I was raised in Newport Beach, California and our family always took vacations on Oahu and I fell in love with Lanikai. I owned and operated a mobile food delivery service and cafes serving businesses in Orange County and Los Angeles that fed a hundred thousand business people daily. In 1996, I was awarded Businesswoman of the Year for Orange County. That same year, I retired, sold my business, and made a life changing decision to move our family to Hawaii.
Lori purchased this house in 2002
I came to Lanikai as a little girl and it was always my favorite area and beach on any island. As I was growing up, our family usually went to Hawaii for our summer vacations. This is how I discovered the then hidden gem known as Lanikai. It became my lifetime goal to build my dream estate and raise our four daughters in Lanikai. Now that they are all grown up and I have a lot of room, I am able to share the awesome beauty of Lanikai with the world. My guests come first. I make sure they see all the amazing things on Oahu and am there for them 24/7.
Convenient use of Lanikai Beach - rated #1 beach in the world. Also recently rated #1 family beach, with its powder-like white sand and calm, clean turquoise water.
Our plantation-style residence was built to look like the original Pioneer Inn in Lahaina, Maui. It is not a LA type home. We offer more amenities - kayaks, surfboards, boogie boards, skim boards, beach chairs, beach mats, beach towels, coolers, 86-jet hot tub, dining gazebo, free wifi, etc. - than any other rental in Lanikai. There is a unique outdoor kitchen that is fully equipped with a burner gas barbecue. Ample parking is provided for all units.
My family and I (8 total) spent a week in this beautiful Kailua Rental for my grandson’s 8th birthday and we had the best time ever! It was very clean, spacious and decorated lovely. We each had our very private rooms which included full baths. I slept on the most amazing king size bed ever. I loved the option of the outside shower; it was such a nice clean feeling. We had everything we needed from a well-stocked kitchen/BBQ area to all the beach necessities even beach towels. Lanikai is a perfect calm beach for children, with white powder sugar like sand and we even swam right next to sea turtles! The owner Lori, her husband and daughter were very welcoming, gracious and very resourceful. They provided us with a list of places to eat, shop, sightsee and recommended the best Luau, all without ever being overbearing. In fact they made us feel like family. This is a must stay rental. I will not stay anywhere else if it’s not available. I rate this 5 stars because it’s the highest rating here but it’s definitely 5x that. We are returning in October for my birthday and I can’t wait. Thank you Lori and family for your wonderful hospitality, warmth and kindness, and making it perfect in every way. We can’t wait to visit again! Mahalo
My husband and I stayed in Waikiki before but wanted to get the real Hawaiian experience. The rental was so clean and updated, with lists of things to do around the island, created my Lori, the owner. She is welcoming and helps with any questions we had. She has endless amounts of beach chairs, toys, kayaks, and an amazing outside kitchen we grilled on and sat in the hot tub. We already booked out stay for this coming October with friends in her 3 bedroom house. It's literally magical in Lanikai, and steps to the beach. I suggest this rental to anyone that has a family, or a romantic getaway! Beautiful and kept up very nice.
After stressing so much trying to find the right place to stay for the holidays because I wanted to find a place that was good for my two kids and also my husband with his parents I finally got to relax- thanks to this vacation rental. The unit itself is designed as a plantation style home. Steps to Lanikai Beach made it easy to wake up and go for a morning swim and then be back at the unit to make and host a nice breakfast for the family. I was amazed to see how much was offered in the kitchen to make it feel as if it were your own home. Also, the amenities are what really striked me about this home! kayaks and surfboards and so much more, the kids loved it! but my wallet loved it more. Other tourist we saw when we paddled out to the mokuluas rented boats for $100 for the day! ouch! Lori who is the owner opened up all of her toys for my family and I to use included with just a 2 week stay whenever we wanted. I usually do not write reviews on websites but after this trip I just felt is necessary to share with you all. The price is right, the home is great, and the genuine services Lori provided for my family are unforgettable. We will be back next year! no stress looking for a place this time because we already know where we will be returning.
After a hectic journey with a few 'bumps in the road" we found Lori and Robert who took us under their wings !
We were greeted at their gate with a welcoming and comforting smile on Bob's face. We were escorted to our room , The Bamboo Unit. Bob described all of the amenities that they had to offer. We knew that we were at the right place. The bed and linens were lovely, the towels had a scent of sweet 'aloha, and our view was heavenly. I loved the lanai so much that I chose to sleep on the outdoor couch , to hear the ocean at night and hear the birds tweeting in the morning hours. This is a very quiet home in a pristine community. Lori and Bob went out of their way, daily, to assure that we were content.................I miss the two friendly well mannered dogs and we will return back....To the same room , where we felt at home...................
Lori of Lanikai and Bob offer the most accommodating home imaginable. My family and four children stayed at her home after the immediate death of my husband. Originally we planned on staying at a hotel downtown and Lori was going to only generously pick us up from the airport. We were a grieving mess. She was able to get my non refundable money back from our hotel and she offered us a beautiful home with clean, fresh linens and a spa. The couple were gracious, hospitable and generous. It has been 4 years now and my children will always remember this paradise. Her children kindly kayaked with my heartbroken fatherless kids. Lori and Bob your kindness and generosity will always have a special place in our hearts. I highly recommend this absolutely beautiful home owned by beautiful hosts to anyone. They enjoy life and will give you the most pleasant vacation of your life. I am writing 8/06/16 as date of arrival because I can't go back far enough but it does seem like we were just there last night because Lori and Bob never left my mind.
We stayed in the upstairs unit with an ocean view. It was very private, quiet, clean and comfortable. The sheets were fresh and the room was very clean with a nice ocean breeze and private entrance. It had a nice sitting around and patio with a clean and new outdoor kitchen. The bathroom clean and very spacious. I would definitely suggest this rental to stay whether you are traveling alone on business, girls trip, family trip with kids or a romantic getaway. Lori and Bob are very nice, have a laundry list of fun things to do, a very close walk to the beach and beach towels, bikes, beach toys all provided. Thanks again Lori for a remarkable experience, can't wait til next year in October! See you then! Mahalo.
