A comfortable suite in a serene setting, Lairmont Manor is on the National Registry of Historic Sites located in the heart of Bellingham's fashionable Fairhaven district. Once a small country town, Fairhaven is a community that has retained its upscale historic character. Many elegant homes, including Lairmont Manor and Estate, reside here and the historic shopping district has many art galleries, antique shops, and unique local coffeehouses and restaurants.
Lairmont Manor was built in the Italian Renaissance style bearing many of its architectural features. Built in the second decade of the twentieth century, Lairmont embodies handcrafted details such as imported wood and ironwork, terracotta trim and decorative brickwork. Originally designed as a home for one of Bellingham's great families, the Larrabees, Lairmont has retained a historic accommodation that its current owners now make available to their guests. Beautifully proportioned and superbly maintained formal grounds complement the Manor and are available to our guests.
Fairhaven is Bellingham's key transportation hub. Amtrak and Greyhound bus service are located at Fairhaven Station which links Bellingham to Seattle, Vancouver, B.C. and surrounding communities. Ferries depart the Bellingham Cruise terminal for Alaska, the San Juan Islands, and Victoria, B.C. Several top day spas and golf courses are found near Fairhaven, and for wilderness lovers, the nearby Chuckanut Drive leads out of the city through the Chuckanut Mountains.

Our guests enjoy the ambience of staying in an updated suite that is both elegant and historic. Splendid grounds, serene views and privacy lend themselves to making a stay at Lairmont a memorable one.
This was truly a unique experience. The surrounding grounds are so attractive. Hosts allowed tour of Manor. It was amazing! Accomodations were first rate. This is a class act. We would like to return soon.
The 2 of us stayed in unit 303 (usually used by brides on the day of the wedding). It had a large room containing living room, dining room, and full kitchen; a large bathroom with tub/shower; a bedroom with queen (comfortable) bed. The apartment overlooks the flower garden where the weddings were held. There are 2 entries into the apartment so you can come and go freely without bothering the wedding parties. There were 4 events during our 7 day stay. They rarely lasted past 10PM and didn't bother us at all. It was kind of nice to hear people having fun. We initially had some problems with WiFi reception but it was promptly fixed to our satisfaction.
The location of the manor was perfect for us. It is located about 6 blocks off the north end of the Chuckanut Drive. Downtown Fairhaven is maybe a 15 minute walk through a residential area (or 2 minute drive). There is a nice Haggen grocery in Fairhaven. Downtown Bellingham is probably only another 5 minutes drive away. There are a number of restaurants in Fairhaven (we ate at the Colophon Cafe a couple of times with mixed results). We had better luck eating and sampling the craft beers at all 3 Bellingham breweries (Boundary Bay, Chuckanut, & Kulshan).
We were 2 adults and a child and had a very nice stay at the Suite. This was a pleasant surprise, the suite was really like a small apartment. The kitchen is great for a short stay. The views and surrounding area is beautiful. It is near the north end of the incredibly scenic Chuckanut drive in Fairhaven. Probably best for a couple or family with one small child. As the manor is a destination for weddings, you have to be willing to hear some music occasionally. It didn't bother us and was fun to hear some great music. We hope to be back again one day.
