We as a family live in the upper part of the house and we use our own front door. We rent the apartment for over 22 years and a lot of guests return over and over. Liesbeth spent her childhood in the house and our children already left for their studies and independed life. My husband is working in a hospital in Zurich, Switserland as a pediatric surgeon and I am a retired Montessori teacher. Our 3 children are bussy with their study in Amsterdam. We lived in new York while my husband was working as a childrens oncologist. We like to share our house with people from other countries. We use VRBO often our selves and think that it is very nice to live like locals in different places in the world.
Liesbeth purchased this Apartment in 1964
Why Liesbeth chose Old Center
In august we have the gay parade in front of our house, on Kings- day (april 27) the free market is all around us, In winter time you can skate on the canal in front. The garden is an extra area to sit, drink, smoke and eat in summer time. The bread specialist is around the corner, the flee-market and daily market are on walking distance........and so on, please see by yourself.
What makes this Apartment unique
Most guests love to live like a 'local' This part of the city is one of the most friendly and beautiful ones. boats passing by, cafee's with people sitting outside enjoying the sun. The houses on this canal make you feel like walking around in a museum. IN THE SUMMER MONTHS I PREFER TO BOOK PER WEEK (S)

Clean and cozy canal side flat in good location.
Stayed at Elisabeth's flat for 5 nights over the Easter weekend. Nice location on the canal and good size for two people. Bedroom is at the back and quiet. All necessary amenities. Can walk to all central attractions with tram only 2 blocks away. Lots of eating options nearby.
The property location was ideal ! Along the canal. Quiet, central, short walk to tram and all else.
I really enjoyed the airy, roomy, serene and garden/canal location the property offered. A good value ! All needs were met : heating, comfortable bed, cooking and nice hot showers ! I slept like a baby every nite ! Liesbeth was a great host and very, very responsive to all contact made prior to arriving and while staying. Property receives my HIGH recommendation!
Thank you D it was my pleasure. !!

Great base to see Amsterdam and feel more like a local. Was handy spot to get to all the places we wanted to see and do. Amsterdam is so compact and easy to walk around. Had a wonderful night at the Mirabelle just along the road.
Spotless, beautiful garden & central
We stayed 4 days in this apartment and we really enjoyed it. It is exactly as described and the pictures show. It was very clean and the garden is the perfect place to have a glass of wine after a long day. It is close to all the nice places and restaurants. We'd stay there again!
Thank you, Liesbeth!
Thank you Kim-Karen, it was nice to meet you.
Located within walking distance to the museums, we enjoyed our winter's stay in this cozy apartment. Liesbeth was there to greet us and orient us to the neighborhood. Plenty of hot water and heat warmed us after the cold days of touring.
