About Mary & Kelly

We are semi retired couple who have built our dream home on Okanagan Lake. We love swimming, biking and hiking the area in the summer. In the winter we enjoy the wonderful cross country skiing that is close to the house.

Mary & Kelly purchased this house in 2006

Why Mary & Kelly chose Thompson Okanagan

Over twenty years ago we pedaled into this valley on a family bike trip. We fell in love with the area and the people. We returned year after year, always finding one more special place, one more activity we enjoyed. We usually stayed at small cottages or B&B's. We enjoyed the experience and this is why we added the suite to our home.

What makes this house unique

There are every few homes on the lake in Peachland, our property is unique in that it offers a small private paradise directly on the lake. The area has every thing from award winning golf courses & elegant wineries, to small family run wineries and biking the Kettle Valley Railway Trail.

Great setup for relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay here on the waterfront. The suite was well set up and had everything we needed. Great place to sit back and enjoy the lake view.. Dock is need of some care due to the flooding but based ion the way the place is kept they will get this done as soon as a their contractor is available. Don't expect a young child friendly beach as the water gets deep quickly and it is gravel bottom. You are short away from the public beaches. We would book here again. Mary is readily available to answer any questions.

Peachland Suite Lake Okanagen

  • 5 of 5

Mary and Kelly live in Peachland BC, Canada, and own a VRBO.

They are exceptional hosts, who are kind and gentle in their meeting and greeting you.

They have a home, they built with pride that has, a well kept 2 bed 1 bath self catering suite in lower part of their home, The suite is big and roomy, and has 4 seats, 2 kitchen bench seats. It will have upper feet and furniture noise, but this will not disturb your sleep.

It is an easy care suite with your own washer and dryer ( washing powder supplied), good sized kitchen, and cupboard to fill with supplies. Good working fridge/freezer.

1 queen bed 2 twins, are comfy, sheets, towels fresh and new.

The suite has a great covered porch for eating outside that is the length of the suite.

Inside is clean, fresh and stocked with the basics. Tall windows, ( that can be opened,) that bring the view inside is nice.

The wonderful views of both their well tended garden, grown by Mary tended by a gardener who will pop by whilst you are there is right on Lake Okanagan. If you like to sit and watch the flowers grow and spot the birds in June it is where you should stay. The location is great to walk to Peachland ( 30 minutes to walk with stops to look at the neighbours) where you can walk to an English Style Promenade town, and enjoy many food, drink, shops, pharmacy and museums. Easy access to Highway 95 south and north.

There are LOTS of wide concrete stairs to get to the suite, but the good hand rail will get you there. A steep gravel walk to the dock, and steep driveway for the car, so be able to do all three.

There is a gas station and IGA grocery store, library, pub and dollar store 5 minutes drive away for supplies.

The tourist info in Peachland is VERY GOOD, and art gallery is for a quiet air conditioned viewing. Bliss café has great coffee and Tiramisu for breakfast.

Lots of hot water in the one bathroom, and an exceptional spot for the artist who wants to set an easel up, or write a book and watch the fish jump on the lake.

If you want to be near the Westside wine district, catch the Kettle Valley Steam Train ride (book ahead) visit Penticton and Wine Country is great for a couple or 4 family ADULTS.

Stay for a month and make a base to explore the Desert Lands of British Columbia's wine country. If you come in late June the roses are exceptional as are the cherries, fresh from the farm.

Thank you Mary and Kelly for the lovely stay,

Sandi and Roger Miller

Amazing property, exceptionally clean, well equipped and very comfortable. The views were fantastic and it was wonderful being able to sit out on the patio having a barbecue and enjoy the scenery. Mary our hostess was great. Very friendly and informative. Nothing was too much trouble to her. Will definitely stay here again if we ever come back to BC.

Okanagan Oasis

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at Mary & Kelly's place in Peachland. The house and property was exactly as advertised (tip top: clean, well maintained, convenient, & quiet) and getting settled in was very easy. We quickly felt right at home. The house, garden, and private dock were a delight and offered a welcome retreat. We especially enjoyed the garden and were impressed by the tasteful landscaping -- easy on the eyes and impressive for anyone who enjoys gardens and understands the work that goes into maintaining them. Access to the private dock was an additional boon. The house is also well situated in terms of central location in the valley with easy access to downtown Peachland and Westbank as well as up and down the valley for day trips. We stayed in the downstairs portion of the house and thought it was ideal for a couple or a family of four. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to our return. Thanks Mary & Kelly!

For anyone not familiar with the area, we recommend the Gasthaus in downtown Peachland for hearty meals and Theo's Restaurant in downtown Penticton for ambience. We hiked Mount Boucherie in Westbank for the first time and found it a pleasant, easy evening hike to take in the vistas (15 minute drive from the house).

Paradise on Lake Okanagan

  • 5 of 5

If you like peace and quiet, this is where you want to stay. We are a family of four (kids age 8 and 9) and stayed for a week in july 2016 at Mary and Kelly's place. Our stay definitevely exceeded our expectation. Aside from offering a magnificent view and access to lake Okanagan, the layout of the house allows privacy for everyone. It is super clean, well equipped for cooking and the beds were comfortable. The patio was our new home. We had all of our meals outside.

Mary is a really nice owner. She takes an excellent care of her property and of her clients. She provided us with plenty of information to make our stay fantastic ( the italian salumeria and fruit market were great finds as was the Kangaroo farm).

We rented stand up paddle boards from the local shop for the week and we had great service and fun. We also really enjoyed the zipline in Peachland.

Mary and Kelly's house is definitively a great vacation rental by lake Okanagan away from the crowds .We hope you can also enjoy it!
