Overview

About the property

Cabin, 1 Bedroom + Loft, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 5)

The perfect cabin for a couples romantic get-a-way! Also great for 2 couples or a family vacation.

Trout fishing is right out the back door or you can kayak or canoe to Deep Hole Recreation Area.(takes about an hour)--boats not provided.

This 'rustic' cabin is located directly on the Toccoa River with a unique deck built over the river. While the cabin has a 'rustic' feel, you still have all of the comforts you could desire! The kitchen has been completely remodeled with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances.

Enjoy cooking out on the gas grill just off of the wrap-around covered porch. Then enjoy relaxing in the private hot tub!

Hiking trails abound in the area. There are several trails that you can walk or mountain bike that lead from the cabin as it is located next to the National Forrest. The Benton Makay trail crosses the highway several times in the area and the Appalachian Trail is just a few miles away.

Or you may choose to just relax on the wrap around porch or river deck and watch the river!

In cooler months, you can enjoy a fire in the wood-burning fireplace or have a 'campfire' in the fire ring by the river.

Central heat and Air conditioning ensure comfort year round. You can watch your favorite shows on the large flat screen TV with DVD player(a limited supply of DVD's are also available). Wireless internet, Dish network, and free local and free long distance phone service.

About The Owner

We live in Gainesville (a little over an hour away). This is our second property in this area and love coming to the mountains! We know you will love this quiet get-a-way as much as we do!

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2010

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thanks for allowing us to share your beautiful cabin. The weekend was everything we hoped it would be--and more. My husband caught five trout!

Owner's Response: Thank you for staying with us and letting us know that you found the cabin less than expected. Without this sort of feedback, we would not know that there was cause for concern. We normally get flattering comments about how clean and well stocked the kitchen is, so this was a bit surprising. I have addressed this with the cleaning crew so that we can find ways to make each guests' stay as care free and pleasant as possible. A large percentage of our bookings are from returning guests and I hope to include you on that list in the future. Thanks again for staying with us!

Quiet retreat from the the routine of life.

  • 4 of 5

Very nice cabin lost in the cover of the shadows of the landscape. Interior quite comfortable and decorated. Exterior well kept with lots of leaf cover around cabin. Short road trail headed up the hill for hike. . Fishing netted some small cathes for added fun. No cell service, but land-line available. Wi-Fi and Dish network available. Hot tub and grill where a added plus. Family or couple retreat.

Great area and cabin!

  • 5 of 5

My family and myself love the Suches area. This was a weekend getaway: the cabin was perfect! It was clean, in great shape, and in a perfect location right on the Toccoa river. I would recommend this rental to everyone one that needs some R&R!

Great cabin with all the accessories

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is right on the Toccoa River in a peaceful location. The owners have furnished it with every accessory imaginable. All you need to bring is your food to cook.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your nice review! We have stayed in many cabins and condo's through the years and have learned what we like to have in the units that we have rented. We have used that knowledge to try to equip our cabin with those items so that our guests have what they need. Whether it is to prepare a nice meal, enjoy the hot tub, or just relax on the porch..."all you need to bring is your food to cook"

Great getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This was a great getaway for us! The cabin is perfect and has everything we needed. We hiked, enjoyed the scenery and made several short excursions, and looked forward to the hot tub at the end of the day to soothe sore muscles. It does take far longer than one would imagine to get anywhere in these mountains so GPS is a must. There are great hikes - short to Helton Creek Falls and more challenging up Blood Mountain - or a visit to Helen for anything touristy with an Alpine flair. Great places to eat are hard to find so stock up on a few things. The pizza at the gas station in Suches isn't half bad. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!!!

Wow what a wonderful cabin!

  • 5 of 5

Our family (2 kids age 4 and 7) just got home from a 4-night stay in this cabin and we've already discussed when we can return. The location is perfect in that it feels like the middle of nowhere--the National Forest is just off the porch to one side with the Taccoa River to the other--but the town of Blue Ridge is just a short 20-minute drive away. There's a small bait shop a couple miles away where we got our fishing license and supplies. The surrounding area has endless things to do (we fished, went tubing, checked out Blue Ridge and Dahlonega, Amicalola Falls, the hanging bridge)...and then we ended each day in the new hot tub! We connected our Spotify to the hot tub's Bluetooth speakers and relaxed, surrounded by the forest and river. Even though there's a house across the river, the trees and the lattice on the porch provide plenty of privacy.

The kitchen is large and well stocked. The bathrooms are comfortable. And the woodwork is beautiful. We even had time for a movie one night using the cabin's Dish Network.

It has the feel of a much more expensive rental. We highly recommend it!

Cozy cabin directly on the upper Toccoa River. Trout fishing is right out the back door! The cabin is located at the Union Co./Fannin Co. line and is 30 minutes from either Blairsville or Blue Ridge for shopping, restaurants, golf, and theaters.
