingrid was always just a text message away if we needed to contact her about anything. Would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a great and affordable place to stay while you are in Eugene. Thanks Ingrid!
