HUNTER HOUSE is every fisherman's fantasy and a beach-goer's bonanza. The homeowners offer their own blend of unique Texas hospitality and gracious accommodations. Located approximately 60 miles south of Houston, 25 miles west of Galveston's Seawall, and 13 miles from the cozy Surfside community, this spectacular home is just seconds away from San Luis Pass, just minutes from the Gulf, and just a few blocks to nearby beaches, convenience store, and bait camp. It is the perfect place for that family vacation or event, family reunion, or a small wedding or reception. Come share in the panorama and spectacular views of San Luis Pass and the glistening waters of the Gulf of Mexico. You will find upscale furnishings and design throughout this 1500 square foot house. The master bedroom is immense with a modern spacious master bath and double sinks. The sun-bathed living, dining and kitchen areas are maximized for space for continuity among all guests.
Just outside these areas is a grand deck that is intentionally designed to provide lots of breezes, sunshine, as well as shade throughout the day. There you will find outdoor seating and table, a fish-cleaning table and sink area, buffet table and two charcoal grills. You will be thrilled at the sunrises, sunsets, and evening moons afforded to you at this ideal retreat.
DID I MENTION that we provide convenient, fenced-in, and covered parking for multiple vehicles? We are in a community haven that is quaint, private, and peaceful and at the end of a cul-de-sac which is great for walking, jogging, or just playing with the kids. You will have access to our community lighted fishing pier and neighborhood boat launch. Downstairs beneath the house are extended waterfront built-in benches, crab traps, double stadium lights for cool night fishing, an attractive tiled area with table and chairs, a picnic table, a barrel smoker, and a constant breeze. As an added convenience, you will find an electric boat lift and a double jet-ski lift. (The homeowners retain the right to keep their private boat at the dock.)
HISTORIC GALVESTON is just a short drive along the scenic coastal highway. Extend your cruise (or come early!) and partake of the riches of Galveston Island: Schlitterbahn Water Park, Moody Gardens, The Seawall, downtown Strand, museums, shopping, restaurants, The Grand 1894 Opera House, Mardi Gras in February, the ETC (East-end Theatre Company), and numerous year-round cultural experiences.
Keywords: Canal home, great trout fishing and flounder fishing right from the dock, beautiful sunsets, blocks to the beach. Bring your boat! We also have a yacht for charter on the Texas coast. Capt. Mark Cell (979) 575-5888
We purchased Hunter House when our son was 3 months old so we would be able to enjoy the beach and fishing with him as he grew up. We love the coast and wanted him to develop a love for it also!

Thanks Mark. I won’t even charge you for the minnow bucket that I left for the next renter- lol. I already have 2 of them in my garage and figured if I left it there I could use it on our next trip. FYI- we wound up catching about 15 trout (9 keepers) and 5 flounder (2 keepers). We really enjoyed the house and the relaxation!! Looking forward to our next trip already!!
My family and I had a great time here, the night fishing was our favorite time and also when we caught most of our fish. The fenced yard made it nice for our dog and the house is setup very nice. The air conditioner actually quit working while we were there and the owner Mark got a service company out there to fix it within 2 hours. We will definitely try to stay again sometime.
Very nice, clean home. Excellent accommodations for fishing! We will definitely be back
soon. Capt. Mark was wonderful to deal with and very responsive before, during and after our stay.
I invited a few friends to come down for a long weekend of fishing. Capt. Mark's canal home is very nice and clean. Lots of room in the house and a very large deck overlooking the canal. On top of that we caught lots of fish. Fantastic memories were make. We will be back soon. Capt. Mark is easy to deal with and was always available by phone for questions.
I grew up fishing in this area, but have never stayed in Treasure Island. Our family loved it here. The canals were very large which was great for pier fishing. Being on a canal, the views were still amazing! The house is decorated very nice, and I appreciated the fact that there is not any carpet. The pictures just don't do it justice! We can't wait to go back!
Wonderful home at the Pass in Freeport. Clean and comfortable house with everything you need for a stress-free vacation. We will be back this Summer!
Great family getaway in nice quiet water setting. Beaching and boating!
Fishing from the house dock is great while BBQing. Remote
