Guestbook comments from the owner

By Liz (olympia WA)

This house is perfect for a large gathering of people with diverse interests. Our fishermen fished each day (and CAUGHT a steelhead); our walkers went to the beach each day, and our cooks and sitters sat happily by the fireplace in the main room , cooking, reading and talking. New Year's Eve we sat around the fireplace and told stories -- and watched the fireworks from La Push (or maybe Rialto Beach?) which was a lovely little bonus!

The property is beautiful and it is a nice house but the group of us(12) experienced another unnanou

  • 3 of 5

The first story of the house is great, kitchen stocked pretty well and appliances in good working order. Downstairs two of the three plus extra room are good but the room and extra room with twin and bunk beds are very old and beyond weary compared to the rest of the house. The bathroom with the jacuzzi is great with a nice separate shower. Other bathroom are ok. Appreciated a good washer and Dryer. The biggest and true issue was inaccurate communication about many other friends of the tenant roaming the property including through the area we were trying to occupy. We thought for the cost we had the entire access to the property.

Unique property!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay. The large eclectically decorated home offers many sleeping arrangements. The location is ideal for treks to beaches and rainforests. The real draw is the unique property that includes a great view of the pastures with cattle and 2 beautiful horses. Thanks Byron!

Wonderful place, great times

  • 5 of 5

We rented this beautiful place for a wedding with 65 guests, some camping, some staying in the home.

Before hand, Byron was super helpful and responsive, answering all of my questions about the property and our needs in a timely manner. He was even accommodating in letting us stop by a few months ahead of time, so we could get the lay of the land. AND, we were able to have a full on pig roast, as we were hoping!

This was a perfect spot. for privacy, a big event, beautiful acreage, the river was gorgeous, and being just a couple miles from the ocean just made it perfect.

We will definitely keep this property in mind next time we want to have a gathering of a bunch of family and friends.

Byron, I can't thank you enough.

It was as promised and actually nicer than expected. The property is beautiful, the rooms are spacious, and there's lots of area to gather. The location is great to explore the peninsula. I will keep this in my mind-vault for the next time there's reason to have a big group together.

Thanks Byron!

The house is fine, but the owner is not responsive.

  • 3 of 5

The owner promised to contact us for check in instruction, but he didn't. Instead, I called him, also text and email, no response.

He lives besides the property, that may be the reason he didn't give instruction ---- he assumes that guests will find him themselves.

We even considered to find another place to sleep. Luckily we decided to go to the house to see if we can get in.

The house is not kept very well. It's huge, but the bathroom on first floor doesn't work. I can see spider web on the windows.

Owner's Response: The bathroom works perfectly. These folks didn't pull the end of spout down for shower to work! The reception in my apartment has very poor reception. Everyone should be able to access the Hospitality page to gain entry to the home, no real need to contact me.
