This charming Maine Cottage has outstanding ocean and beach views. Situated across the street from Kennebunk Beach (also known as Mother's Beach) and playground, and just steps away from the KBIA, Lord's Point and cove, it's an ideal location in one of Maine's most celebrated beach communities. An easy walk to the Webhannet golf club and Edgecomb Tennis club, and just a five minute's drive to the picturesque hamlet of Kennebunkport, there's something here for everyone.
The gracious, 7+ bedroom home is large enough to accommodate an extended family -- or two families -- for relaxing indoor-outdoor summer living. The main floor features a spacious living room, dining room and indoor sun porch -- all with spectacular ocean and beach views. A well furnished kitchen with new appliances plus two bedrooms (1 w/full bed plus 1 single)and 1.25 baths are also found on this floor.
The second floor boasts the remaining six bedrooms including one queen and one full sized bed. Many rooms face the water and the soothing sounds of the ocean can be heard from all. Two shower baths plus a third bath with a claw foot bathtub are also located on this level. An upstairs sunroom/rec room off of the master bedroom affords more great views and is an ideal place for kids to play.
A key feature of this home is an expansive front deck: From this magnificent perch, you can smell the sea air and watch the waves roll in. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee as lobster boats and sailing vessels glide past your view and sandpipers skitter along the beach. Then, stroll across the street and hit the beach for a day of sunbathing, swimming, body surfing, picnicing, or a leisurely stroll at water's edge (note: town lifeguard on duty July/Aug). All of the ingredients are here for a memorable Maine holiday!

I am one of three sisters who own the property, passed down to us by our parents. We all grew up spending summers here, learning to swim, sail and play tennis at the nearby KBIA. Sandcastles, boogey boards, first boyfriends, even weddings have all taken place in this home. Our children now cherish the home as much as we do.
Lisa purchased this house in 1968
My parents purchased the home for its perfect beach location, gracious details and indoor-outdoor livability. It is an extremely family friendly home and community -- the kind of place you land at and never want to leave!
The most outstanding feature of this home are the views that you can drink in from most every room on the ocean side of the property. The front deck is a favorite feature. On sunny days this becomes a natural gathering place for morning coffee, lunchtime sandwiches or an early evening libation. On the rare rainy day, the crowd congregates in the large living room or sun porch. The dining room is an ideal spot for family feasts and evening board games.
Kennebunk Beach is the perfect place to unwind in summer. Our house is by Mother's Beach, the prettiest of the Kennebunk beaches. In addition to the beach, the area boasts all kinds of recreational activities from sailing and golf to fishing and tennis and more. Adjacent Kennebunkport is a charming village chock full of restaurants, great shopping and other amenities. Portland Maine and notably the Old Port are about 1/2 drive north. A bit further is Freeport Maine, famous for LL Bean and great outlet shopping. To the south, in Wells Maine, is the famous Maine Diner and for wildlife enthusiasts, the Rachel Carlson Wildlife Preserve.
