This apartment is conveniently located near the famous Plaza Dorrego, in the San Telmo neighborhood of Buenos Aires. The apartment has been modernized while at the same time maintaining its original charm. The building has been restored to its former glory, In a perfectly preserved antique building, there are only four units, so it remains very quite at all times.
The unit gets plenty of sunlight, and opens onto a reception hall which leads to a big living-room. There is a spacious, integrated kitchen, with top quality interior decoration. Both of these rooms open onto front French style balconies.
Spacious corridor, completely restored-to-new bathroom, dressing-room and two main bedrooms with large windows. There is another bathroom with a shower, completely restored; a staircase leads to a third smaller bedroom with bathroom and dressing room.

Charming apartment in perfect location! Highly recommend
I stayed here for a week with my partner and we were absolutely thrilled with the experience. It’s in perfect location- in the heart of San Telmo surrounded by lots of hip restaurants and bars plus easy to get to all BAs major attractions and there’s great market on the weekend. The apartment itself was charming, spacious and clean. We enjoyed cooking in the well-equipped kitchen and opening up the big windows in the morning to drink our coffee with a great view of the beautiful cobblestone street. Bruni was a fabulous host who answered all of our questions, gave us lots of great recommendations and helped us set up transportation from the airport. Highly recommend staying here if you’re in BA and hope to be back... Muchas gracias!!!
large well-appointed apartment with history
We stayed in this wonderful apartment for 19 days at the beginning of a 6-week journey across the continent. For us it was a perfect introduction to Buenos Aires: located in San Telmo, the historical core of the city; convenient for walking and transit; a sensitive renovation that kept the original features of the property and added modern conveniences.
Like all big cities, Buenos Aires (and particularly San Telmo) requires care and attention to personal safety - no flashy jewellery, remain aware of your surroundings, etc. We have travelled independently in more than 25 countries over several decades, so we know the routine. We had NO problems in San Telmo, or any part of Argentina.
Our hosts were responsive and helpful from our initial reservation through to final check-out. They arranged for a shuttle from the airport (a great convenience after 16 hour flights overnight) and remained quickly accessible via WhatsApp.
The apartment is spacious, although our plans to share it fell through; so the two of us had lots of elbow room. Our visit in February hit some hot weather, but high ceilings, the AC unit and the large balcony doors allowed the evening breeze to keep us comfortable. Although the street is busy (typical city noise), the bedrooms are at the back of the unit and are quiet. The small elevator is convenient for hauling luggage up and down, although we preferred to take the two long flights of marble stairs past the stained glass windows! The WiFi worked well and there was lots of hot water…
The kitchen is well arranged with all necessary appliances, and convenient for those who actually cook. The main bathroom is large and quite luxurious. The other two bathrooms are more basic. The washing machine was handy for our long stay.
a large well-appointed apartment with original features; located in the authentic neighbourhood of San Telmo; with responsive, friendly and helpful hosts.
Great, but lacking one important detail...
Federico was outstanding, and helped us at every step. I have no complaints about the place itself, or the owner, with the exception of one important detail. It appears that he has not gotten his neighbors in the building on board with his decision to rent out the place. This resulted in my wife being yelled at for not taking out a box of trash that his maid had left in the hallway before we arrived (and which we had no idea had anything any to do with our unit, or that it was our responsibility), and on another occasion, almost got me arrested by the police essentially because one of the other tenants believed that I improperly operated the elevator.
Even though it was not true, it put us in a difficult position. At the time, I had been in the lobby for almost an hour waiting for a delivery of lost luggage that didn't come, and many people had come and gone, using the elevator, and any one of them could have caused the elevator problem. However, she decided it was my fault because I was in the lobby. Federico later indicated that even though the woman had just yelled at me about the elevator and left, that she had threatened to falsely accuse me of something (unspecified) to the police just to get him to throw me out of the building. Apparently, she wanted me out of the building because I made her feel "unsafe." I have no idea why, as I didn't even really speak to her. He indicated that he would move us to avoid trouble, and was able to calm her down. However, it surprised me that he acknowledged that his neighbors were willing to make false accusations to the police, and that he was wanting to move us out on this basis, and that he was not apologetic or surprised about this at all. It was apparent that he knew his neighbors did not want temporary renters in the building, and because he was renting the place out anyway, we received the brunt of their rage. The prospect of being falsely accused of a crime in a foreign country for just standing in the lobby of the building waiting for luggage was terrifying, and the fact that Federico was not surprised by this reaction by his neighbors indicated to me that he knew there might be some friction with them. This suggested that he did not really have their consent or acquiescence to renting the place out. That put us in a very awkward position, and that was not disclosed at the time of the rental. It should have been, and I would not have paid so much for the rental if I had known we were unwelcome.
A great location to enjoy Buenos Aires in general and the area of San Telmo in particular.
We have nothing but good things to say about our recent stay at the "Parisian Hideaway". It is a unique property that blends old world charm with modern conveniences. We enjoyed using the kitchen which is extremely well stocked with cooking equipment; plates and glasses. Taking the antique elevator with its iron gates is like taking a trip back in time. We were there during an extreme heat wave, but the air conditioning was very effective in the main living areas. It did get a little warm in the back bedrooms, the three stand up fans helped to cool things down. The three french balconies were wide enough for me to sit out and have a cigar and a cocktail while watching the Carlos Calvo street life. San Telmo is not Palermo, but we found the area to be full of great restaurants; markets; shops and of course the Plaza Dorrego, where we caught the Tango dancers several times. Everything we needed was close to hand and main transit lines were a relatively short walk away. We always felt safe, even when walking home after midnight. Bruni and Federico were very professional to deal with and were always quick to answer any queries. Thank you for taking such good care of us. We will definitely try and stay with you again, if and when we return to Buenos Aires.
We enjoyed our stay in this apartment. The location was great - grocery store next door and laundromat across the street. It was well stocked and the remodeled kitchen and bathrooms were very nice. A few suggestions for improving the experience. The tub in the main bathroom was extremely slippery to the point of being dangerous. And the furniture in the living room was uncomfortable and sparse. There were four of us and there were only seats for two. A chest of drawers in each bedroom would have been welcome as there were no closets. But overall, we would recommend this apartment.
The apartment is excellent. We loved cooking in the kitchen and sharing a glass of wine on the huge kitchen island. The large dining and sitting room with its huge windows and high ceilings (15 foot?) all added to the charm. We loved the fact that the bedrooms were in the back of the apartment and blocked all of the noise from the street. The beds were great and sleeping late was the norm. Great restaurants and pubs are a block or so away on Peru street, shopping at the market for vegetables was enjoyable and the supermarket next door to the apartment made stocking up easy. I would recommend this apartment to anybody.
