Beautiful home in a beautiful area
I can’t say enough about how amazing this home was. Mr. Nelson and Patsy were great, so easy to communicate with, and Ms. Patsy even checked in on us via phone during our stay. The home is full of everything you could need; beds were comfortable, spotless and clean, and nothing about it was rustic in a negative sense. The outdoor area, trails, views....nothing short of gorgeous. It was a wonderful trip for our family to unwind and spend hours venturing outside, and we can’t wait to come back!
The Best Place To Stay
Came here with 4 other friends for a bachelors ski trip and we had the best experience here at Steve’s place. His place was extremely clean with a lot of amenities! This is a true mountain cabin and the creek with waters falls will put you to sleep. Can’t wait to stay here again!
Awesome Place, Great Location
This was the perfect place, just a little out from town no hussle and bussle. We could not have pictured it any different, the cabin was awesome, I was so thankful we had all the channels so we could watch the bowl games. I can't think of not 1 single thing that was just not as close to perfect as it could be. I think the next time we come back I will bring an air mattress to sleep out by the firepit by the waterfall, I could go on vacation here an not ever leave the cabin, it is just so relaxing. The outside cooking area was awesome, Ms. Patsy was great, and Steve was great also. This place is truly a gem. I've been all over the world in the Air Force and I beleive this could be one of the best places to relax I ever been to in my 28 years of Active Duty, it was truly a great place. My girls loved the Tree House which was very very nice. We only had one little bump in the road, my son woke up one morning and was sitting on the side of the bed, and one of the bed riser tips busted. I went outside and found somthing to prop it up until I could get back to town, and I replaced all 4 risers, which Steve told me as long as it was sturdy enough for the next guest, that he would be coming down soon and replace them, but being my Military mind set, but as good a time as we had I thought that was the least I could do for such a great place. The other 3 bed risers I placed behind the door in the upstairs bedroom Steve, they are a little different size but could be used if needed. Thanks again for allowing my family to stay at your place, it was awesome to say the least, I hope we did everything we were suppose to when we left. Ms. Patsy was so nice, I washed all the towels and had them folded for her on the dining room table, and left her husband a good tip to give her when came and got the garbage because she was so nice to us. Oh, when we got there, Ms. Patsy was still there and my kids were out walking the dogs by the old pickup by the road and two of the neighbors dogs came down to investigate and the mail man hit one of the neighbors dogs, he stopped and went and told the neighbor and my daughter was petting the dog and it passed while she was petting it. The neighbor did'nt seem to upset. That was the only time we saw or heard any dogs, which they would not have bothered us anyway. Again thanks again Steve, I sure would love to come to your gathereing Ms Patsy told me about you do at the cabin once a year. Take Care Carl McNeil
The house was very rustic bathrooms were terrible . Where to start, shower had not been cleaned for a while. Shower doors had soap scum had not been cleaned for a while . It was in such a shape I did not want to use it at all and did not shower unless I felt I had too faucet have gunk all around them need cleaning including kitchen pots are in such shape need replacing wash clothes were thin and very dingy need replacing oven and stove oven door have drips all the way down the door that also needs a thorough cleaning sheets in poor condition as dirty as the other area were I did not trust them. I could keep listing but I will end here except to say we had to clean grill before using. This place needs to be closed until it can be cleaned and some updated like pots and supplies. Also dishwasher was so dirty I did not use it. This experience has almost convinced me not to ever use VRBO
Again I also have a home I rent myself and I would not rent it in this condition I would be mortified. Now one positive note. The setting is fabulous with the waterfall creek etc. but after all that was God given wasn’t it . Place has lots of potential and mr Nelson seems to be a handy man we appreciated some of his handiwork.
An unexpected treat
We weren’t quite expecting this rustic on arrival, but after 20 minutes, we were thrilled with this little charmer. It is definitely rustic, but you have everything that is needed and then some. We had such a wonderful and relaxing time and will be back if we don’t buy our own little rustic place. This is a very unique place, with a beautiful creek in the backyard, plenty of firewood to scrounge in the woods for, and the most fabulous dog that visited us (he loves to fetch rocks) so funny. Be prepared to go through a bedroom to reach the two upstairs bedrooms. We really had a great time, thanks Steve!
Thank You Laura. I would like to clarify the bedroom arrangement. There are 3 private queen bedrooms in the main cabin. The bedroom Laura commented on having to walk through to get upstairs is not listed as a bedroom although there is a full bed there. The 4th queen bedroom is in the treehouse.
Skiing on Beech Mountain is 7 miles away!
